About

Nick Ochoa Roofing & Beyond is a Stafford based roofing contractor working the Houston market, run by Nick Ochoa III. The BBB record shows the business started on 24 January 2001 and has been BBB Accredited since March 2004 with an A+ rating. It appears on GAF's own contractor directory as a GAF Certified Plus contractor, the level GAF entrusts to offer its System Plus and Silver Pledge limited warranties on qualifying roof systems. The work covers residential and commercial roofing: full replacement, repairs, flat roofs, metal roof installation, ongoing commercial roof maintenance, and 24/7 emergency call-out. Beyond the roof itself the company handles seamless and custom gutters, siding, and wood replacement, and it helps homeowners work through storm damage insurance claims. The company describes its technicians as factory trained and says it passes on manufacturer and labour warranties. The company publishes 12603 Flaxseed Way, Stafford, TX 77477 on its own site and its BBB and Yelp records use 13527 Stafford Road, Stafford, TX 77477. Both sit in the Fort Bend County part of Stafford, a city that straddles the Fort Bend and Harris county line. The phone number is (281) 568-0097 and posted hours are Monday to Saturday 9am to 8pm, closed Sunday.

Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this licence yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search — search #01-0348 or the company name.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

I want to ensure those of you looking for an excellent and trustworthy roofing company you’ll make the right choice with Ochoa Roofing & Beyond LLC. Ochoa Roofing installed my first roof replacement in 2002 and have maintained it until I decided to replace it again this year. Adolfo Jr has been looking after my roof since 2016 and was my obvious choice to manage the roof replacement. The “Beyond” in their name represents exactly what they stand for: Adolfo and Ochoa Roofing goes over and beyond to install high quality materials that include much more than the GAF shingles. You will feel safe under your new roof. Thank you Ochoa Roofing & Beyond and Adolfo Jr and his wonderful team for my beautiful new roof!

I truly love my new roof. Adolph is very professional and detailed. He draws you in by educating and showing the material that is been used and aftercare. Appointment time was honor so you are not sitting at home waiting. Clean up is 5 stars. I could go on and on. I will let my referrals speak. Need an excellent roof call Ocho Roofing.

Adolfo Jr is very professional. He takes his time to explain all the details and answers all my questions before, during and after the job. The price he quoted has the best value compared to my other quotes. The job was completed ahead of schedule. The crew did an excellent job and cleaned up thoroughly after they are done. I would highly recommend Ochoa Roofing and be sure to ask for Adolfo JR.

My experience with Ochoa Roofing was exceptional. Aldolfo was very professional and informative, he stayed in communication with me throughout the entire process. The crew arrived promptly as promised and the work was completed as agreed. Everything was left clean, neat, and free of debris as if they were never there. They went above and beyond to repair a small area of siding that was damaged and painted it to match. I would definitely recommend this company for anyone needing roofing service.

I had an excellent experience with Ochoa Roofing & Beyond for a roof and gutters replacement. From the very beginning of the quoting process, Adolfo answered all our questions and gave us all the options without pressuring us for a quick sell or upsells. The installation went as planned, the crew was always on time and cleaned up well. The crew also followed up a few days later for the walk around and the touch ups. Communication was really easy throughout the whole process. I highly recommend them.

Frequently asked

Is this the same company as Joe Ochoa Roofs & Even More in Stafford?
No. They are two separate Stafford businesses that happen to share a surname. Nick Ochoa Roofing & Beyond trades at nickochoaroofing.com, is run by Nick Ochoa III, uses the phone number (281) 568-0097, and its BBB record shows a 2001 start. Joe Ochoa Roofing, Inc. doing business as Joe Ochoa Roofs & Even More trades at ochoaroofing.com from a different Stafford address with a different phone number and dates back to 1971. They hold separate BBB profiles and separate GAF directory listings.
Which county is the company in, Fort Bend or Harris?
Fort Bend. Stafford is one of the Texas cities that straddles a county line, with most of it in Fort Bend County and a portion in Harris County. Both addresses associated with this company, 12603 Flaxseed Way and 13527 Stafford Road, fall on the Fort Bend side. That matters because permits and inspections are handled locally, not by any statewide code office.
Texas has no state roofing licence, so what does licensed and insured mean?
There is no state roofing licence in Texas and no state agency issues one. When a Texas roofer says licensed, ask precisely what they mean: a city registration, a general contractor registration, or the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas Licensed Roofing Contractor credential, which is an industry credential rather than a government one. Insurance is the part you can and should verify, by asking the insurer or agent to send the certificate directly.
What is the difference between an RCAT Member and an RCAT Licensed Roofing Contractor?
RCAT Member means the company pays dues to the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas. The Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is separately earned through testing and continuing education. Nick Ochoa Roofing & Beyond holds the Licensed status in the RCAT directory, which is the higher of the two.
What does GAF Certified Plus actually get a homeowner?
GAF runs a tiered contractor programme. Certified Plus sits above base Certified and below Master Elite. A Certified Plus contractor can offer GAF's System Plus and Silver Pledge limited warranties on qualifying roof systems, which extend coverage beyond the shingle itself to the wider roofing system. Always check the level on gaf.com rather than on a contractor's own site.
Are impact resistant Class 4 shingles worth it in the Houston area?
They can be. Houston sees fewer hail days than the North Texas hail corridor but still gets damaging hail from spring convective storms. Class 4 shingles are laboratory tested against impact and many Texas insurers give a premium credit for them. Ask your carrier what the credit is in writing before you pick the product, because the discount varies a lot between insurers.
How do storm damage insurance claims work on a Houston roof?
You report the date of loss, the carrier appoints an adjuster, and the adjuster writes a scope and estimate. Your roofer can meet the adjuster on the roof and point out damage that gets missed, such as bruised shingle mats, damaged pipe boots, torn flashing and dented gutters. In Texas a roofing contractor cannot act as your public adjuster on a job they are bidding, so be wary of anyone who says they will negotiate the claim for you.
Is Stafford in a coastal windstorm area needing WPI-8 certification?
No. WPI-8 windstorm certification applies to the fourteen first-tier Gulf Coast counties served by the Texas Windstorm Insurance Association. Fort Bend County is inland and not among them, so a Stafford roof does not need WPI-8. The relevant risks here are hail, wind and heavy rain rather than coastal windstorm.
How long does a roof replacement take and what disruption should be expected?
A typical single family asphalt shingle replacement is a one to two day job for a full crew, weather permitting. Expect the driveway to be occupied by a dumpster or dump trailer, noise from tear-off, debris netting around landscaping and a magnet sweep for nails at the end. Ask up front how decking replacement is priced, since rotten decking is only found after tear-off and is the most common source of a change order.
What should a homeowner check before signing a Texas roofing contract?
Get the certificate of insurance for general liability and workers compensation sent by the insurer or agent, not a photocopy. Get a fixed written price with the shingle brand, line, colour and underlayment named, rather than a contract that only says whatever insurance pays. Confirm who pulls the permit. Ask whether the workmanship warranty is transferable if you sell. Verify any manufacturer certification on the manufacturer's own directory. And never pay the full amount up front.
