About
Ahlers Roofing and Construction is a family owned roofing and construction contractor based at 2333 Minnis Drive in Haltom City, Texas, with additional office listings in North Richland Hills and Southlake serving the wider Fort Worth area. Founder Danny Ahlers holds RCAT's Certified Residential and Commercial Roofing License (CRRL, license #03-0250), and RCAT records show the company established in 2011 and an RCAT member since 2016. Beyond roofing, the company offers fencing, remodeling, and restoration services, and supports Sunshine Spaces, a registered nonprofit. It is listed with the North Texas Roofing Contractors Association (NTRCA) and carries an A+ Better Business Bureau rating, though BBB records show it is not a BBB accredited business. Third-party reviews are mixed. Some customers describe thorough inspections and competitive bids, while other public reviews, including one referenced in a BBB filing, describe workmanship disputes. Homeowners should review recent feedback directly before hiring.

Insurance & credential verification
Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.
Confirm this licence yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search — search #03-0250 or the company name.
Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

I only give 1 star because 0 is not an option. Ahler's destroyed our church by leaving an unsecured roof in place for several days, even though tremendous storms were forecasted. As a result, our sanctuary was destroyed, forcing us to strip everything to the studs, while also pushing us to meeting in a temporary location. To make matters worse, Ahlers, despite being paid in full for the work, has hired a lawyer and is refusing to participate in making this right. We've been left holding the bag for hundreds of thousands of dollars on top of the cost for the new roof. Avoid Ahlers at all costs.
I recently had a roof estimate done by Ahlers Roofing and Construction, and I am thoroughly impressed with the professionalism and transparency they provided. From the start, Juanita Eguia, was punctual and took the time to thoroughly inspect my roof, pointing out areas of concern I hadn’t noticed before. What stood out most was their honesty and willingness to answer all of my questions without pushing me into a decision. Juanita provided a clear breakdown of costs and gave me options for different materials, allowing me to make an informed choice based on my budget. She even showed up with short notice the day the insurance adjuster arrived. Overall, I felt very comfortable with their process and would definitely consider hiring Ahlers Roofing and Construction for the job. I highly recommend them to anyone in need of roof repairs or replacements!
We had a great experience working with Michael Hudgins and Ahler's Roofing and Construction. He was super professional and easy to talk to. Communication was solid the whole time and he always made sure I knew what was going on. There were a few tricky parts during the job but Michael handled them quickly and came up with smart solutions without any drama. The completed work looks great and he kept things on budget. This is our second roofing job completed by Ahler's and I definitely recommend Michael and Ahler's Roofing to anyone needing roof and construction work done right.
