About

Family Friend Roofing & Construction is a Round Rock based roofing company with its headquarters on North Mays Street and a second office in Southlake serving the Dallas Fort Worth area. BBB records show the LLC started in May 2024, and the company states its in house team brings more than 8 years of hands on roofing experience. It is BBB Accredited with an A rating, accredited since May 2024, with owner Joshua Bovino listed as principal. The company handles residential roof installation, replacement and repair, storm and hail damage work with insurance claim documentation, and commercial flat and low slope systems. Beyond roofing it offers gutters, skylights, attic ventilation, siding and solar panel removal for reroofs. Service areas run through the Central Texas corridor around Round Rock, Georgetown, Cedar Park, Leander, Liberty Hill and Temple, plus the DFW metroplex from the Southlake office. Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this listing yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

I’m so pleased with the new roof installed by Family Friend Roofing. When shopping around, I contacted Lindsay Shappee inquiring about a new roof. She was very knowledgeable and answered all questions about what type of roof was needed. This company is 3 hours away but Lindsay took the time to drive over, meet with me, send a drone up for an exact inspection and provided a very reasonable quote. The roof was complete by a professional crew all in one day and the clean up was amazing. Once complete, there was no sign of anyone being there other than a new, gorgeous roof that adds so much to the house. I’m so pleased with the job done and the great customer service provided throughout the entire experience. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND FAMILY FRIEND ROOFING!

We are Guy and Charlene from Texas and we are pleased to say that Family Friend Roofing and Construction recently did a turn key Job on our Home Roof of 2700 sq ft LA and five outer buildings and the Project Manager Allen Fambrough and Part Owner Josh Bovino who were on the job site all hrs of daylight supervising and making sure that we were happy with their personalities and Workmanship, and Allen Fambrough was exceptional in every way , He did above and beyond his job description by picking up after the yard and seeing that all used building materials were delivered away from our property to a designated commercial site . To say the least we are very happy with thier Work and are more than pleased to recommend them !!! - Guy and Charlene

Kyle King has been great. They showed up at my house on Friday 3/13 and completed the inspection. Kyle and Hunter came back on Tuesday 3/17 and met with my ins adjuster who approved all repairs. Kyle came back to My house on Friday 3/20 and went over the estimate with me line by line. He was very patient with all my questions and took the time to explain everything to me. My new roof was installed on my house and 2 storage buildings yesterday 3/24. They did a fantastic job! I couldn’t be more pleased with how it looks and the whole process. It was such a smooth process. I will definitely recommend Family Friend Roofing to all of my friends and family. Thank you!!

If you need a new roof, you need to reach out to Aaron. I thought the name of his company was odd, but after working with him I understood why he choose it. Where others view this as strictly business, he views it as he is taking care of a friend. His competitors worry about there bottom line, short you out with cheap quality shingles and shortcuts. Aaron's company doesn't do that. Having had some experience in the trade, I was really impressed with what he recommended be used. I saw some roof packages being installed in my section of Teravista and was actually appalled by the materials being used. I don't blame my neighbors, because they only knew they were getting a new roof. If you want someone who has your best interest at heart, call Aaron. There is a big difference when your working with the owner of a company versus a college kid canvassing the neighborhood.

We had Logan Schepper come out to inspect our roof, and he was incredibly honest and professional throughout the process. He let us know that there was no damage and that no work was needed at this time which we really appreciated. It's refreshing to work with someone who is straightforward and trustworthy. When the time comes to get our roof done, we’ll definitely be reaching out to Logan, and we’ll be recommending him to friends and family as well!

Frequently asked

Does Family Friend Roofing hold a Texas state roofing license?
No roofer does, because Texas has no state roofing license. Look instead at verified insurance, RCAT status and reputation. This directory lists Family Friend Roofing as an RCAT Member.
What does RCAT Member mean, and is it the same as RCAT Licensed?
No. Member means the company belongs to the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas and pays dues. The Licensed Roofing Contractor credential is a separate, earned certification with testing. Family Friend is listed here as a Member.
Is Family Friend Roofing BBB accredited?
Yes. Its BBB profile shows an A rating and accreditation since May 2024.
How long has the company been in business?
BBB records show the LLC started in May 2024. The company states its team has more than 8 years of hands on roofing experience, which refers to the crew's experience rather than the age of the business entity.
Can Family Friend waive or cover my insurance deductible?
No Texas roofer legally can. Since 2019 state law requires homeowners to pay their deductible in full, and contractors who offer to absorb it are breaking the law.
Will they deal with my insurance company for me?
A Texas roofer can inspect, photograph and document hail or storm damage and meet your adjuster on site, and Family Friend advertises claims documentation help. It cannot negotiate or settle the claim, because only you or a licensed public adjuster may do that.
Are Class 4 impact resistant shingles worth it around Round Rock?
Central Texas sits in hail country, so Class 4 shingles are a common upgrade. Many insurers discount premiums for them; confirm the discount and any cosmetic damage exclusion with your insurer before you commit.
What services does the company offer besides roofing?
Gutter installation, skylight installation and repair, attic ventilation, siding, solar panel removal for reroofs, and commercial flat roof work.
Where does Family Friend Roofing work?
From Round Rock it covers the Central Texas corridor including Georgetown, Cedar Park, Leander, Liberty Hill and Temple, and from its Southlake office it serves the DFW metroplex.
Do I need a permit to replace my roof?
Texas has no statewide building code enforcement for reroofs; permitting is handled city by city. Ask the company who pulls the permit for your specific address before work begins.
