Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

This company appears on the city's own list of registered contractors. The city publishes no certificate number or expiry date for this programme, so ask to see the registration itself before work starts.

Confirm this licence yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search — search #03-0540 or the company name.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

We are completely satisfied with the professionalism, integrity, and quality of work provided by Jason, Ricky, Edgar, and the entire Arrington Roofing team. Jason began assisting us with our roof issues back in April, and from the very beginning, he earned our complete trust. Our situation started when a home inspection, completed as part of preparing our home to be listed for sale, identified manufacturing defects in the roof that had been installed in 2022 after hail damage. Jason immediately took charge and guided us through the process of contacting the shingle manufacturer and submitting a claim. When we encountered delays in communication with the manufacturer, Jason was diligent, proactive, and consistently pushed the process forward. There were no delays on Jason’s part or Arrington Roofing’s part. Once the claim was approved, Jason again helped expedite the process through to our receipt of payment for the roof replacement. His involvement throughout the entire process reinforced our belief that Arrington Roofing was the right choice. During the early stage of the roof replacement, Ricky, the crew lead, provided drone photos and clearly explained that the roof decking also had serious issues, largely due to previous workmanship and materials. Jason walked us through our options in detail, and we chose to completely replace the decking so the new roof would have the proper foundation and be replaced correctly. Ricky explained the important details that ensured the new decking would be properly installed. Because of the decking replacement, the job took an extra day, and the crew worked long hours in the Texas summer heat to complete the project. Ricky kept me updated throughout the process, and I really appreciated his attention to detail, communication, and obvious personal pride in the work. He treated our home as if it were his own. One example that stood out occurred when the supplier delivered the incorrect color shingles. Ricky noticed right away that the shingles did not match the color of the roof being replaced and immediately asked me about it. Jason and Ricky then promptly worked out a plan to get the correct shingles delivered so the production schedule would not be delayed. They both went above and beyond to make sure the issue was handled correctly and efficiently. Arrington Roofing also completed numerous other items that had been identified on our inspection report, as well as additional items they found and repaired that had not been included in the report. Another aspect of the job that impressed me was Arrington Roofing’s quality assurance process. Edgar, the QA lead, was onsite to help ensure each step of the project was completed correctly. At the end of the job, Edgar completed a walkthrough with us and clearly explained both Arrington Roofing’s workmanship warranty and the shingle manufacturer’s warranty. I also appreciated that Edgar encouraged me to make sure my review was completely truthful, which reflected the same professionalism and integrity we experienced throughout the entire project. From start to finish, Arrington Roofing earned our trust. Jason, Ricky, Edgar, and the entire crew demonstrated professionalism, expertise, and integrity throughout a long and complicated process. If questions come up or if anything arises in the future, I am confident that Arrington Roofing will stand behind their excellent work. I highly recommend Arrington Roofing.

I can’t recommend Arrington enough. 2 1/2 years ago, after a bad storm, I called Arrington and Randy came out the next day. If he told me I needed a new right then, I would have believed him as it was old and in rough shape. But he told me he found no leaking and it could wait a bit. It would have been difficult to swing back then. Finally ready for that roof and he came back with samples and colors, and suggested I talk to my insurance agent about any possible discounts. A few days ago the crew came out and installed a beautiful class 4 roof, which the significant discount my insurance co is giving on my homeowners policy will pay for the roof long before it wears out. They also replaced some decking and did other work for us. A top notch company, they kept me in the loop every step.

Matt with Arrington Roofing provided excellent service from start to finish. They were professional, honest, and thorough in their assessment, and they explained everything clearly without trying to upsell unnecessary work. Highly recommend them for anyone needing a reliable roofing company.

Arrington Roofing installed our new roof years ago with Class 4 impact-resistant shingles. We are glad that this material has held up well after the recent hailstorm in our area and no damage was found. Randy from Arrington has always been very helpful and professional. We are grateful and happy with the service he and Arrington provide and would definitely recommend their services.

I had Arrington Roofing over to inspect my roof after we noticed a leak during the last rain storm. The guys were so polite and friendly. They did a thorough inspection of my roof and all the attic spaces and gave me a few different options to fix the leak. They made it really easy and took the stress out of the appointment. I decided to join their Club so they can check on my roof every year to hopefully avoid more issues in the future. Overall, it was a great experience and I would recommend them to anyone who needs a repair done.

Frequently asked

Is Arrington Roofing a Texas licensed roofing contractor?
Texas has no statewide roofing license. Arrington Roofing's owner, Chris Arrington, holds RCAT's separately earned Licensed Roofing Contractor (CRRL) credential, which is a step above plain RCAT membership and reflects additional vetting by the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas.
What is the difference between RCAT Member and RCAT Licensed for Arrington Roofing?
Plain RCAT Membership just means a company pays dues to the association. RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor designation (CRRL/RRL/CRL) is separately earned. Arrington Roofing holds the Licensed designation through owner Chris Arrington.
Is Arrington Roofing insured?
The company advertises $2 million in general liability insurance on its own materials. Homeowners should always request a current certificate of insurance directly before work begins.
Does Arrington Roofing handle hail damage claims?
Yes, storm and hail damage repair along with insurance claim assistance are listed among the company's core services, which is significant given Dallas Fort Worth sits within Texas's hail-prone corridor.
What manufacturer certifications does Arrington Roofing hold?
Arrington Roofing is a GAF Master Elite Contractor and a CertainTeed Master Craftsman, both manufacturer-level certifications that typically unlock enhanced warranty coverage.
Does Dallas require a roofing permit?
Texas has no statewide building code, so permitting is handled city by city and county by county. Homeowners in Dallas County should confirm current permit requirements with their local building department before starting a reroof.
How long has Arrington Roofing been in business?
Arrington Roofing was founded by Chris Arrington in 1983 and has operated in the Dallas Fort Worth area for more than 40 years.
Does Arrington Roofing offer a labor warranty?
The company states it offers a 10 year labor warranty in addition to standard manufacturer material warranties.
What should I ask Arrington Roofing before signing a contract?
Ask to see a current certificate of insurance, confirm the CRRL license holder is involved in your project, get the manufacturer warranty terms in writing, and get a detailed written scope of work before any payment changes hands.
Is Arrington Roofing BBB accredited?
Yes, the company has held BBB accreditation with an A+ rating since April 1995.
