About

TruPro Roofing & Renovations works out of 100 Commercial Circle, Suite 201, in Conroe, Montgomery County. BBB records show the business started in January 2022 and RCAT gives the same founding month, so it is a young company by the standards of this directory. It has been BBB Accredited with an A+ rating since March 2024. RCAT lists TruPro as a Licensed Roofing Contractor, with a commercial and residential roofing licence recorded against its qualifier under the CRRL credential. That is RCAT's separately earned credential rather than plain association membership, and it means someone at the company has passed the association's examination. The company covers both roofing and wider exterior work: roof repair, replacement and inspection, storm damage restoration, insurance claim assistance, residential and commercial roofing, siding, gutters, attic insulation, exterior painting and fencing. It names Atlas Roofing, TAMKO and Roser as shingle brands it installs. Its Conroe page is specific about local conditions, pointing to the spring hail cells that track the I-45 corridor, to hail bruising that does not leak straight away but shortens shingle life, and to wind-lifted edges on lakeside properties. Published service areas run from Conroe out to Willis, Montgomery, The Woodlands, Spring, Magnolia, Tomball, Cypress, Woodforest, Atascocita, Sugar Land and Houston. Its stated NRCA, HARCA and Google Guaranteed credentials are company claims that were not confirmed at source.

Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this licence yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search — search #03-0726 or the company name.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

I called Bruce after taking a look at reviews and he was all the bit of professionalism as depicted! My circumstances changed and we didn’t end up working with TruPro on my project, but I wanted to share how much I appreciated the detail, innovation, and transparency provided during the inspection that will forever keep me mindful of their services. What I liked most is the level of experience that became apparent as Bruce described options and even acknowledged the budget we were trying to stay within. He invested time to throughly check our issues, as well as those that might be related to it, and I didn’t feel pressured or as if I was being sold services I didn’t need. Call ‘em up! You’ll notice the difference right away!

Bruce was very professional and thorough with his inspection. Very prompt to send and explain the outcome. Sad that I could not do business with him since my roof is in good condition, but I would definitely keep him in mind and as a contact, should a neef arise.

I recently hired TruPro to address a leaking roof on a 7,000 square foot commercial remodel. The roof had multiple leaks, some of which we were unaware of until their team conducted a comprehensive inspection. From the safety paperwork required for this project to the exceptional workmanship and fair pricing, this team exceeded my expectations and provided everything I could have asked for to ensure the success of my customer’s project. I highly recommend TruPro and look forward to working with them on future projects.

The best contractor experience we've ever had! I cannot express how impressed I am with this company. They came in, removed my old deck, had materials delivered, and finished the entire project in less than a week. Meaning, from the first conversation, to a finished project was one week. Amazing.. They saved and stacked the good wood from my old deck as a courtesy, and stacked the leftover wood from the new deck. Left the extra nails and treated my property with respect. Joel and Bruce were fantastic to work with. When I started to have concerns over moving too quickly, they stopped what they were doing, listen to my concerns, and made the appropriate adjustments to make me feel confident. Since this was my first big home purchase, that meant a lot to my wife and I. Well done TruPro! I look forward to the roof project next! Matt

Frequently asked

Is TruPro Roofing licensed by the State of Texas?
Texas issues no state roofing licence, so no Texas roofer has one. What TruPro does hold is RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential. The RCAT directory records a commercial and residential roofing licence against its qualifier under the CRRL designation. That is an association credential earned by examination and maintained with continuing education, not a government licence.
What is the difference between RCAT Member and RCAT Licensed?
RCAT Member simply means the company pays dues to the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas. The Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL for commercial and residential, RRL for residential, CRL for commercial) is earned separately by an individual through an examination. TruPro is listed as Licensed, which is the higher of the two. Any roofer who presents plain membership as a licence is overstating it.
How bad is hail in Conroe and Montgomery County?
Serious enough to shape roofing decisions. TruPro's own Conroe page points to spring hail cells that track along the I-45 corridor and to hail bruising that does not leak immediately but shortens shingle life, which is the pattern most homeowners here miss. Damage that never drips can still cut years off a roof, so an inspection after a significant storm is worth doing even if nothing is leaking.
Are Class 4 impact-resistant shingles worth it in Montgomery County?
They are worth pricing. Class 4 is the top rating under the UL 2218 steel-ball impact test, and most Texas insurers offer a premium credit for a Class 4 roof. In an area that sees spring hail plus the heat cycling that stresses asphalt through a Gulf Coast summer, the more robust mat can be a reasonable upgrade. Ask your insurer what the discount is on your specific policy before you commit.
How do hail and storm insurance claims work here?
Document the storm date, get an inspection, and file promptly rather than waiting. Two policy features drive your outcome: replacement cost value versus actual cash value coverage, and whether you carry a separate wind and hail deductible, which is often a percentage of the dwelling value. In Texas it is illegal for a contractor to pay, waive or rebate your deductible, so treat any such offer as a warning sign. TruPro markets insurance claim assistance.
Do I need a permit to replace a roof in Conroe?
Texas has no statewide building code enforcement, so this is decided locally. The City of Conroe runs its own permitting and inspections, and reroofing generally requires a permit. Properties in unincorporated Montgomery County follow different rules again, so confirm which authority covers your address. Your contractor should pull the permit and be able to name the inspections that apply.
How do I verify a roofer's insurance before work starts?
Ask the roofer's insurance agent to send you the certificate of insurance directly, not a copy passed along by the contractor. You want general liability, and workers compensation if the crews are employees rather than subcontractors. Texas does not require roofers to carry workers compensation, so ask specifically. Check that policy dates run past your expected completion date.
What shingle brands does TruPro install?
Its own site names Atlas Roofing, TAMKO and Roser. Knowing the brand matters because the manufacturer warranty is tied to the product and, in some cases, to the installer's certification level with that manufacturer. Ask which specific product line is being quoted, what its impact rating is, and what warranty is registered on completion.
What should I ask before signing a roofing contract in Texas?
Get the scope in writing: decking replacement rate per sheet, underlayment type, ventilation work, flashing and drip edge, debris removal and who pulls the permit. Ask what the workmanship warranty covers and for how long, separate from the manufacturer warranty. Ask whether the price is contingent on an insurance settlement. Check the company's BBB record and RCAT status. Do not pay in full before the job is finished and inspected.
How long does a roof replacement take in the Conroe area?
A typical single-family asphalt shingle replacement is usually a one to two day tear-off and install once materials are on site, weather permitting. The scheduling around it takes longer: inspection, insurance adjusting if a claim is involved, material selection, permit and crew availability. Gulf Coast summer storms and spring hail season both push dates, so ask for a realistic window rather than a single fixed day.
