About

Upright Roofing and Construction is a roofing and general contracting company based at 4451 Dale Earnhardt Boulevard in Northlake, in Denton County, working across the Dallas Fort Worth metroplex. The LLC was incorporated in August 2020 and has been a Better Business Bureau accredited business since June 2023, currently with an A+ BBB rating. The company presents itself as a full service roofing contractor and general contractor rather than a roofing-only firm. Its website covers residential roofing, roof replacement, roof repair, roof installation for new construction, and commercial roofing. Its BBB listing extends that into general contracting, metal roofing, flat roofing, patio work and interior remodelling, which is consistent with how it markets itself in the DFW market. Coverage is organised by county on the company's own site: Denton, Tarrant, Dallas, Collin, Parker, Ellis and Johnson counties, with dedicated pages for cities including Northlake, Roanoke, Flower Mound, Argyle, Trophy Club, Southlake, Keller, Fort Worth, Coppell, Frisco, McKinney, Plano and Waxahachie. That is squarely inside the North Texas hail belt, and the company's own county pages point at severe storms, hail and high winds as the reason a strong roof matters there. The site does not name the shingle manufacturers it installs or claim any manufacturer certification, so anyone comparing quotes should ask which brand and product line is being specified before signing.

Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this listing yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

I had a great experience with Upright roofing and construction. I have never needed to replace a roof before and I had no idea what the process was. Bad storms blew some shingles off and I knew I would need a new roof. I called Ryan from Upright and he scheduled Juan to come out that same day. Juan was great explaining everything I had to do when it came time to file a claim with my insurance. When the adjuster came out for his inspection, Juan came too, so I didn’t even have to be there. Juan was there with me every step of the way to explain everything in a way I could understand. I cannot stress how easy it was knowing I was in good hands and could trust Juan with everything. The only thing I had to do was pick out the color. I knew I made the right choice in going with Upright before the work even started. The job was done in a few hours and turned out great. They also did great cleaning everything up. Great work, great experience, great company. No one looks forward to having to do major repairs on their home, but thanks to Upright, I can honestly say it was a nice easy experience. And again, being able to trust Ryan and Juan with everything made it all the better.

Thorough inspection and transparency throughout the entire process by Mike Barnett our project manager. Helpful and effective with the insurance company. Honesty, always updated us on the process and listened to our concerns and answered our questions. The employees are professional and they excelled in their work. Our roof is beautiful and we are very happy with the work that they did. We will continue to work with Upright Roofing and Construction for our other construction projects in the future. Along with Jake Petty of Redemption Wood, llc. Highly recommend Upright Roofing and Construction for any Roofing and Construction jobs.

After a chance, meeting with Ryan and his wife one evening, we had noticed some ceiling wetness and called him to come look at it. Ryan came and did a roof inspection and an interior inspection and definitely spotted some serious problems. I turned everything over to him and his team and submitted Claims, which was denied multiple times by our insurance provider, but Ryan stayed with us all the way through after eight months and going to final arbitration. We got the money that we needed. Ryan and his team came in. Replaced the roof on our house in one day a few days later came back and replaced all the gutters and the downspouts and the next day a team came in and fixed all of our interior problems and repainted the majority of the interior of our house. They were there one week and completely transformed our house now to where it’s a stable safe house. I cannot thank them enough and I would recommend them 100% to anybody.Their bids were fair and they did exactly what they said they were gonna…do you can’t ask for anymore.

I came to Upright Roofing by way of referral from my son. I was very happy about the referral. All my contact was with the owner Ryan Robinson. He and his company made the whole process pain free. He did all the legwork with the insurance . The crew did a great job and were through around 4:00pm. They did a good job covering up plants and cleaning up afterwards. I had a great experience with Upright Roofing and would highly recommend them

Frequently asked

Is Upright Roofing licensed by the State of Texas?
No roofer in Texas is, because Texas has no state roofing licence and no state roofing regulator. The meaningful checks are different here: current general liability and workers compensation insurance confirmed directly with the agent, BBB standing, association membership such as RCAT, and whatever registration your specific DFW city requires.
What does RCAT 'Member' mean and what does it not mean?
The Roofing Contractors Association of Texas has two separate things. Membership means the company pays dues and belongs to the association. The Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned separately through testing and experience and shows as a licence number on the RCAT record. This company is listed as a member. Do not read membership as a licence or as a state endorsement.
Denton County gets hammered by hail. Are Class 4 impact-resistant shingles worth it?
North Texas is the hail capital of the country and Denton, Tarrant, Collin and Dallas counties see repeat damaging events. Class 4 shingles are rated against the UL 2218 steel-ball impact test and most Texas carriers offer a premium discount for them. Ask your insurer for the exact discount in writing, then compare it against the upgrade cost. On a roof that has been claimed more than once, the maths often works.
Who pays the insurance deductible after a hail claim?
You do, always. Texas Insurance Code Chapter 707 makes it illegal for a contractor to pay, waive, rebate or absorb your deductible, or to advertise that it will. If a door knocker after a storm offers to cover your deductible or to 'work with' the number, walk away.
How do I tell a local roofer from a storm chaser after a DFW hail event?
Look for a real local address you can find independently, a phone number that predates the storm, a BBB profile with history, references from your own city, and a company that will still be reachable in five years to honour a workmanship warranty. Out of state crews that appear the week after a storm and vanish by autumn leave you with a warranty from nobody.
Can my roofer negotiate the claim with my insurer?
Only up to a point. A contractor can inspect, document and meet the adjuster on the roof. Under Texas Insurance Code Section 4102.163 a roofing contractor may not act as a public insurance adjuster on a property where it is also performing or bidding the repairs. If a roofer describes itself as handling your claim like an adjuster would, ask exactly what it means.
Do I need a permit to reroof in Northlake, Roanoke or Fort Worth?
Texas has no statewide building code enforcement, so every city sets its own rules. Northlake, Roanoke, Flower Mound, Argyle, Fort Worth and the rest of the metroplex each handle roofing permits and inspections differently, and unincorporated Denton County differs again. Get it in writing from the contractor which permits your address needs and who is pulling them.
What shingle brands does this company install?
The company's website does not name specific shingle manufacturers or claim a manufacturer certification such as GAF Master Elite, Owens Corning Platinum Preferred or CertainTeed SELECT. That is worth asking about directly. Ask which brand and which product line will be on your roof, and whether the system qualifies for an enhanced manufacturer warranty or only the standard shingle warranty.
How long is a roof supposed to last in North Texas?
Less long than the brochure suggests, because hail shortens roof life independently of age. A standard architectural shingle roof rated for 25 to 30 years commonly gets replaced sooner in Denton and Collin counties after a damaging storm. Ventilation and correct decking and flashing detail affect real life expectancy more than the headline warranty number does.
What should be in the contract before I sign?
The exact product and system being installed, whether crews are employees or subcontractors, who pulls the permit, the workmanship warranty length and its exclusions, the payment schedule and what happens if the insurance scope changes. If the contract is contingent on your insurer paying, Texas Business and Commerce Code Section 27.02 gives you three days to cancel once you are told the claim was denied in whole or in part.
