About

Qualis General Contractors trades publicly as Qualis Roofing & Construction. The Arlington office is at 6020 W. Pioneer Parkway, and the company runs six Texas offices in total: Arlington, Dallas, Plano, Keller, Aledo and Austin. BBB records show the business started in November 2019 with Kelly Foster as managing member, and it has been BBB accredited with an A+ rating since May 2020. The company is a full general contractor rather than a roofing only outfit. Roofing services include replacement and new installation, repair, maintenance, inspection and storm restoration, across both residential and commercial work. Beyond the roof it takes on remodeling, kitchen and bathroom renovations, patios and outdoor living spaces. Materials it lists include asphalt shingle, metal, aluminum, copper, clay tile, concrete, slate, EPDM and TPO. Qualis describes itself as a mission driven company that donates a portion of quarterly proceeds to charity, and it advertises 24 hour emergency response. Its site lists IKO Craftsman Premier partner status, NTRCA membership and RCAT status, plus recognition on the SMU Cox Dallas 100 list of fastest growing companies. It covers the Dallas Fort Worth metroplex and a second service footprint around Austin.

Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this licence yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search — search #01-0553 or the company name.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

Selling my home & severe hail damage was discovered upon inspection. Found Travis at Qualis as a preferred contractor of my awesome listing team at Brandee Kelley Group. Travis has been very professional & prompt with communications and directly coordinated to meet with my home insurance claim representative while I was busy working 60 hr weeks throughout this whole process. Additional issues with a required plumbing work involving a gas heater unit to be coordinated during the roof replacement & a handyman to seal the vent/hole as the new roof was being installed. Travis & his crew have worked seamlessly with the 2 other teams to get the job done in half a day! He gave instructions to leave the driveway clear at 6:45am for his crew to park their commercial dumpster & when we walked out of the front door at 6:45 on the dot, 3 trucks were already lined up at the neighborhood cul-de-sac! We hurried out in our cars feeling slightly ashamed we might've delayed them from getting started! 2hrs later, he even sent us drone shots of the work in progess! Needless to say, I definitely recommend Travis & his team at Qualis Roofing & Construction 1000%!

Ron took the time to understand exactly what I needed for my gutter installation and explained the process clearly. I was happy with the pricing, and I always prefer supporting a local business over a national chain when I can. The new gutters look great, and the installation was completed professionally. I would gladly recommend Qualis to anyone looking for quality gutter work.

Thank you so much Qualis Roofing and team for doing an excellent job on my roof replacement, I could not be more pleased! I saw several completed roof replacements they had done in my neighborhood and knew they would be one of the companies that I would consider. My quote from Travis Chrystie was so impressive! He walked me through the entire process and explained everything. His attention to detail, knowledge, preparedness, professionalism and overall presentation was the reason I decided to use Qualis. I knew I would be in good hands and I was!! Highly recommend Qualis!

We were selling our home and almost as soon as the contract was signed a hail storm came through and did a job on the roof. We’re seniors and we’ve dealt with a lot of companies over the years but we’ve never had anyone step up like Christian and Qualis. He provided the most responsive and reliable customer service we’ve EVER experienced. He was prompt to respond to any questions or needs and was on the job 100%. He saved the day for us and quickly oversaw every detail in making sure our contract could close exactly as planned. It was a miracle because the schedule was so tight. We are so impressed. Hats off to Christian for his hard work. Our buyers have a beautiful new roof to ease their minds and Qualis has a real asset in Christian. We’re so glad we chose this company. Thank you all.

Ron came out to inspect our roof after a recent storm. He thoroughly inspected the roof and found no storm damage, but he went above and beyond by resealing some exposed soft metals to help prevent future issues. He was very professional, knowledgeable, and took the time to explain everything. We appreciate his honesty and excellent service.

Frequently asked

Is Qualis licensed by the State of Texas?
Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so no Texas roofer has one. Trust is built on other things: current general liability and workers compensation insurance you verify with the agent, any city registration your job requires, manufacturer credentials, and association standing. Qualis is BBB accredited with an A+ rating and lists NTRCA membership and RCAT status on its site.
What is the difference between an RCAT Member and an RCAT Licensed Roofing Contractor?
Membership means a company pays dues to the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas. The Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (RRL, CRL or CRRL) is a separate credential earned through experience and testing. They are not the same thing and should not be treated as interchangeable. Our record lists Qualis as an RCAT Member, while the company's own website uses the phrase RCAT Licensed, so ask the company which credential it holds.
Why does hail matter so much in Arlington and the rest of Tarrant County?
North and Central Texas sit in what the insurance industry calls Hail Alley, and hail is the single biggest driver of roof replacement in the metroplex. Damage is often invisible from the ground and shows up as bruised mats and knocked off granules. Get a documented, photographed inspection after a significant storm rather than waiting for a leak.
Are Class 4 impact resistant shingles worth the upgrade in DFW?
Often yes. Class 4 shingles pass the UL 2218 steel ball impact test, and many Texas carriers give a meaningful premium discount for them. Confirm the discount with your own carrier first, get the specific product and class written into the contract, and keep the invoice, because the carrier will want proof.
Do I need a permit to replace a roof in Arlington?
Texas has no statewide building code enforcement, so permitting is set city by city. Arlington and the surrounding DFW cities each have their own roofing permit and inspection rules. Ask the contractor to pull the permit in its own name and to give you the permit number, since a contractor that avoids permits is avoiding inspection.
How do I check a roofer's insurance before hiring?
Ask for a certificate of insurance emailed to you directly by the insurance agency, not forwarded by the salesperson. Confirm the general liability policy is active for your job dates and that workers compensation covers the crew. Texas does not require roofers to carry workers compensation, so verify it instead of assuming it.
What roofing materials does Qualis work with?
Its published list covers asphalt shingle, metal, aluminum, copper, clay tile, concrete, slate, EPDM and TPO, which spans steep slope residential and low slope commercial work. It is an IKO Craftsman Premier partner, so ask which manufacturer warranty options apply to the product you choose.
Can one contractor handle storm damage beyond the roof?
Qualis operates as a general contractor as well as a roofer, taking on remodeling, kitchen and bathroom work, patios and outdoor living spaces. For a storm claim that includes interior water damage or exterior work, having a single contractor on the claim can reduce the coordination burden. Confirm each trade's scope is priced separately in writing.
How should insurance proceeds and my deductible be handled?
The claim payment is yours and the deductible is your legal obligation. In Texas it is illegal for a contractor to pay, waive, absorb or rebate your insurance deductible, and it is a red flag when one offers. Ask the contractor to work from the carrier's scope, to document supplements with photos, and to give you a written contract that is not contingent on a number nobody has seen yet.
What should I ask before signing with any DFW roofing company?
Ask for the manufacturer and exact product line in writing, the workmanship warranty term and what voids it, the manufacturer warranty and whether registration is required, who pulls the permit, how decking replacement is priced per sheet, how long the job will take, and how the crew protects landscaping and cleans up nails. Get all of it on the contract, not in a text message.
