About

This is the Lubbock branch of Layne Tech Roofing, a family run West Texas roofing company headquartered in Abilene. The RCAT record for this location lists the office at 2200 N. Quaker Ave, Lubbock, TX 79415 with its own local line, (806) 773-2969, and shows it joining RCAT in 2020, four years after the Abilene headquarters record. Lauren Partin is the RCAT contact on both records. The Lubbock office offers the same residential and commercial scope as the parent company: roof replacement and repair, hail and storm damage work, insurance claim assistance, steep slope shingle roofs, and commercial low slope systems including TPO and modified bitumen. The company describes itself as veteran owned and family run and says it serves all of West Texas, which puts Lubbock County squarely in its stated territory. Credentials are held at company level rather than per office. CertainTeed's own contractor directory lists Layne Tech Roofing LLC as a ShingleMaster PRO since 2009 and a Low-Slope Roofing Master since 2016, registered to the Abilene address. The company is BBB Accredited with an A+ rating, accredited since February 18, 2008, again under the Abilene profile. Homeowners in Lubbock should understand that the BBB record, the manufacturer credential and the LLC itself all sit with the Abilene headquarters, and this Lubbock address is a branch of that entity rather than a separate company. See notes for the full branch verdict.

Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this listing yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

Did a great job replacing our roof after hail damage. We had already moved out and rented the house, and they came in and replaced the roof within two days. Great work, use these guys for sure.

Layne Tech Roofing is an all around great company. Their workmanship and the quality of their roofs is second to none. Our two year old roof was damaged in the hail storms this year and after they were finished replacing it, it looked better than it did before the storm! Not only do they do phenomenal work, paying extra close attention to all areas of a roof that could cause issues down the road but, they are super efficient. The crew was done in a day and a half, from unloading materials to cleaning up and driving away. I have never had a job site left so clean. The crew protected my lawn ( which a was a huge plus for me) and continuously cleaned up their mess. The secretary was also EXTREAMLY helpful during the entire insurance process, I knew I was in good hands with them. Thank you Layne Tech, all of you, The Risters appreciate you and the amazing job you did. If you need a rood repaired I HIGHLY recommend giving Layne Tech a call, you will not be disappointed.

Layne Tech Roofing did a great job of roof replacement, new skylights, fascia replacement and assisting with navigation of the insurance claim process! Their crew is skilled and very professional! A couple of days ago I called about a small piece of fascia that had blown loose! They sent someone out to help repair this immediately! You will always get five plus star service every time!

Layne Tech roofing has been phenomenal to work with! Everyone I have talked to has been extremely professional and kind. I have a weird schedule with being a nightshift worker, and they have taken that into account and worked with me. I called Monday, and by Tuesday they were out to look at our roof and give me an estimate, as well as take into account the upcoming weather and are planning on getting us taken care of before the rain this week! Update to add-not only were they extremely quick to come out and get repairs done on our roof prior to the forecasted rain/storms (within the week of me first calling), but they were affordable and did a phenomenal job!!

Frequently asked

Is this a real Lubbock office or just an Abilene company using a Lubbock address?
It is a genuine branch. The RCAT record for this location carries its own Lubbock street address on N. Quaker Ave and its own 806 phone number, distinct from the Abilene headquarters record. It is still one legal entity, Layne Tech Roofing, LLC, with the BBB profile and the manufacturer credential registered to Abilene.
Is Layne Tech Roofing licensed by the State of Texas?
No. Texas does not issue a state roofing licence to anyone. Judge a roofer on current insurance certificates, RCAT status, manufacturer credentials verified at the manufacturer, and whatever City of Lubbock registration or permit the job requires.
What does RCAT Member mean here?
RCAT is the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas. This location is listed as a Member, meaning dues paying association membership. It is a different thing from RCAT's separately earned Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL), which is not what is shown for this record.
Which certifications are verified rather than just claimed?
CertainTeed's own contractor directory lists Layne Tech Roofing LLC as a ShingleMaster PRO since 2009 and a Low-Slope Roofing Master since 2016. Those are confirmed at the manufacturer. No GAF or Owens Corning credential for this company was found in those manufacturers' own directories.
Why is hail the main story for a Lubbock roof?
Lubbock sits in the South Plains hail belt and most local roof replacements start as a hail claim rather than as ordinary wear. Hail bruises the asphalt mat and strips granules, which quietly shortens shingle life years before a leak shows up inside. A post storm inspection is worth doing even with no visible interior damage.
Do Class 4 impact resistant shingles make sense in Lubbock?
For many Lubbock homeowners, yes. Class 4 shingles are tested to resist impact far better than standard products, and most Texas insurers offer a premium discount for a Class 4 roof. Check the exact discount with your carrier before choosing, because it can offset a large part of the upgrade cost over the life of the roof.
Do I need a permit to reroof in Lubbock?
Texas has no statewide building code covering this, so the rules are set locally. Check with the City of Lubbock building inspection department for the permit and inspection your reroof requires, and make sure the contract states in writing who is pulling the permit.
What should be in the contract before I sign?
A written scope covering tear off, decking replacement pricing, underlayment, flashing, ventilation and clean up. Plus current general liability and workers compensation certificates sent from the insurer or agent, the workmanship warranty term, whether crews are employees or subcontractors, and the payment schedule. Never pay the full amount before work starts.
Since the BBB profile is under Abilene, how do I check this branch?
Ask the branch directly for the certificate of insurance and confirm it names Layne Tech Roofing, LLC. Ask whether the crew working your Lubbock job is dispatched locally or from Abilene, who your local point of contact is, and how a warranty call two years from now gets routed. Those answers tell you more than a directory listing will.
How do I avoid storm chasers after a Lubbock hail event?
Storm chasers arrive within days of a major hail event and leave before any warranty gets tested. Prefer contractors with a permanent local address and a long local track record. Do not pay in full up front, do not sign anything on the doorstep, and treat any offer to waive or absorb your deductible as a red flag, because that is not legal in Texas.
