About

Springtree Restoration is a roofing and restoration general contractor headquartered at 104 South Austin Drive in Allen, Collin County, with additional offices listed in Frisco and Gainesville. Roofing is a genuine core service line here rather than a sideline attached to general storm restoration. The Better Business Bureau files the company under roofing contractors, metal roofing contractors and commercial roofing as well as water and fire damage restoration, the company runs its own in house metal fabrication under the name SR Premier Metal Works, and it holds shingle manufacturer credentials that only roofing contractors can earn. Those manufacturer credentials check out on the manufacturers' own directories rather than only on the company's website. GAF lists Springtree Restoration LLC as a Master Elite contractor, and CertainTeed's contractor profile shows a SELECT ShingleMaster credential held since 2017. The Better Business Bureau has the company accredited since January 2019 at an A+ rating, with AJ Huckaby named as owner and managing member. Huckaby has served as board president of the North Texas Roofing Contractors Association and sits on the board of the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas. The work covers residential and commercial roofing, metal roofing in standing seam and R panel with custom accessories such as chimney chases, coping caps and awnings, flat and low slope systems, roof inspections and storm damage repair, plus fire and water restoration with interior and exterior renovation. Published service areas run across the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex and North Texas, including Allen, Frisco, Plano, McKinney, Garland, Irving, Arlington, Denton, Sachse, Sherman and Gainesville.

Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

This company appears on the city's own list of registered contractors. The city publishes no certificate number or expiry date for this programme, so ask to see the registration itself before work starts.

Confirm this licence yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search — search #01-0245 or the company name.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

On 1/17/24 I had a frozen pipe break and flooded my house. The Remediation Company came out to clean up the water and introduced me to Springtree Restoration. I can’t say enough about how AMAZING this company is!! They are very knowledgeable about the industry they are in and processes with Insurance Claims. AJ, James, Al, and Nate are AMAZING. Very patient with questions I asked, Kept in direct contact with me at all times. They had 40 other projects going on at the same time and they made me feel like I was their only project!!! They made me feel like Family. I can’t rave about them enough!! They made a very nerve racking experience at ease in my mind. 100% trusted and respected their feedback on areas that were unknown to me. THANK YOU!! I LOVE my new home!!!

You can’t get a better team of professionals when you hired Jay and his crew at Springtree Restoration. We hired Jay to correct all the mistakes our builder did to our metal roof. We’ve only experienced professional, courteous and always on time team.

Aj, Roy and their team at Springtree Restoration provided top notch service. We had thorough communication throughout the process. They used top materials for our roof, gutters, window and exterior paint and we are extremely happy with the outcome of all our hail damage repair. Thank you so much! We recommend them to everyone we know!

I couldn’t be more pleased with Springtree Restoration! A friend recommended them to me, and I’m so glad I chose their team. After hail damage, I needed a new roof and gutters, and they did an exceptional job from start to finish. I was fortunate to work with AJ—he was phenomenal throughout the process. Jaime oversaw the project, answered all my questions, and really took the time to listen, which I greatly appreciated. The entire team, including the contractors they work with, was professional, respectful, honest, and reliable—and their pricing was excellent. I truly can’t say enough good things about this company. They’re the best contractor around, and I would recommend them to anyone without hesitation. I’ll definitely reach out to them again in the future. Kudos to everyone involved, and thank you for an outstanding job!

Frequently asked

Is Springtree Restoration a roofing company or a general restoration company?
Both, and roofing is a genuine core trade rather than an add on. It works as a full service general contractor covering fire and water restoration and interior and exterior renovation, but the Better Business Bureau files it under roofing contractors, metal roofing contractors and commercial roofing, it runs its own metal roofing fabrication division, and it holds shingle manufacturer credentials that only roofing contractors can earn.
Is Springtree Restoration licensed by the State of Texas?
Texas does not issue a statewide roofing contractor licence, so no Texas roofer holds one. Verification rests on insurance, city or county registration where required, and voluntary industry credentials. Springtree carries the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas Licensed Roofing Contractor credential and is BBB accredited with an A+ rating.
What does the RCAT Licensed Roofing Contractor credential mean, and how is it different from membership?
Plain RCAT membership means a company belongs to the association and pays dues. The Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned separately through RCAT's own testing and experience requirements. They are not equivalent, and only the credential reflects an assessment of the contractor. Springtree holds the Licensed credential, and its owner also serves on the RCAT board.
Are the manufacturer certifications verifiable?
Yes, and they were checked at source. GAF's own contractor directory lists Springtree Restoration LLC as a Master Elite contractor, and CertainTeed's contractor profile shows a SELECT ShingleMaster credential held since 2017. Always confirm a claimed certification on the manufacturer's own site rather than on a badge in a proposal, because badges are easy to copy.
Should I get Class 4 impact resistant shingles in Collin County?
It is worth pricing seriously. Collin County sits in the North Texas hail belt, which is among the most hail damaged areas in the country. Class 4 shingles are rated against the UL 2218 steel ball impact test, and most Texas insurers offer a premium discount for a Class 4 roof. Ask your carrier what discount applies before you pick a shingle, because the discount can recover a large part of the upgrade over the roof's life.
Does the company do metal roofing?
Yes, and it fabricates in house. Its metal division offers standing seam, which uses raised interlocking seams for a watertight surface, and R panel, which it presents as a lower cost option for both homes and commercial buildings. It also makes custom metal accessories including chimney chases, coping caps, metal roof caps and trim, and metal porches and awnings.
What commercial roofing systems does it install?
Its published commercial work covers flat and low slope systems including TPO and EPDM membranes and modified bitumen, plus metal roofing and roof coatings. Commercial reroofs in North Texas are usually driven by hail bruising to the membrane, so ask for an infrared or core sample assessment rather than a visual only report on a flat roof.
Do I need a permit for a roof replacement in Allen, Frisco or Plano?
Texas has no uniformly enforced statewide building code, so permitting and inspection are decided city by city. Allen, Frisco, Plano, McKinney and Garland each run their own permitting, and requirements can differ on decking, ice and water shield, ventilation and inspections. Confirm in writing who pulls the permit and who pays for it before work starts.
How do I verify a North Texas roofer's insurance?
Ask for the roofer's insurance agent, then ask the agent to send you the certificate of insurance directly rather than accepting one forwarded by the contractor. It should show general liability and workers compensation, current effective dates, and your name as certificate holder. After a big hail event North Texas fills with out of area storm chasers, so this check matters more than usual.
What should I ask before signing a hail claim roofing contract?
Ask for the total contract price rather than just your deductible, a written scope naming the shingle line, underlayment, ventilation and any decking allowance, who pulls the permit, and the separate terms of the manufacturer warranty and the workmanship warranty. Be wary of anyone offering to waive, rebate or absorb your deductible, which is not lawful in Texas, and of anyone who wants a large deposit before materials are delivered.
