About

KangaRoof is a family owned roofing company based at 1317 Sam Bass Rd in Round Rock, Williamson County. The Better Business Bureau lists the business as started on June 1, 2000 and incorporated on July 12, 2012, with Stacie Feller as the listed principal and alternate names that include Feller Roofing & Remodeling LLC, Feller Roofing, Feller Kanga Roof and Round Rock Gutters. The company operated as Feller Roofing before rebranding to KangaRoof in January 2017. It runs a second office in Grapevine that covers the Dallas and Fort Worth metro, but the Round Rock address and the (512) 388-7663 number are the Austin metro base. The KangaRoof name is a shared brand used by several independently owned roofing companies around the country, including Hornbeck KangaRoof in Ohio and Pennsylvania, Beemer KangaRoof, Paramount Kanga Roof and Big Rock KangaRoof in Arkansas. Brand members share programs such as the Overhead Care Club roof maintenance membership. The Round Rock business is locally owned and operated by the Feller family, so the relationship is a brand affiliation rather than outside ownership. It has no ownership or operational connection to Kangaroo Contractors of McKinney, which is a separate company with a different owner, entity and brand origin. Work is residential focused: roof repair, roof replacement in asphalt shingle and metal, gutters and garage doors, plus storm and hail insurance claim work across Central Texas. GAF lists the company in its own contractor directory as a GAF Master Elite contractor with President's Club recognition. The BBB shows an A+ rating with accreditation since December 19, 2024. The company also cites RCA license 03-0398 on its credentials page.

Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this licence yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search — search #03-0398 or the company name.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

You won’t be disappointed if you choose KangaRoof! All their employees were incredibly helpful and professional but I’d like to point out Craig who met me at my house at the beginning and helped me out of a tough situation. Stayed in contact with me throughout even though he had many other customers to deal with at the same time. I never once felt like I couldn’t text or call him and get an answer back immediately or within the hour. Truly a miracle worker. Wyatt was the head guy there during the installation at my house. Kept me updated throughout the day while I was at work. Came back personally to do a final inspection. And I feel completely confident in the work he and his team did. And Keelie! Keelie was a tremendous help contacting the insurance company back and forth throughout this process. She really took the weight off my shoulders having to deal with insurance issues that I was clueless about. A Huge Thank You to the entire company! Do yourself a favor and hire KangaRoof!

These guys are GREAT! We have owned our house for over a decade. KangaRoof has done all of the roof work we have needed. They do exceedingly good work, they are PROMPT, and they are FAIR! From the Roofing Adjuster Matt, through the Production Coordinator Omar, right down to the Production Manager Hanna — KangaRoof’s staff is pleasant, easy to deal with and puts the customer first! I HIGHLY recommend them! 5-Stars!

Kangaroofing did an amazing job from start to finish. The entire team was professional, kind, and extremely knowledgeable throughout the process. They took the time to answer all of my questions, explained everything clearly, and made me feel comfortable every step of the way. Their attention to detail and commitment to quality really stood out. It’s hard to find a company that is not only skilled at what they do, but also understanding and genuinely cares about their customers. I highly recommend Kangaroofing to anyone looking for reliable and honest roofing services!

After our own search for a roofing company we could trust, my Husband remembered his BIC Don who works for Kanga. Kanga did a phenomenal job putting up our roof. They were also very patient with us while we were trying to figure out our financing options. From start to finish everyone was excellent , from Andrew helping us with the paperwork and scheduling ,to DeAndre who oversaw the entire project. And of course the hard working employees who do this everyday in the heat. Hopefully we won’t need another roof for a while, but if we need another service, we would go back to Kanga 🙂

I was looking for a reputable roofing company that I could trust with reinspecting and repairing some vents and gaps in my 2 year old roof on a home that was recently purchased. ( I had had two other companies provide inspections and each of them had a variety of items on their repair list that were overly inflated…and the service was spotty.) I am sooo happy that I decided to reach out to Kanga. They typically do not serve the Temple area, but I decided to cross my fingers to see if they might consider looking at my roof. WOW!!! Stacie and Andrew (and Omar) made the entire process smooth from start to finish! From the moment I connected with them, I could tell that they were honest and practical about the needs of my roof. Andrew and Stacie worked hard over a weekend to help me schedule my repair. They went above and beyond and repaired my roof within days and before the next rain rolled through the area to help me avoid worrying about any roof leaks during the rain! They did excellent work at a very reasonable price!! I will definitely always reach out to them again for any roof needs! Thank you, Kanga!

