Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this licence yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search — search #01-0608 or the company name.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

It has been a great pleasure working with Chip and Trish on our roofing project. We couldn’t be happier with their support and commitment to helping us get our roof replaced after a storm caused damage to it. They are awesome people and completely honest from the beginning to the end. We feel much better about the new roof, knowing our home is protected again. We cannot thank them enough for all the hard work of their entire team. We highly recommend considering them for your roofing needs.

I had a wonderful experience with Chip and his team! My new roof looks amazing and it went up so quickly! They also did a great job cleaning up after. It was an amazing transformation and the warranty just can't be beat! Chip was very attentive, easy to get a hold of and quick to respond. Everything I look for when hiring contractors.

We had such a great experience with Triton Roofing! Having dealt with different roofing professionals in the past we would have to say that Triton's team is superlative. Chip and Trish Moore were so informative and helpful in navigating the insurance process, in recommending colors of roofing shingles and gutters and in general explaining everything about the Triton process with such detail and clarity. The professionals arrived on time and we were amazed how quickly the job was finished. Trish and Chip are a superlative team in a great company that truly cares about its customers. We are so so pleased with our new roof, gutters, skylights and lighting tubes installed to increase the natural light in our kitchen. Bravo Triton! We appreciate you!

The service was top tier from the estimate stage, to working with insurance to installation. Our home looks amazing and better than the first time we had our roof completed by another company. Thank you so much Chip and Trish for a smooth and professional experience.

We had an excellent experience with Triton Roofing & Restoration, especially with Josh Bass. He came out to inspect the roof on a home I’m in the process of purchasing, and I was genuinely impressed by how knowledgeable, thorough, and professional he was throughout the entire inspection. Josh took the time to carefully explain everything in a way that was easy to understand, and he provided detailed photos that really helped me visualize the current condition of the roof. His inspection gave me confidence and reassurance that the roof is currently in good shape. What stood out most was his honesty and attention to detail. He also pointed out a structural improvement tied to updated building codes that would need to be addressed whenever the roof is eventually replaced in the future. I appreciated that he wasn’t just focused on the present condition, but also took the time to educate me about long-term considerations and proper planning. On top of that, Josh suggested that I speak with my insurance agent about adding a specific endorsement to my policy to ensure I would have adequate coverage for that future code-related upgrade. That level of care and proactive guidance is rare. Highly recommend Triton Roofing & Restoration if you’re looking for a company that is professional, knowledgeable, trustworthy, and truly focused on helping homeowners make informed decisions.

Frequently asked

Is Triton Roofing & Restoration licensed by the State of Texas?
Texas has no state roofing licence, so no roofer holds one. What exists is the RCAT Licensed Roofing Contractor credential, and Adam Jolley holds a Residential Roofing License, #01-0608, on the company's RCAT record. Alongside that, ask for a certificate of general liability and workers compensation insurance sent to you directly by the insurer.
What does a Residential Roofing License (RRL) cover, and what does it not?
The RRL is the residential tier of the RCAT credential. It is earned by a named individual through experience and examination and applies to residential roofing work. It is distinct from the commercial (CRL) and combined commercial and residential (CRRL) tiers, and it is separate from ordinary RCAT membership.
Does Lewisville get enough hail to justify Class 4 shingles?
Denton County sits squarely in the North Texas hail corridor and takes damaging hail in most spring seasons. Class 4 impact rated shingles are tested against a two inch steel ball dropped from twenty feet, and Texas carriers commonly discount premiums for them. Ask your insurer what the discount is on your policy before you decide.
How does storm restoration differ from a straight roof replacement?
A hail or wind event rarely stops at the roof. Fences, gutters, siding, windows and sometimes interior ceilings are damaged in the same storm and belong in the same claim. A contractor who handles all of those, as Triton does, means one scope, one adjuster conversation and one schedule rather than four separate trades.
Should I let a contractor negotiate my insurance claim for me?
No. Only a licensed public adjuster or an attorney can negotiate a claim on your behalf in Texas, and it is unlawful for a roofing contractor to act as your adjuster on a job they are bidding. Your contractor can meet the adjuster on site and document damage, which is legitimate and useful. Read any contingency agreement in full before signing.
Can a roofer cover my deductible?
No. Texas Insurance Code Chapter 707 makes it illegal for a contractor to waive, rebate or absorb an insurance deductible, and requires the contractor to state in writing that you must pay it. Treat any offer to absorb the deductible as a reason to get a different quote.
Do I need a permit to replace a roof in Lewisville?
Texas leaves permitting and inspection to individual cities, so it depends on the jurisdiction. Lewisville and most Denton County cities require a permit for a full reroof followed by an inspection. Have your contractor pull it in their own name and hand you the closed inspection at the end of the job.
What is the difference between a manufacturer warranty and a workmanship warranty?
The manufacturer warranty covers defects in the shingles or membrane and comes from GAF, Owens Corning or whoever made the product. The workmanship warranty covers how the roof was installed and comes from the contractor. Most leaks on a new roof are installation issues, so ask how long the workmanship warranty runs and what voids it.
What is the difference between an RCAT Member and an RCAT Licensed Roofing Contractor?
Membership means paying dues to the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas. The Licensed Roofing Contractor credential is separately earned and belongs to a named person. They are not equivalent, and marketing that blurs the two is worth questioning.
What should I ask before signing a roofing contract in North Texas?
Ask for insurance certificates direct from the insurer, the RCAT record and licence number, the manufacturer certification and its tier, who pulls the permit, the workmanship warranty length and exclusions, the payment schedule, and whether the crew is employed or subcontracted. Get all of it in writing before any deposit changes hands.
