About

RoofTX Roofing & Construction is a Hutto based roofing and remodeling contractor working across Central Texas. The Roofing Contractors Association of Texas directory lists the company at a Hutto address (116 Grapefruit Rd.), while the company's own site gives an Austin 78729 address for its Central Texas office plus a second Coastal Bend office in Aransas Pass. Both Texas addresses on file sit in Williamson County. Texas issues no state roofing licence, so the meaningful checks on a roofer here are the RCAT record, the BBB file and current proof of general liability and workers compensation insurance. The company advertises roof repair, roof replacement, metal roofing and tile roofing alongside a remodeling arm covering kitchens, bathrooms, decks, concrete and patio work, and painting. Its published service area runs from Austin out through Cedar Park, Georgetown, Hutto, Round Rock, Leander, Pflugerville, Liberty Hill, Buda, Kyle, San Marcos and Bastrop, which places most of its work inside the Central Texas hail belt. RoofTX is a comparatively new business entity. The BBB file records a business start date of 4 September 2024 and accreditation from 8 May 2025, with an A rating. The company describes more than fifty years of combined industry experience among its people, which is a claim about staff background rather than about how long this business has traded.

Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this licence yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search — search #03-0721 or the company name.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

I had a great experience with RoofTX Roofing & Construction. Justin first knocked on my door and very respectfully let me know that my roof had damage, which they noticed while working on my neighbor’s house. He even showed me photos so I could clearly see the issue. Shortly after, Jason, the owner, came by and introduced himself (turns out he’s my neighbor as well), which immediately built trust. They offered to take care of the repair at a very reasonable price, and I agreed. What impressed me most was how fast and professional they were — in less than an hour, my roof was fully repaired. They also shared clear before-and-after photos, so I knew exactly what was done. With rain expected the next day, they truly saved me from potential damage and a much bigger problem. I’m very grateful for their honesty, responsiveness, and quality work. Highly recommend RoofTX Roofing & Construction for anyone needing reliable home services!

Justin replaced our roof several years ago, and we continue to be impressed with his service and professionalism. He is incredibly responsive — whenever I call or text, he answers right away or gets back to me immediately. Anytime I’ve had a question or wanted him to check on something, he has willingly come out without hesitation. It’s rare to find someone who stands behind their work years later and is still so dependable. I highly recommend Justin to anyone looking for an honest, reliable roofer who truly cares about his customers.

I had the pleasure of meeting RoofTX Construction Representative James Beaver. James was very professional, knowledgeable and friendly. I was nervous about needing a roof repair, but the team at RoofTX Roofing and Construction showed up on time, kept the work site spotless, and explained every step. Their communication was clear, they worked efficiently and finished the roof job ahead of schedule. I could rely on them completely and felt confident the job was done right. I Highly recommend this roofing contractor for any residential roofing needs. Great job RoofTx! I will definitely call upon you for all my roofing jobs in the future and I will let my friends and neighbors know about your wonderful service.

I had an amazing experience with RoofTX! They walked me through every step, answered all my questions, and made the whole process stress‑free. Jason and the team worked quickly, the quality is excellent, and the final result exceeded my expectations. It’s rare to find a company this trustworthy and customer‑focused. Five stars all the way.

Can’t say enough how great Justin was with RoofTX. Had an issue that was discovered on our roof that was causing a leak through the attic. Justin came by same day during his busy schedule and inspected it and found the cause right away. Came by the next day and went far and beyond and knocked it out. He is one of the few good people I’ve met that is honest, knowledgeable, professional and down to earth. I would recommend him and RoofTX to anyone who has roof repair or replacement needs.

Frequently asked

Does Texas license roofing contractors?
No. Texas has no state roofing licence and no state roofing regulator. Anyone can trade as a roofer statewide. That is why homeowners should check three things instead: current general liability and workers compensation certificates sent directly by the insurer, the company's standing in a voluntary body such as RCAT, and whether the company holds any city or county registration your municipality requires.
What does it mean that RoofTX is RCAT Licensed rather than just an RCAT member?
RCAT, the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas, runs two separate things. Membership is a paid trade association subscription. The Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned separately through testing and experience requirements. The RCAT directory records RoofTX with roofing licence credentials, not membership alone. Neither is a government licence.
How old is this company?
The BBB file gives a business start date of 4 September 2024, so the entity is young. The company separately advertises more than fifty years of combined industry experience across its team, which is a statement about the people rather than the trading history of the business. Ask directly how many Central Texas roofs the crew has completed and request addresses you can drive by.
Why does Central Texas hail matter so much for a roof in Hutto or Round Rock?
Williamson County sits inside the corridor often called Hail Alley. Spring storms regularly drop stones large enough to bruise asphalt shingle mats, split mineral surfacing and dent metal panels and vents. Hail is the single most common reason a Central Texas roof is replaced before the end of its rated life, well ahead of ordinary wear.
What are Class 4 impact resistant shingles and are they worth it here?
Class 4 is the top rating under UL 2218, awarded to shingles that survive repeated strikes from a two inch steel ball without the mat cracking. In hail prone Texas counties many carriers offer a premium discount for a Class 4 roof, and the shingles tend to hold up through more than one storm season. Ask your insurer what discount applies before you choose the product, and ask the roofer to write the exact product and rating into the contract.
Do I need a permit for a re-roof in Hutto or Austin?
Texas has no statewide residential building code enforcement, so permitting is set city by city and county by county. Most incorporated Central Texas cities, including Austin and Hutto, require a permit for a full roof replacement, and unincorporated Williamson County works differently again. Confirm in writing who pulls the permit and who schedules the inspection before work starts.
How do I verify a roofer's insurance properly?
Ask for the certificate of insurance to be emailed to you by the insurance agent, not forwarded by the contractor. Check that the policy is current, that general liability limits are adequate for a full tear off, and that workers compensation is included. Texas does not require private employers to carry workers compensation, so if the roofer has none you should understand who is liable if a crew member is hurt on your property.
Can hail damage be repaired, or does the whole roof have to be replaced?
It depends on the density of the bruising and whether matching shingles are still available. Isolated damage on a slope or two can often be repaired. Widespread bruising across multiple slopes, or a discontinued shingle that cannot be matched, usually pushes an adjuster toward full replacement. Get the inspection findings documented with photographs and slope by slope hit counts.
What should I ask before signing a roofing contract in Texas?
Ask for the full scope in writing including decking replacement pricing, underlayment type, ventilation changes, the exact shingle product and colour, the workmanship warranty length, the payment schedule, and who is responsible for the permit. Texas law lets you cancel a storm damage repair contract within a set period if your claim is denied, so read the cancellation clause. Never pay the full amount up front.
Does RoofTX work outside Central Texas?
The company runs a second office on the Coastal Bend in Aransas Pass with a separate phone number, so it advertises coverage in that region as well as Central Texas. Coastal work involves different windstorm rules from inland hail work, so if your property is on the coast confirm which office is handling the job and what windstorm documentation is being provided.
