About

Reign Roofing LLC is a Sugar Land based roofing company serving Fort Bend County and the wider Houston area. The business started in August 2022 and became a BBB Accredited Business in September 2022, holding an A+ rating. It is run by co owners Jeremy Williams and Joel Pond, who have deep roots in the Fort Bend area and say they founded the company after seeing too much poor workmanship in the trade. The team describes over 60 years of combined experience across roofing, construction and insurance. Work covers roof replacement and new installation, roof repair and emergency repair, leak repair, free roof inspections, storm damage assessment and repair from hail, wind and hurricanes, flat roofing, roof cleaning, gutters and insurance claim assistance, for both residential and commercial properties. Materials include asphalt shingles with Class 4 and impact resistant options, metal roofing, and flat roofing systems. The company is an Owens Corning Preferred Contractor. It operates from 19901 Southwest Freeway in Sugar Land and opened a second location at 1905 Dowling Dr in Richmond in 2025. It advertises 24 hour availability for emergency work, and says proceeds from roof replacements and repairs fund AEDs for non profits and donations to Child Advocates of Fort Bend and Montgomery Counties.

Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this listing yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

Excellent company. I’m really glad we went with Reign Roofing and had the chance to work with Jeremy and his partner Joel. We had a full roof replacement using Owens Corning Duration, with a total roof area of close to 4,000 sq ft. Out of all the contractors we invited, Reign Roofing was the only company that spent over an hour thoroughly inspecting the roof and decking before preparing their estimate. That level of attention gave me confidence that there would be no surprises later — especially the kind where the old roof is already torn off and suddenly you’re asked to pay several thousand dollars more for unexpected repairs. Other contractors mentioned they would replace a couple of plywood sheets at no cost, but anything beyond that was unclear, and pricing for additional work was not well defined. Reign approached this much more professionally and transparently. I don’t want to speak negatively about other brands, but one of the reasons I chose Owens Corning is their reinforced nailing strip, which helps ensure proper fastening and reduces the risk of shingle failure over time. Details like this matter. The crew (about 12 people) worked in a very organized and professional manner. Not a single plant around the house was damaged, and all debris and nails were carefully cleaned up. In addition to shingles, they installed new drip edge and flashing, improved attic ventilation, and replaced vent penetrations. The work started at 6:30 AM and was completed by 7:30 PM — all in one day. My advice to anyone choosing a roofing contractor: pay attention to the details. They make all the difference.

We hired this roofing company to repair my mother’s roof. The pricing was fair, and the shingles themselves looked good initially, but the overall experience became very frustrating. When the crew installed the new shingles, they placed them directly over damaged border wood instead of replacing it. When we questioned them about it, we were told they “don’t replace border wood” but that they would call if wood needed to be replaced. No one ever contacted us, and after we pushed the issue, they eventually had to come back out and replace some of the damaged wood anyway. The bigger issue came about two weeks after the roof installation when our hot water heater suddenly stopped working. We had two separate companies come inspect it, and both immediately asked if roofing work had recently been done. After inspecting the roof vent, they discovered the roofers failed to properly reseal the vent over the hot water heater. Because of that mistake, the water heater failed completely and had to be replaced, costing us additional money. When I brought this to the attention of the manager, Jeremy, instead of showing concern or trying to help resolve the issue, he became defensive and arrogant. He stated that in his 20+ years of experience, this had “never happened” and then tried to blame the issue on the age of the water heater rather than taking responsibility for the improper vent sealing. I understand mistakes can happen, but accountability and professionalism matter. Unfortunately, this company failed to fully complete the job correctly and did not handle the situation appropriately afterward.

Jeremy, Freyer, Connor and the entire team were so professional and easy to communicate with during our entire process of a new roof and drywall repair. We had a couple of leaks and they quickly sealed the leaks until they replaced the roof, giving us peace of mind. Their crew was timely and efficient, payment was so easy online. Overall very good experience and we would definitely highly recommend!

Reign roofing was amazing!!! I was under a time constraint and we were expecting a storm next week so I really needed help with my roof quickly. The entire process with Reign roofing was simple and easy and they did a great job. Jeremy called me right back whenever necessary and followed thru on everything. He had the roof done a couple of days later. Communication was easy, paid him right on my phone too. Would definitely recommend them and use them again!

Frequently asked

Is this the same company as Reign Roofing & Construction in Plano?
No. They are separate businesses with a coincidental name overlap. This is Reign Roofing LLC of Sugar Land, co owned by Jeremy Williams and Joel Pond, on (281) 301-5477 at reignroof.com, serving Fort Bend County and Greater Houston. The Plano company is a different entity with a different owner, phone number, website and BBB file, serving the Dallas Fort Worth area. Check the phone number and domain before you call.
Does Texas issue a state roofing licence?
No. Texas has no state roofing contractor licence, so no Sugar Land roofer can be state licensed for roofing. When a company says it is licensed and insured, the meaningful parts are the insurance and any local registration. Ask for a certificate of insurance covering general liability and workers compensation, sent to you directly by the insurer.
What does RCAT Member mean on this profile?
RCAT is the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas. This company is listed as a Member, which means it is a dues paying member of the association. RCAT also awards a separate Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) earned through experience and testing. Member status and the Licensed Roofing Contractor credential are not the same and should not be read as interchangeable.
Do I need a windstorm certificate in Fort Bend County?
No. Fort Bend County is inland and is not one of the 14 first tier Gulf Coast counties in the Texas Windstorm Insurance Association territory, so the WPI-8 windstorm certificate process does not apply to a roof here. Wind and hail coverage is normally part of a standard homeowners policy in Fort Bend rather than a separate windstorm policy.
What causes most roof damage around Sugar Land?
A mix. Severe thunderstorm wind and hail during spring, tropical systems and hurricane force gusts in season, and long term wear from intense heat, humidity and UV. Wind lifted or missing shingles, hail bruising and flashing failures around penetrations are common findings. A free inspection after any major storm is worth doing even if you cannot see damage from the ground.
Are Class 4 impact resistant shingles worth it here?
They can be. Class 4 is the top tier in the UL 2218 impact test and resists hail bruising and granule loss better than standard shingles, and many Texas insurers offer a premium discount for a Class 4 roof. This company offers Class 4 and other impact resistant options. Ask your carrier what discount it actually gives before committing, because it varies widely.
Can a roofer pay or waive my insurance deductible?
No. Texas law makes it illegal for a contractor to pay, rebate, waive or absorb your insurance deductible, and illegal to advertise that. If a company offers it, walk away. Plan on paying the deductible yourself and make sure the contract states the deductible amount clearly.
Can my roofer handle the insurance negotiation for me?
Not as an adjuster. Texas law prohibits a roofing contractor from acting as a public insurance adjuster on a property it is contracted to repair. A contractor can inspect, document damage, meet the carrier's adjuster on site and explain the scope. If you want someone negotiating the claim on your behalf, that has to be a separately licensed public adjuster.
Who handles the roofing permit in Fort Bend County?
Texas has no uniform statewide building code enforcement, so permits and inspections are set locally. Sugar Land, Missouri City, Richmond, Rosenberg and unincorporated Fort Bend County each have their own requirements, and some require contractor registration. Confirm in writing that your contractor pulls the permit, that it is included in the price, and that the final inspection is passed.
What should I check before signing a roofing contract?
Get a certificate of insurance direct from the insurer, a written scope that names the shingle line and colour, the workmanship warranty length and whether it transfers, confirmation the manufacturer warranty will be registered, who pulls the permit, and a payment schedule that does not require the full amount up front. Read any clause that ties the contract to insurance approval and check your cancellation rights.
