About

Denton Roof Masters LLC, which brands itself publicly as Roof Masters, operates from 2500 Mingo Road in Denton and has been in business since 1983 according to both its own site and its Better Business Bureau record. The company works across the Dallas Fort Worth area on residential and commercial roofing, with a noticeably heavy emphasis on metal systems and in house sheet metal fabrication. The product range runs from asphalt shingle reroofs through standing seam and exposed fastener metal to low slope commercial membranes including TPO, PVC, EPDM and modified bitumen. Alongside the roof itself the company fabricates custom trims, flashings, coping caps and fascias, and installs metal siding, soffit panels, gutters and downspouts. It publishes a two year workmanship warranty on completed projects and a 48 hour response commitment on repair calls. GAF's own commercial contractor directory lists Denton Roof Masters LLC at the Mingo Road address as a GAF GoldElite commercial contractor, a status that allows the company to offer the GAF Diamond Pledge NDL roof guarantee with terms of up to 25 years on qualifying systems. The BBB profile for the business, filed under the name Roof Masters, shows the company as not BBB accredited, with a file opened in 1998.

Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this listing yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

Giving your money to them and earning their business is difficult. So what happens when they've actually taken your money and did the job? I sent an email/inquiry from their website portal; no answer. I called and was told someone would follow up w me; no answer. Business must be really good and they don't need mine. Must be nice! (2 stars vs 1 because I still tip 15% when service is bad, I assume some people have "off" days)

First-rate company, owned and operated by outstanding people. My family has worked with Roof Masters for our business and personal property for almost 50 years. I feel very fortunate to have a roofer that I can always count on to do a superb job at a fair price.

Roof Masters is a professional business with a kind heart. They were able to donate some shingles for a non-profit project. We appreciate their help and will be the only roofing company we use in the future.

Lousy Work, Got a Metal roof installed by this company in 2016 because I was going to have a trouble free roof. Now looking for other roof companies to fix their lousy work. Paid top dollar for a roof that 7 yrs later has a lot of leaks. Stay away from this company

Frequently asked

Is Denton Roof Masters licensed by the State of Texas?
Texas does not license roofing contractors at state level, so the honest answer is that no Texas roofer holds a state roofing licence. The meaningful checks are insurance, association standing, manufacturer certification and city registration. Denton Roof Masters appears in the RCAT directory as a member company and is listed by GAF as a GoldElite commercial contractor.
What is the difference between RCAT Member and RCAT Licensed?
RCAT, the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas, runs two separate things. Membership is a dues paying trade association relationship. The Licensed Roofing Contractor credential is earned separately through RCAT's own programme and shows up as CRRL, RRL or CRL beside an individual's name in the directory. Denton Roof Masters is listed as a member company.
What does GAF GoldElite mean for a commercial roof?
GoldElite is a tier in GAF's commercial contractor programme. Contractors have to be properly insured, keep a strong quality record and stay current on GAF installation methods. The practical benefit is access to the GAF Diamond Pledge NDL roof guarantee, a no dollar limit guarantee available with terms up to 25 years on qualifying systems. Ask for the guarantee to be written into the proposal, because it is not automatic on every job.
Does the company do residential roofs or only commercial?
Both. The BBB record describes residential and commercial roofing, all types of shingle roofing and custom metal roofing, and the company's own site covers shingle reroofs alongside TPO, PVC, EPDM, modified bitumen and metal systems. That said, the commercial and metal side of the business is the more prominent part of its published portfolio.
How long has Denton Roof Masters been in business?
The BBB record shows the business started on 1 January 1983, with the BBB file opened in 1998. The company's own site refers to more than 30 years and, in another place, four decades of experience. Longevity at one address is worth something in a market where storm chasing outfits appear and disappear after every hail season.
Is the company BBB accredited?
No. The BBB profile, filed under the name Roof Masters at a Denton post office box, shows the business as not BBB accredited. Accreditation is a paid programme and its absence is not by itself a red flag, but it does mean the BBB accreditation seal should not be claimed for this company.
What warranty comes with the work?
The company publishes a two year workmanship warranty covering installation errors, and holds proposal pricing for 30 days. Workmanship warranty and manufacturer material warranty are two different things, so ask which manufacturer warranty applies to your specific system and whether an enhanced or NDL guarantee is being registered.
Should I choose metal over shingles in North Texas?
Denton County sits in the state's hail corridor. Metal can shrug off wind and lasts far longer than asphalt, but it can still cosmetically dent under large hail, and some insurers exclude cosmetic damage on metal. Impact rated Class 4 asphalt shingles are the other common answer and often attract an insurance premium credit. Ask your carrier how each option affects both premium and cosmetic damage coverage before you decide.
Do I need a permit for a roof replacement in Denton?
Texas has no statewide building code enforcement for residential reroofing, so this is decided locally. Check with the City of Denton building department, or with the relevant city or with Denton County if your address is unincorporated. Confirm in writing who pulls the permit, who pays the fee and who meets the inspector.
What should I ask before signing?
Get the full scope in writing including decking repair pricing, underlayment type, flashing, drip edge and ventilation. Ask for a certificate of insurance sent directly by the insurance agent covering general liability and workers compensation. Confirm the workmanship warranty term, the manufacturer guarantee being registered, the payment schedule, and what happens to the schedule if hail season backs up the crews.
