About

Joe Hall Roofing & Contracting has served the Dallas Fort Worth area since 1989, when Joe Hall started the business with the help of his sons Brett and Derek. Its office, showroom and storage yard sit at 1925 West Pioneer Parkway on the Arlington and Pantego border in Tarrant County. In 1996 Brett Hall and Tina Hall bought the company from Joe, and it is now run by CEO Tina Hall and COO Heather Kipker. The company runs separate residential and commercial departments. Residential work covers roof replacement, roof repair and new construction, with material options that include asphalt shingles from GAF, Owens Corning and CertainTeed, synthetic slate and shake with Class 4 impact resistance, real slate, tile, wood shake, stone coated steel and standing seam metal. Commercial work covers replacement, repair, maintenance, new construction and roof coatings over modified bitumen, single ply and metal systems. Cities served span North Texas from Arlington and Fort Worth out to Denton, McKinney, Prosper, Weatherford and Granbury, and the company states its farm, ranch and commercial departments cover the wider state. On credentials, Joe Hall Roofing is listed by GAF as a Master Elite contractor, a tier GAF states less than two percent of roofing contractors hold, which allows the Golden Pledge limited warranty. The company also appears in Owens Corning's contractor directory, has been BBB accredited since 1 June 1990 with an A plus rating, and lists NTRCA, RCAT and Good Contractors List affiliations. Tarrant County sits in North Texas hail alley, which is why Class 4 impact resistant options feature heavily in the company's material list.

Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this licence yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search — search #03-0284 or the company name.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

I'm with ovilla United Methodist Church. The trustees noticed several shingle pieces scattered around the property after a windstorm back in the fall. We looked up the information on how long the roof had been on there. We discovered that we were eight years over due. We began getting bids for a new roof. Will showed up on time and prepared, and he gave us a good solid bid. Will is quite knowledgeable about roofing. Will inspected the roof. He and I discussed terms conditions and times. Soon I had a bid. Along with other bids . I approached the church council and we decided to go with Joe Hall roofing company and Will. I notified Will and discussed times and terms, and conditions, I signed the contract and we proceeded. All the working hands did the job well, and they had a good clean up. Will was very professional in all phases of the work. Everyone I dealt with at Joe Hall roofing company were professional and courteous and friendly. Thanks to all at Joe Hall roofing company.

We had a wonderful experience with Joe Hall Roofing! From start to finish, their team was professional, knowledgeable, and truly cared about helping us resolve our roofing issue. Derek Hall was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. He came out multiple times, carefully assessed the situation, and ultimately provided the right solution to repair the damage. It was clear he genuinely wanted to make sure everything was done correctly. The crew that completed the work was fantastic—very tidy and respectful of our home. They also took the time to speak with both my husband and me about the job, explaining what they were doing and making sure we were comfortable with everything. Brandy Cotter was also amazing to work with. She was friendly, reassuring, and kept us informed every step of the way. She truly put our minds at ease throughout the entire process. We would highly recommend Joe Hall Roofing for any of your home roofing needs. Thank you again to the whole team for such excellent service!

They were professional, punctual, and communicated clearly from start to finish, keeping everything on schedule. Their workmanship is outstanding, and it’s clear they’re committed to quality. My new roof and home look great! I’m confident everything was done right. I highly recommend Joe Hall Roofing for reliable, top-quality roofing and general contracting work.

We are delighted with the craftmanship and attention to detail Joe Hall Roofing performed our on our roof replacement. Trey gave us a very reasonable price and he prepared a certificate to send to our homeowner's insurance company giving us a significant hail resistant discount on our homeowner's insurance policy. The roof replacement was actually completed in one day- from absolutely start to the finish. They did a follow up the next day making sure everything was done properly and magnetically picked up loose nails. The gutter work was done the following week, and the gutter matched our house paint exactly. Well done Joe Hall Roofing!

Frequently asked

Is Joe Hall Roofing state licensed?
Texas does not issue a state roofing licence, so no Texas roofer is state licensed for roofing. What can be checked is insurance, RCAT status, manufacturer certification such as GAF Master Elite, BBB record and any city registration or permit requirement that applies in Arlington.
What is GAF Master Elite and why does it matter?
Master Elite is GAF's top residential certification tier. GAF states less than two percent of roofing contractors qualify, and only Master Elite contractors can offer GAF's strongest coverage including the Golden Pledge limited warranty on qualifying systems. Joe Hall Roofing appears at that tier on GAF's own contractor directory.
What does RCAT Member mean and is it the same as RCAT Licensed?
No, they are separate. RCAT membership means the company belongs to the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas. The Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned separately by an individual through RCAT's own programme. Joe Hall Roofing is listed here as a Member.
How long has the company been BBB accredited?
Its BBB profile shows accreditation since 1 June 1990 with an A plus rating, and records the business as starting 14 August 1989. That is one of the longer continuous accreditation records among Tarrant County roofers.
How serious is hail in Tarrant County?
The Dallas Fort Worth metroplex sits in the heart of Texas hail alley. Severe hail hits some part of the metroplex in most spring seasons and it is the dominant cause of roof insurance claims here, well ahead of ordinary wear.
Are Class 4 impact resistant shingles worth the upgrade in Arlington?
Usually worth pricing out. Class 4 is the top impact rating under UL 2218 testing and holds up better to moderate hail. Most Texas insurers offer a premium discount for a Class 4 roof, so ask your carrier for the exact credit and weigh it against the material cost difference.
What roofing materials besides asphalt shingles are available?
This company lists synthetic slate and shake with Class 4 impact resistance, natural slate, tile, wood shake, stone coated steel and standing seam metal, plus coatings and low slope systems for commercial buildings. Metal and synthetic options are worth considering specifically because of repeat hail exposure.
Do I need a permit to reroof in Arlington?
Texas has no statewide building code enforcement, so requirements are set city by city. Arlington and most surrounding Tarrant County cities require a permit and inspection for a roof replacement. Confirm who is pulling the permit before work begins, and get it in the contract.
Does WPI-8 windstorm certification apply to a roof in Arlington?
No. WPI-8 certification through the Texas Department of Insurance applies to the 14 first tier coastal counties served by TWIA. Tarrant County is inland, so a roof here is judged on wind uplift rating, impact rating and manufacturer warranty rather than WPI-8.
What should I ask a North Texas roofer before signing?
Ask for a certificate of insurance sent directly by the insurer, the exact product line and impact rating in writing, whether the manufacturer warranty being registered is a basic material warranty or a system warranty like Golden Pledge, the workmanship warranty length, whether crews are in house or subcontracted, and how hidden decking damage will be priced.