Frequently asked

Is KangaRoof licensed by the State of Texas?
No roofing contractor is, because Texas does not issue a state roofing licence. Any Texas roofer's trust basis comes from current general liability and workers' compensation insurance, voluntary industry credentials such as RCAT, and city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires it. Ask for a certificate of insurance sent directly from the insurer or agent, not a copy forwarded by the salesperson.
What does the RCAT status on this listing mean?
The Roofing Contractors Association of Texas has two separate things. Plain membership means the company pays dues and belongs to the association. The Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned separately through testing and requirements. This company is carried at the Licensed level, which is the higher of the two, and the company itself cites RCA license 03-0398.
Why does hail matter so much for a roof in Round Rock?
Williamson County sits in the part of Central and North Texas often called Hail Alley, where spring storms regularly produce hail large enough to bruise or fracture asphalt shingles. Hail damage is the single most common reason Round Rock homeowners file a roofing insurance claim, and it is why impact resistant shingles and post storm inspections come up so often here.
Are Class 4 impact resistant shingles worth it in Central Texas?
For a hail exposed area they usually are worth pricing out. Class 4 is the top rating in the UL 2218 steel ball impact test, and many Texas insurers offer a premium discount for a verified Class 4 roof. Ask your carrier what discount applies before you choose, and get the product's UL 2218 Class 4 certificate in writing so the discount can be applied.
What does GAF Master Elite actually mean?
Master Elite is GAF's top residential contractor tier and GAF states only a small share of roofers in North America hold it. It requires proof of insurance, a track record and ongoing training, and it unlocks GAF's stronger extended warranties. The useful step for a homeowner is to look the company up on GAF's own contractor directory rather than trusting a badge image on a website.
Can a Texas roofer pay or waive my insurance deductible?
No. Texas law makes it an offence for a contractor to pay, waive, rebate or absorb an insurance deductible on a property insurance claim, and an offer to do so is a warning sign rather than a discount. You are required to pay your deductible. A roofer who advertises free roofs or no deductible is putting both of you at risk.
Do I need a permit to replace a roof in Round Rock?
Texas has no single statewide building code administration, so permitting and inspection are handled city by city and county by county. Round Rock and the surrounding Williamson County cities each set their own requirements. Confirm with the local building department, and make sure your contract states clearly who pulls the permit and who pays for it.
What should I ask before signing a roofing contract in Texas?
Ask for the legal entity name on the contract, a current certificate of insurance sent from the insurer, the manufacturer certification looked up on the manufacturer's own directory, a written scope that lists decking, underlayment, flashing and ventilation, who pulls the permit, and the workmanship warranty term in writing. Also ask whether the deposit is refundable and what happens if the insurance scope changes.
How does a hail insurance claim usually work?
You report the damage to your carrier, an adjuster inspects, and the carrier issues a scope and an estimate based on replacement cost less depreciation and your deductible. The contractor builds to that scope, and supplements are submitted if hidden damage appears once the old roof is off. Nothing entitles you to more than your policy covers, so read the scope yourself rather than relying on a verbal summary.
Is this the same company as Kangaroo Contractors in McKinney?
No. They are separate businesses with similar marsupial branding. KangaRoof in Round Rock is the Feller family company, formerly Feller Roofing, on the callkangaroof.com domain. Kangaroo Contractors is a McKinney company founded by Ward Vestal on the kangaroocontractors.com domain, named after his alma mater's kangaroo mascot. Different owners, different entities, different cities and no shared ownership.
