About

TexPro Roofing & Construction operates from 1300 S Frazier Street, Suite 111 in Conroe. Better Business Bureau records show the business started on 7 May 2025 with Dustin Landry as chief executive, and the company became BBB accredited on 16 January 2026 with an A rating. The RCAT directory lists TexPro Roofing & Construction LLC as a member since 2026. This is a young company, and the site's reference to more than 25 years of experience is presented as combined experience across the team rather than the age of the business. The published service range covers residential and commercial roof replacement, new construction roofing, leak detection and repair, storm and hail damage repair, waterproofing, and insurance claim assistance, alongside a construction arm handling kitchen and bathroom updates, room additions and custom renovations. Materials named are asphalt shingle, metal roofing systems and flat or low-slope roofing. The company advertises a round-the-clock emergency response for active roof leaks. Conroe sits in Montgomery County, inland in the Houston region, so the relevant risks are wind and hail from thunderstorms and the outer bands of tropical systems rather than the coastal windstorm certification regime. Montgomery County is not one of the fourteen first-tier coastal counties, so a WPI-8 windstorm certificate does not apply here. Permitting is handled locally by the City of Conroe or Montgomery County depending on where the property sits, since Texas has no statewide building code administration.

Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

Dustin is the real deal! Fast to get me a quote, extremely responsive, helped me with answers to any questions I had, and made great recommendations based on his experience. This was a partial roof replacement that needed a quality matching shingle, and they got extremely close on the color match to the point it’s hard to tell the difference between the new and old side of the roof. They were done within a day, and cleaned up all the debris etc. before they left the job site. Couldn’t ask for anything more than that! Will definitely be using Texpro for my next roof, and will be referring my friends to them. If you’re looking for a great roof contractor look no further. Call them for a quote.

Dustin and his crew at TEXPRO Roofing & Construction did an excellent job on installing a new roof on our house. Not only was the roof installed beautifully, but Dustin spent a lot of time helping us decide on the right colors and also helped us find some special metal pieces we wanted to add to our roof. He also came by several times after heavy rains to make sure there were no leaks after the install. There were no leaks, but there was one small incident with the sheet rock, for which he immediately sent his crew out to fix, at his expense, and it was a non-issue. I would definitely recommend TEXPRO for a new roof.

Dustin and the team at TEXPRO Roofing & Construction are top-notch. From start to finish, the entire process was smooth, professional, and efficient. Dustin is incredibly knowledgeable, honest, and easy to work with—he takes the time to explain everything clearly and makes sure you feel confident every step of the way. The quality of work speaks for itself. The crew was punctual, respectful of the property, and delivered exactly what was promised (if not better). It’s hard to find contractors you can truly trust, but Dustin and his team absolutely deliver. If you’re looking for someone reliable who does high-quality work and stands behind it, I can’t recommend TEXPRO Roofing & Construction enough. 5 stars all day.

Frequently asked

Is this company licensed by the State of Texas?
No, because Texas has no state roofing licence. There is no government roofing licence in Texas to hold or to check. What you can verify is insurance, any city or county registration that applies, BBB accreditation, and RCAT status. TexPro is listed in the RCAT directory as a Member.
Is an RCAT Member the same as an RCAT Licensed Roofing Contractor?
No, and the distinction matters. Membership means the company pays dues to the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas. The Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is a separate qualification earned through testing and experience requirements. TexPro's RCAT record shows Member status, not the licensed credential.
Do I need a WPI-8 windstorm certificate in Conroe?
No. WPI-8 is the Texas Department of Insurance windstorm certificate of compliance required in the fourteen designated first-tier coastal counties served by the Texas Windstorm Insurance Association. Montgomery County is not one of them. If a contractor tells you a Conroe roof needs a WPI-8, they are confusing your area with the coast.
The company is new. Does that matter when choosing a roofer?
It matters for one specific reason, a workmanship warranty is only as good as the company that stands behind it. A business trading since 2025 has no long track record to check. That does not make it a poor choice, but it makes it more important to verify current insurance, ask for local references you can call, prefer a manufacturer-backed system warranty that survives independent of the installer, and avoid a large deposit up front.
How do I verify a roofer's insurance in Texas?
Ask for the certificate of insurance to be issued to you directly by the insurance agency rather than a copy forwarded by the salesperson. Check general liability limits and whether workers' compensation is carried. Texas does not require most private contractors to carry workers' compensation, so if it is absent, ask specifically who is responsible if a worker is injured on your property.
Are impact-resistant shingles worth it in Montgomery County?
Southeast Texas takes less hail than the North Texas hail belt but wind is a regular issue, and Class 4 impact-resistant shingles usually carry a higher wind rating alongside the impact rating. Most Texas insurers offer a premium discount for Class 4. Ask your carrier for the specific discount before deciding, because the maths only works if that number is meaningful.
Can a contractor cover my insurance deductible?
No. Texas law prohibits a contractor from paying, waiving, rebating or absorbing an insurance deductible, and prohibits advertising that they will. Treat any such offer as a warning sign about how the business operates rather than as a saving.
Who pulls the permit for a roof replacement near Conroe?
It depends on whether the property is inside the Conroe city limits or in unincorporated Montgomery County, because Texas has no statewide building code administration and each jurisdiction sets its own rules. Ask your contractor to confirm in writing which authority has jurisdiction and that they are pulling the permit.
What should I ask for after a storm before signing anything?
A written scope with photographs of the actual damage, a clear statement of whether the damage is functional or cosmetic, no pressure to sign an assignment of benefits or a contingency agreement on the first visit, and the contractor's own inspection findings separate from anything the insurance adjuster says. Never sign a document that authorises work at an amount to be determined later.
What belongs in the written contract?
The shingle or system brand and product line, underlayment specification, price per sheet for replacing damaged decking, drip edge, flashing and ventilation details, the manufacturer warranty being registered and in whose name, the separate workmanship warranty and its term, a payment schedule tied to milestones rather than a large up-front deposit, and a written cleanup and magnetic nail sweep commitment.
