About

Str8Forward Roofing & Construction is a family owned roofing and construction company with an Allen office at 450 Century Parkway, Suite 250, serving Allen, McKinney, Plano, Frisco, and the wider Dallas Fort Worth metroplex. Its BBB record shows the business starting in January 2019 and incorporating in February 2021, and describes the owner as founder and managing member. The company's own site lists roof repair, full roof replacement, roof maintenance and inspections, storm damage repair, hail mitigation, gutter installation and replacement, and window installation. It also names in house Xactimate estimating. Xactimate is the estimating software most insurance carriers use, so a roofer who works in it can generally discuss a claim in the same line items and prices the adjuster is using, which tends to shorten arguments over scope. On credentials, BBB shows the company accredited since September 2022 with an A plus rating, and RCAT lists it as a member. The site also displays Google Guaranteed. No manufacturer certification from GAF, Owens Corning, or CertainTeed was found in any of those manufacturers' own contractor directories, so none is claimed here. Texas issues no state roofing license, so the site's licensed and insured wording refers to insurance and local registration rather than a state license.

Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this listing yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

Going with Str8forward was a great decision. They live up to their name. Their work was top notch and they were very efficient. Hugo was the representative who approached my door initially and I was skeptical to even talk to him due to previous experiences with other companies. I’m glad I gave him a chance because he delivered at every turn. Hugo made the claim process seem less and took his time to explain the contract line by line so I knew what I was agreeing to. I saw Hugo at least 8 times if not more throughout this process, something I didn’t think would happen after I gave him my initial business. He even came to supervise the work on the day they changed the roof. They also replaced my gutters, stained my fence, and changed my window shields. They had to remove and put back my solar panels in order to change the roof and that was also done carefully and efficiently. They made sure the panels were reconnected properly. Hugo came each time something else had to be done at the house just to make sure the work was done to my satisfaction. I would 100% give them my business again and recommend them to anyone who needs these services.

We had an amazing experience with this roofing company. The work was top-quality, fast, and clean. The price was very reasonable for the high-grade materials used. What stood out most was the excellent customer service and attention to detail. A big thank you to Miguel and his fabulous team—professional, respectful, and efficient from start to finish. They made the entire process smooth and stress-free. Highly recommend! Dylan Dr, Wylie, Texas

This is my 2nd time working with Froy. After the latest hailstorm, he called me and had my claim submitted and paid almost the next day. His crew had my new roof completed in one day and new gutters the next day. Great service and great attitudes! I will continue to recommend!

I totally recommend Str8forward. I worked with Hugo Cruz he was GREAT. Repairs were needed on my roof that was installed by another roofing company, that is no longer in business. Hugo was very detailed explaining issues causing the leak. He was overseeing the entire repairs. He provided me with multiple step by step pictures of the repairs. Hugo, thanks for everything. Thanks for explaining the state requirements for roofing materials.

Frequently asked

Is Str8Forward Roofing & Construction licensed by the State of Texas?
There is no such thing as a state roofing license in Texas, so no Texas roofer holds one. What you can check instead is general liability and workers compensation insurance, RCAT standing, and whatever registration the City of Allen or your own city requires. The company's licensed and insured wording refers to those, not to a state license.
What does the company's RCAT Member status mean?
RCAT is the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas. Member means the company pays dues and belongs to the association. It is not the same as RCAT's separately earned Licensed Roofing Contractor credential, which requires testing and documented experience. This company is listed as a Member.
Does the company hold a GAF, Owens Corning, or CertainTeed certification?
None was found in those manufacturers' own contractor directories during research, so none is listed here. That is not the same as saying they cannot install those products. If a manufacturer warranty tier matters to you, ask the company directly for its contractor ID and check it on the manufacturer's site.
What is Xactimate and why does it come up?
Xactimate is the estimating software most insurance carriers and independent adjusters use to price repairs. A contractor who writes estimates in the same software can line up scope and pricing with the adjuster's numbers instead of arguing from a different format. The company names it as an in house capability.
Are Class 4 impact resistant shingles worth it in Collin County?
Collin County sits in the North Texas hail belt, so it is one of the better places in the country for a Class 4 roof. Class 4 is the top rating in the UL 2218 steel ball impact test. Many Texas insurers discount premiums for it. Ask your own carrier what the discount is before you pay for the upgrade.
Do I need a permit to replace a roof in Allen or McKinney?
Usually yes. Texas has no statewide building code enforcement, so each city sets its own permit and inspection rules. Allen, McKinney, Plano, and Frisco all run their own processes. Have the contractor pull the permit in the company's name and give you the closed inspection record when the job is done.
Who handles the insurance claim, me or the roofer?
In Texas the policyholder owns the claim. A roofer can inspect, document, meet the adjuster, and submit supplements, but the contract and the settlement are yours. Keep the carrier's scope and estimate in your own file, and be wary of any agreement that assigns your claim proceeds to the contractor.
What does the company actually cover besides roofing?
Its own pages name gutter installation and replacement and window installation alongside the roofing work, plus roof maintenance and inspection programmes. That matters after hail, because the same storm that takes out shingles often dents gutters and breaks glazing.
Does WPI-8 windstorm certification apply to an Allen roof?
No. WPI-8 is the Texas Department of Insurance windstorm inspection certificate used in the 14 first tier Gulf Coast counties served by the Texas Windstorm Insurance Association. Collin County is inland and is not one of them, so WPI-8 does not apply to roofing work in Allen.
What should I ask before signing a contract?
Ask for the certificate of insurance direct from the insurer, not from the salesperson. Ask whether crews are employees or subcontractors. Get the shingle line, underlayment, ventilation, and any manufacturer warranty written into the contract rather than promised verbally. Ask who pulls the permit. And do not sign a contingency agreement that ties you to the roofer before your carrier has issued a scope.
