About

Shingle Hut Complete Roofing Services is a residential and commercial roofing contractor working out of 18007 Mueschke Rd in Cypress, Harris County. BBB records show the business started in October 2014 and it has been BBB Accredited with an A+ rating since March 2016. The company operates alongside the wider HUT Services brand, and its original address shinglehutroofing.com now redirects to hutserv.com, which is the live company website. The work covers full roof replacement, roof leak and storm repair, hail damage, insurance claim assistance, residential and commercial roofing, water mitigation, custom seamless gutters, roof cleaning and solar attic fans. The company lists service across Greater Houston, including Cypress, Katy, Tomball, Spring, Jersey Village, Waller, Conroe, The Woodlands, League City and Montgomery, plus Austin. Owens Corning lists the company in its own contractor directory as a Platinum Preferred contractor, the top tier of that network. Shingle Hut also states CertainTeed SELECT ShingleMaster and Fortified Roof certification, and it advertises a lifetime workmanship warranty. Those last three are stated by the company and were not confirmed in the manufacturers' own directories. Cypress sits in the Houston hail and wind belt rather than a coastal windstorm zone, so impact resistant shingle options and quick post storm inspections are the practical local concerns.

Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this listing yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

We had an outstanding experience with Shingle Hut Complete Roofing Services from start to finish. The entire process was professional and of the highest quality. Ben Williams and Weston Williams were our initial sales contacts and they delivered on everything they sold. Both were fantastic. Weston Williams was our Project Manager and he was responsive, knowledgeable, patient, and always available for us. He and the Shingle Hut team worked on our behalf non-stop. We are certain we won the insurance battle only because of Shingle Hut’s expertise and diligence. They knew exactly how to document everything, communicate with the insurance company, hire the best appraiser to represent us, and advocate for us every step of the way. They educated us about what to expect next and eased our worries as best they could through it all. For the install, we were pleased with the roofing crew also. They were professional, timely, cleaned up thoroughly, and the new roof looks fantastic. On the day of the install, Weston was on-site to answer our questions, make sure we were happy, and monitor the crew. Afterwards, he followed up to make sure everything was squared away. Excellent customer service. We are very grateful for Shingle Hut and recommend their team for reliable, high-quality roofing services!

We needed some timely help, and were under the gun- so grateful a friend recommended HUT. Every detail was taken care of- clean, meticulous quality work and our point man WESTON was knowledgeable and able to lead us through a complex process with the confidence we needed. There’s always “cheaper” but I believe this is the company you call when you need everything done perfectly and professionally!

Weston did a great job start to finish. He was very proactive with scheduling, communication and keeping us up to date during installation. The crew did a great, high quality job. Love the curb appeal of the new roof and how well it blends with our colors. Second house we’ve done with Shingle Hut. Definitely recommend this company. 100%

Shingle Hut installed a new impact resistant roof on our home. From start to finish working with Nick Lindsey was smooth sailing! He helped us every step of the way, and every question, no matter how trivial, was answered promptly. He was always a ray of sunshine. The day the roof was installed there was a team of 12 roofers, all working so well with each other, and Nick supervised the entire job. This has been a very positive experience and we are very grateful to Shingle Hut and Nick for a beautiful job!

Very happy with Shingle Hut Complete Roof Services. They are honest, respected in the community, very knowledgeable navigating insurance claims. They do more then just replace roofs, they do repairs and teach home owners how to maintain their roofs.

Frequently asked

Is Shingle Hut licensed by the State of Texas?
No roofing contractor is, because Texas does not issue a state roofing licence. There is no state board and no state licence number to look up. What you can check instead is the company's insurance, its standing with the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas, its BBB record and any city or county registration. Shingle Hut is an RCAT Member and is BBB Accredited with an A+ rating.
What is the difference between an RCAT Member and an RCAT Licensed Roofing Contractor?
They are two separate things and they are not interchangeable. RCAT Member means the company pays dues and belongs to the association. RCAT Licensed Roofing Contractor is a separate credential that an individual earns through testing and continuing education, shown as CRRL, RRL or CRL. Shingle Hut is listed as an RCAT Member.
Does Cypress get enough hail to justify impact resistant shingles?
Harris County is not in the worst of the North Texas hail alley, but it still takes damaging hail and strong straight line wind. Class 4 impact resistant shingles are rated against a steel ball impact test and many Texas insurers give a premium discount for them. Ask your carrier what the discount is worth before you decide, because it changes the payback maths considerably.
Is a roof permit needed in Cypress and unincorporated Harris County?
Texas has no statewide building code enforcement, so permitting is set city by city and county by county. Parts of Cypress are unincorporated Harris County, where roof replacement permitting differs from an incorporated city such as Houston or Katy. Ask the contractor which jurisdiction your address falls in and who is pulling any permit that is required.
How do I verify the Owens Corning Platinum Preferred claim myself?
Do not take it from the contractor's own website. Search the contractor locator on owenscorning.com and look for the company by name and city. Shingle Hut appears there with a contractor profile. The same method works for GAF and CertainTeed, each of which runs its own searchable directory of certified contractors.
Will the company handle my hail or wind insurance claim?
Shingle Hut lists insurance claim assistance and storm damage work among its services. A contractor may document damage, meet your adjuster on site and explain scope, but under Texas law a roofer who is not a licensed public adjuster cannot negotiate or adjust your claim for you. If anyone offers to waive or absorb your deductible, walk away, because that is illegal in Texas.
What should I ask for before signing anything?
Ask for a current certificate of insurance covering both general liability and workers compensation, sent directly by the insurance agent rather than as a copy from the contractor. Ask who the crew is and whether they are employees or subcontractors. Ask for the manufacturer warranty tier in writing plus the separate workmanship warranty term, and get the full scope, materials and payment schedule on one document.
How long does a typical Houston area roof replacement take?
A standard single family asphalt shingle replacement is usually a one to two day tear off and install once materials are on site. Scheduling, insurance approval and material availability are what usually stretch the timeline, particularly in the weeks after a large regional storm event when every crew in Harris County is booked.
Are free roof inspections genuinely free?
A free inspection is a sales visit, and that is fine as long as you treat it that way. Get the findings in writing with photographs, and do not sign a contract, an authorisation to contact your insurer or an assignment of benefits at the same visit. Take the report, get a second opinion, then decide.
Does this directory endorse Shingle Hut?
No. This site is editorially independent. We verify insurance separately, report RCAT standing and registration as we find it, and link out to the primary sources so you can check them yourself. Ratings shown anywhere on the profile come from Google only. We do not accept payment to change what a listing says.
