About

KPost Company, which also trades publicly as KPost Roofing & Waterproofing, is a large Dallas based commercial and residential roofing and building envelope contractor at 1841 W Northwest Hwy. Its own history page says the company opened in January 2004 with a core group of eleven roofing professionals, and other company materials name Steve Little, Keith Post and Jayne Williams as founders in 2003. It now reports more than 400 staff across 60 plus specialised crews, over 60,000 completed work orders and more than 1,240 commercial projects. The bulk of the business is commercial. KPost lists roofing, waterproofing and coatings, sheet metal, lightweight insulating concrete, repair and maintenance and solar, and describes itself as a full building envelope contractor rather than a roofer alone. It added a residential division in 2016, covering asphalt shingles, slate, clay and concrete tile, metal shingles and standing seam, synthetic and composite shingles, TPO and flat systems, plus inspections, leak diagnosis, hail and storm damage work and emergency repair. Its solar line includes conventional panels, Tesla Powerwall storage and the Tesla Solar Roof. Its portfolio includes some of North Texas's best known buildings, among them AT&T Stadium, Globe Life Field, Toyota Stadium, the Perot Museum, The Statler and the American Airlines Center, and it is the official roofing and waterproofing partner of the Dallas Cowboys and a roofing partner of the Texas Rangers. It was named Roofing Contractor of the Year in 2017 and lists memberships including NRCA, MRCA, NTRCA, TEXO, RCAT, ASA North Texas and National Women in Roofing. Note that KPost Company is not a BBB Accredited Business and its BBB profile currently shows a C+ rating, which is worth reading alongside the industry recognition.

Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Insurance Required by RCAT Licensed credential (liability and workers’ comp cover are conditions of this credential; ask for the current certificate)

City/county registration Registered — Dallas Check the register ↗ Contractor Certificate of Registration (Dallas City Code Chapter 52), registration type Roofing (RO). This company appears on the city's own list of registered contractors. The city publishes no certificate number or expiry date for this programme, so ask to see the registration itself before work starts.

Confirm this licence yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search — search #03-0071 or the company name.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

KPost did a wonderful job replacing my roof from the beginning of the project through to the end. Stephen Scroggs and team had excellent communication throughout the whole process and made what’s probably a stressful repair fairly easy and manageable. They really stood out from other contractors with their professionalism, responsiveness, and general knowledge. I’m glad we went with them, appreciate the great work they did, and would definitely recommend them.

Nick Scobee stopped by today and checked my roof for damage. He was very polite, professional, but personable. He found a few things for me to look at, and I just appreciate his knowledge and his demeanor put me at ease. Nick is certainly an asset to your company and I feel comfortable recommending your company to others for roof repair

I recently had Isaiah from KPost Company out to inspect my roof here in McKinney. He was right on time, which I really appreciated. 👍 Isaiah was incredibly professional and patient. He took the time to answer all of my questions, making sure I understood everything. After a very thorough assessment, I was so relieved to get the good news! He provided a comprehensive report showing my roof is in great condition and has no storm-related damage. It gives me fantastic peace of mind. Because of this positive experience, I will definitely be calling KPost for any future roof inspections or needs. I highly recommend Isaiah!

Don't use anyone else! 26 other companies came by before KPost and I didn't give any of them a minute of my time. Brooks Arrington came by and was so nice, I caved in and we climbed on the roof together. I had inspected it and having a class 4, felt pretty confident we came out good. But with it being the roof over my home... Brooks agreed after a thorough inspection. A few minor places, not worth a new roof for sure. Pointed out a couple things SuperRoof did wrong in installation but also a couple maintenance things I can do now. Thank you Brooks!

I bought a house for which K Post had installed the roof. They let me know I had two months left on my five year installation warranty! I needed a couple of things checked for me, and Davis Stokes came out and did a thorough look around and took pictures and then discussed what things looked like with me. He gave me an honest assessment that things looked good, and didn’t try to upsell me anything. He even checked on me after last nights storm! I looked through their Facebook page, and was very impressed at their business practices and the way they train and honor employees. They will be my first call for future roofing needs!

Frequently asked

What is the company's correct name?
The official name is KPost Company. It also brands publicly as KPost Roofing & Waterproofing, and older records and directories sometimes show it as K Post or K-Post. All refer to the same Dallas contractor at 1841 W Northwest Hwy.
Does KPost do residential roofs or only commercial work?
Both, but commercial is the larger side of the business. KPost launched a residential division in 2016 covering asphalt shingle, slate, tile, metal and synthetic roofs, alongside a commercial operation that has completed more than 1,240 projects.
Is KPost licensed by the State of Texas?
Texas issues no state roofing licence, so no contractor in Dallas holds one. KPost is recorded by RCAT as a Licensed Roofing Contractor, which is the association's own earned credential, and it lists memberships with NRCA, NTRCA, MRCA, TEXO and RCAT.
What is the difference between an RCAT Member and an RCAT Licensed Roofing Contractor?
RCAT membership means paying association dues. The RCAT Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned separately through RCAT's own requirements. They are not interchangeable, and KPost is recorded at the Licensed level.
What is KPost's BBB standing?
KPost Company is not a BBB Accredited Business, and its BBB profile currently shows a C+ rating. That sits alongside a long record of industry awards, so it is worth reading the BBB complaint history yourself before deciding.
What is a building envelope contractor?
It is a contractor that handles everything keeping water and air out of a building, not just the roof: the roof system, waterproofing and coatings, sheet metal flashings and details, and in KPost's case lightweight insulating concrete decks. On complex commercial buildings this avoids splitting responsibility for a leak between trades.
Does KPost install solar?
Yes. Its solar line covers conventional roof mounted panels, Tesla Powerwall battery storage and the Tesla Solar Roof, and its site displays a Tesla Certified Installer badge.
Are Class 4 impact-resistant shingles worth it in Dallas?
Dallas sits in North Texas hail country. Class 4 impact-rated shingles are tested to resist hail strikes better than standard products, and many Texas insurers give a premium discount for a Class 4 roof. Ask your carrier what credit it offers before choosing a product.
Do I need a permit to reroof in Dallas?
Texas has no statewide building code enforcement, so permitting and inspection are set by each city. The City of Dallas has its own requirements, and neighbouring cities differ. Make the contract state clearly who pulls and pays for the permit.
What should I check before hiring any large roofing contractor?
Ask for a certificate of insurance for general liability and workers compensation and confirm it with the agent named on it, ask for the workmanship warranty and the manufacturer warranty separately in writing, ask what the crew mix is between employees and subcontractors, and ask for references on projects of a similar size and roof type to yours.
