About

Canek Construction LLC trades publicly as Canek Roofing and Construction and works across the Dallas Fort Worth area. The Better Business Bureau places the business in Arlington in Tarrant County and records a start date of 12 May 2017 with incorporation in February 2020, while the company's own site lists a working address at 1617 Park Place Avenue in Fort Worth. Both cities sit in Tarrant County, so the county is the same either way. The company presents itself as a storm restoration specialist. Its published services are roof repair, roof replacement and storm restoration, together with gutter replacement, exterior repairs such as wood rot and repainting, and drywall repair. It advertises a warranty covering both labor and materials, and publishes hours of Monday to Saturday, 9am to 8pm. On credentials, GAF's own contractor directory lists Canek Construction at the Fort Worth address as a GAF Certified contractor, which is the entry tier of GAF factory certification and supports the System Plus and Silver Pledge limited warranties on qualifying systems. Canek is also a BBB Accredited Business with an A plus rating, accredited since 5 February 2021. Tarrant County sits inside the North Texas hail belt, so impact rated shingles and hail insurance claims are the usual topics for homeowners here.

Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this licence yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search — search #03-0698 or the company name.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

I could not have asked for a more reliable professional contractor. They had left a flyer in my door. I reached out to them asking them about putting my solar panel back up after they were taken down by another contractor who had them removed and never done any work. Cristian came by looked at the job and provided me an estimate to replace the roof as well as install the solar panels. He was very honest and kept keeping in touch until we came up with a reasonable price. When I tell you the date was set for the roof replacement and for the installation of the panels. The crew were there on time and they worked until the job was completed. They were very professional and provided excellent service. I would recommend this company to everyone I know that needs work done by a honest and reliable contractor.

Cristian and his crew at Canek Roofing & Construction were a pleasure to work with from start to finish. The pricing was fair and transparent. Communication was easy and clear—Cristian was thorough, responsive, and kept us informed throughout the entire process. He was honest about what did and didn’t need to be done, which we really appreciated. His crew was prompt and professional on site. The work was completed in just one day and all cleaned up by the end. We highly recommend them to anyone looking for reliable & quality roofing work. We’ve already got neighbors commenting on how nice our new roof looks. Thank you Cristian!

Cristian at Canek Construction was able to help when my roof took on serious amount of roof damage. Cristian and his team are experts to go to when there is concern of any damage to your roof. They worked professionally with my insurance and fast getting results. Insurance realized this was much more than patchwork from serious hail and wind damage. They finally approved for a new roof and fence repair. This was such a smooth experience with beautiful lasting results. I want to thank you a million times over.

I highly recommend Canek Construction as Cristian Rodriguez repaired our roof and fence a few years ago due to hail damage. Recently, I had to reach out for a dryer vent issue and he sent out an assistant immediately. I was astounded as he readily assured me that our roof was still under warranty and it’s rare to find companies that truly stand behind the quality of their work once a job is complete. I definitely have Canek Construction as a permanent go to for future house repairs!

We are pleased with the workmanship of our new roof. We were very fortunate to have found Cristian (owner) of Canek Construction. He goes above and beyond to provide excellent customer service. He is personable, reliable, straightforward, and communicates with each step of the process from claims to clean up. If you are looking for repair or replacement look no further. I will use their services in the future and I have already referred them to an acquaintance.

Frequently asked

Texas has no state roofing licence, so how do I check a roofer is legitimate?
Verify three things yourself. Ask for a certificate of insurance sent straight from the insurance agent showing current general liability and workers compensation. Check any manufacturer certification on the manufacturer's own website. Then check the BBB record and the company's registration with the city where the work will happen.
What is the difference between RCAT Member and RCAT Licensed?
The Roofing Contractors Association of Texas offers plain membership, which means the company pays dues, and a separately earned Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) that involves testing and experience requirements. They are not the same thing and one does not imply the other.
Is Tarrant County really that bad for hail?
Yes. Arlington, Fort Worth and the wider North Texas corridor sit in what insurers informally call Hail Alley, and severe hail events are a normal part of most spring seasons. That is why so many roofs in the area are replaced through insurance rather than out of pocket.
Should I put Class 4 impact resistant shingles on a Tarrant County roof?
It is one of the better upgrades in this part of Texas. Class 4 shingles pass the UL 2218 steel ball impact test and many Texas carriers give a premium discount for them. Confirm the discount amount with your own insurer first, because it varies a great deal.
What does GAF Certified mean, and is it the same as Master Elite?
No. GAF Certified is the entry level of GAF factory certification and allows the System Plus and Silver Pledge limited warranties on qualifying systems. Master Elite is a higher tier with stricter requirements and access to the Golden Pledge warranty. Both appear on GAF's public directory, so you can check which one a contractor actually holds.
Who files the insurance claim, me or the roofer?
You file the claim with your carrier. A roofer can document damage, meet the adjuster and explain scope, but in Texas a contractor may not act as your public adjuster or negotiate the claim on your behalf unless separately licensed for that. Be wary of anyone who offers to handle the whole claim for you.
Is it legal for a roofer to waive or absorb my deductible?
No. Texas law makes it an offence for a contractor to pay, waive, rebate or absorb an insurance deductible, and it is a red flag if it is offered. You are expected to pay your deductible, and the contractor is expected to collect it.
Do I need a permit to replace a roof in Arlington or Fort Worth?
Texas has no statewide building code enforcement for reroofing, so it is decided locally. Arlington and Fort Worth both operate their own permitting and inspection requirements, and Fort Worth also maintains contractor registration. Confirm in writing who is pulling the permit.
How long does a shingle roof last in North Texas?
Heat, UV and repeated hail shorten real world life compared with the printed warranty. Many North Texas asphalt roofs are replaced well before the nominal warranty period because of storm damage rather than age. Annual inspections after major hail events are more useful than counting years.
What should be in the contract before I sign?
A defined scope including decking replacement pricing, underlayment, flashing and ventilation, the manufacturer and product line being installed, who pulls the permit, the workmanship warranty length and exclusions, the payment schedule, and cleanup terms. Avoid large up front payments and avoid contracts that only become binding if your insurer approves a certain amount.
