About

Paradigm Roofing is a McKinney based residential and commercial roofing contractor that has operated in Collin County and the wider North Dallas area since 2004. Its office is at 901 N. McDonald Street, Suite 1003 in McKinney. The company now markets itself publicly as Paradigm Roof+Shield and uses both names, and it has expanded beyond North Texas with additional locations in Houston and in Neptune Beach, Florida. On residential work the company installs asphalt shingles, metal, tile, Brava synthetic composite tiles and solar roofing including Tesla Solar Roof tiles and CertainTeed Solstice solar shingles, and it installs Tesla Powerwall battery storage. Commercial work covers TPO, PVC, EPDM, metal systems and roof coatings, alongside replacement, repair, inspection and maintenance across both sides of the business. The company describes itself as veteran led and says its two pillars are honesty and knowledge. Paradigm is listed as an Owens Corning Preferred Contractor in Owens Corning's own contractor directory and appears in GAF's contractor directory as well. It has been BBB Accredited since August 2023 and carries an A+ rating. The company also lists a string of North Texas Roofing Contractors Association Golden Hammer Awards and multiple Brava Excellence Awards. McKinney sits in North Texas hail country, so ask about impact-resistant (Class 4) shingle options and how the company documents storm damage before an insurance adjuster visit.

Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this licence yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search — search #03-0231 or the company name.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

Hassaan and Paradigm Roofing were the best experience I’ve ever had with a roofer (Out of the ten or so in my life). The work was excellent as well as the customer service. Hassaan handled everything with ease and removed the burden from the customer. The best customer service experience I’ve had in many years. You cannot go wrong with Hassaan and Paradigm roofing. We cannot say enough good things about Paradigm Roofing. From the very beginning, their customer service has been exceptional. They took the time to explain our options, helped us navigate the insurance process, and worked closely with both us and our insurer to find payment solutions that fit our specific situation. What truly set them apart was their flexibility, understanding, and professionalism while repairing our home as we were living overseas. Managing a major home repair project from another country could have been incredibly stressful, but the Paradigm team made the entire process smooth and reassuring. They kept us informed, accommodated our circumstances, and consistently demonstrated a level of care and consideration that is rare to find. Their expertise, responsiveness, and commitment to customer satisfaction gave us complete confidence that our home was in good hands. We are extremely appreciative of their support and would highly recommend Paradigm Roofing to any homeowner looking for a trustworthy, knowledgeable, and customer-focused roofing company.

I recently heard about this company through a friend and called them when I noticed shingles had fallen off my roof. To say we are happy with the service would be an understatement. They are professional, easy to work with, and had taken care of the repairs within the week. They made the process simple and hassle free. Every person I had contact with was A+. I would recommend Paragidm 100x over!

Wow! I truly cannot say enough good things about this company. My spouse and I are incredibly busy and often away from our phones, yet Ryan and Mark were nothing but patient, responsive, and professional throughout the entire process. We communicated mostly by email, and they went above and beyond to help us find the perfect skylight for our specific needs. On the day of installation, I had been down for seven days with the flu and was out of town, unable to be present. Without hesitation, they handled everything from start to finish, including seamless invoicing through an online link, which made the entire process stress-free. The installation crew was outstanding professional, respectful, and genuinely kind. It’s rare to find a company that combines excellent communication, integrity, and craftsmanship all in one. I’ll be posting drone photos soon, and I highly, highly recommend Ryan and Mark to anyone needing roofing or skylight work. Absolute top-tier service from start to finish. Thanks a million! Jamie M.

Frequently asked

Is there a state roofing license in Texas?
No. Texas does not license roofing contractors at the state level, so there is no government licence to look up. Verify a roofer instead by confirming active general liability and workers compensation insurance with the agent named on the certificate, checking the Better Business Bureau record, checking standing with the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas, and confirming any city registration your municipality requires.
What is the difference between an RCAT Member and an RCAT Licensed Roofing Contractor?
They are two separate things. Membership in the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas means the company pays dues and belongs to the association. The Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned by a specific individual through testing and continuing education. Ask a contractor which one it holds and, if it is the credential, which person at the company holds it.
Are Class 4 impact-resistant shingles worth it in McKinney?
McKinney and Collin County are in the part of North Texas the industry calls Hail Alley, and repeat hail events are the norm rather than the exception. Class 4 impact-resistant shingles are rated against a two inch steel ball drop, and many Texas insurers offer a homeowners premium discount for them. Ask your carrier what discount it applies before you commit, so you can weigh it against the upgrade cost.
What is a Brava synthetic composite roof tile?
Brava makes composite tiles moulded to look like slate, cedar shake or clay barrel tile but at a fraction of the weight, which usually avoids the structural reinforcement real slate or clay would require. Paradigm states it is a Brava certified installer and lists several Brava Excellence Awards. Ask to see completed local installations and the specific product warranty terms before choosing this route.
Does the company install solar roofing?
Yes. Paradigm lists Tesla Solar Roof tiles, CertainTeed Solstice solar shingles, conventional solar panels and Tesla Powerwall battery storage. Solar roofing is a much larger commitment than a shingle replacement, so get the production estimate, the interconnection process with your utility, the roof warranty interaction and the electrical work all quoted separately and in writing.
Do I need a permit to replace a roof in McKinney?
Texas has no statewide building code, so reroof permitting and inspection are set locally. McKinney, Frisco, Allen, Plano and Prosper each administer their own process and the requirements differ between them. Your contractor should pull the permit in its own name and schedule the final inspection. Ask for the permit number before the tear off starts.
How does a North Texas hail claim usually proceed?
The contractor inspects and documents damage with photos, a test square and the storm date, you file with your carrier, an adjuster inspects, and the carrier issues a scope and an estimate. A good contractor meets the adjuster on the roof. Note that Texas law prohibits a contractor from paying, waiving or rebating your deductible, so treat any such offer as a reason to look elsewhere.
What commercial roofing systems does Paradigm install?
Commercial work covers TPO, PVC and EPDM single ply membranes, metal roof systems and roof coatings, plus inspection and maintenance programmes. Coatings can extend the life of a sound existing membrane at lower cost than a full replacement, but they are not a fix for a wet or failing deck, so insist on a moisture survey before agreeing to a coating.
What should I ask before signing a roofing contract in Texas?
Ask for the written scope (tear off versus overlay, decking replacement pricing, underlayment, ventilation, flashing and drip edge, cleanup), the exact product line and colour, the manufacturer warranty and the separate workmanship warranty in writing, proof of current insurance, the permit plan, the payment schedule, and who supervises on site. Do not pay in full before the work is complete and inspected.
Is Paradigm Roofing the same company as Paradox Roofing in Houston?
No. They are unrelated companies with similar sounding names. Paradigm Roofing operates from 901 N. McDonald Street in McKinney with the domain paradigmroofs.com and has been in business since 2004. Paradox Roofing and Construction is a separate Houston company at 11311 Jones Rd W with a different domain and a different phone number. Check the address, phone and domain when comparing quotes.
