About

Texas Edge Roofing and General Contractors, LLC is a roofing and general contracting company that publishes its main office as 450 Century Pkwy, Suite 250, Allen, TX 75013, in Collin County, with a toll free number of (800) 502-7663 and an email of info@texasedgeroofing.com. The BBB record names Bradley Deron Barree as managing member, gives incorporation on 23 January 2023, and shows BBB accreditation from 9 October 2023 with an A+ rating. The company's own site says it has more than 10 years of experience, which sits alongside the 2023 incorporation date as owner experience rather than company age. Published services cover roof repair, roof replacement, hail damage repair, residential roofing, commercial roofing, gutter replacement and radiant barriers. The BBB listing adds roof inspections, roofing consultations, roof leak repair, residential general contracting and radiant barrier insulation, and describes work on asphalt shingle, slate, shake and tile roofs, custom copper roofs, flashings and gutters, and flat roofs. Allen sits in the North Texas hail belt, so hail damage repair and insurance related roof work are the core of the local demand. The company lists three addresses: Allen, Round Rock in the Austin area, and Longview in East Texas, and its service pages name Allen, Dallas, McKinney, Frisco, Longview and Round Rock. We found no manufacturer certification for this company in the GAF, Owens Corning or CertainTeed contractor directories, and none is claimed on its own site, so no manufacturer credential is recorded here.

Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this licence yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search — search #01-0657 or the company name.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

My experience with Texas Edge Roofing and was great from beginning to end. The crew was very professional, respectful, and worked hard the entire time they were here. The owner personally stopped by and took the time to explain the whole plan to me, answer my questions, and make sure I understood everything before the work started. Their communication was one of the best parts of the experience. They kept me updated throughout the project and were always easy to reach if I had questions. The job was finished on time, and the quality of the work turned out even better than I expected. I’m very happy with the results and would definitely recommend them to anyone needing roofing work done.

Brad and his crew did a great job! He assisted with the claim process and handled multiple repairs. Interior ceiling repair, total fence replacement, gutters, garage door replacement, and total roof replacement(which is a big deal because I have solar panels)! That’s just some of what was done. Communication was great all through the process! Thank you Texas Edge Roofing!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Fantastic Service from Start to Finish! I can’t say enough great things about Texas Edge Roofing and especially Brad, who went above and beyond during my recent roof and garage door replacement. From the moment he arrived, Brad was professional, knowledgeable, and incredibly thorough. He explained every step of the process and made sure I was comfortable with each decision. Not only does my new roof look amazing, but the garage door upgrade was the perfect finishing touch—solid, clean installation and top-tier quality. Brad’s attention to detail and commitment to doing the job right truly sets him apart. He treated my home like it was his own, and that made all the difference. If you’re looking for a team that delivers excellent work, clear communication, and true integrity—Texas Edge Roofing is it. I highly recommend asking for Brad. He’s a gem! — Tweety Whitfield Heartland, Tx

Frequently asked

Is Texas Edge Roofing licensed by the State of Texas?
No roofer in Texas is, because Texas has no state roofing licence. There is no state agency issuing or revoking one. What you can check is insurance, RCAT standing, city registration where required, manufacturer credentials at the manufacturer's own directory, and the BBB file. Our record lists this company as RCAT Licensed.
What does RCAT Licensed mean, and how is it different from RCAT Member?
RCAT membership means the company joined the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas and pays dues. The Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is a separately earned RCAT credential with its own requirements. They are not equivalent. Our record shows this company as RCAT Licensed, which is the stronger of the two, and it is still an industry credential rather than a government licence.
Does this company hold GAF, Owens Corning or CertainTeed certification?
We could not find one. We checked the GAF, Owens Corning and CertainTeed contractor directories and the company's own website, and found no manufacturer certification listed or claimed. That is not a mark against the work, it just means no enhanced manufacturer backed warranty tier is on record here. If a manufacturer warranty matters to you, ask which one they can register and confirm it in the manufacturer's own directory.
Are Class 4 impact resistant shingles worth it in Collin County?
Allen, McKinney and Frisco sit in the North Texas hail belt and take damaging hail regularly. Class 4 shingles are rated under UL 2218 to survive a steel ball impact without cracking the mat, and many Texas carriers give a premium credit for a documented Class 4 roof. Check with your own insurer what discount applies and what documentation it needs.
Who pulls the roofing permit in Allen?
Texas has no statewide building code enforcement, so permitting and inspection rules are set city by city. In Collin County cities including Allen, a full roof replacement usually requires a permit and the contractor normally pulls it. Get it in writing who is responsible, and keep the final inspection record.
How do I verify a roofer's insurance?
Ask for the certificate of insurance to be sent to you directly by the insurance agent, not forwarded by the salesperson. Check general liability limits and current policy dates, and ask specifically about workers compensation, because Texas does not require most private employers to carry it. Get the answer in writing before work starts.
Can a Texas roofer pay my insurance deductible?
No. Texas law prohibits a roofing contractor from paying, waiving, rebating or absorbing your insurance deductible. An offer to make the deductible disappear is a warning sign, not a discount, and it exposes you as well as the contractor. Expect to pay it.
What is a radiant barrier and does it help in North Texas?
A radiant barrier is a reflective layer installed in the attic, usually under the roof deck, that reflects radiant heat rather than absorbing it. In the North Texas summer it can reduce attic temperature and cooling load. It works best combined with adequate attic ventilation and insulation depth, so ask for the ventilation plan alongside any radiant barrier quote.
What is the difference between the manufacturer warranty and the workmanship warranty?
The manufacturer warranty covers the shingle or material and comes from the manufacturer. The workmanship warranty covers the installation and comes from the roofing company, which means it is only as good as that company remaining in business. Ask for both in writing, check the workmanship term and whether it transfers when you sell.
What should I ask before signing a roofing contract?
Ask for a written scope with the material line and impact rating, underlayment, ventilation, flashing and decking allowances, the payment schedule, lien waivers, whether crews are employees or subcontractors, and which office will actually run your job if the company lists several. If you signed in reliance on an insurance payout that is later denied, Texas law may give you a short right to cancel, so read that clause before you sign.
