About

BesTex Solutions is a family owned Central Texas roofing and restoration company founded in 2015. Its Hutto location is at 275 Private Road 900, Hutto, TX 78634, and BBB records show a Georgetown headquarters address with Garrett R. Carey as managing member and Chris Carey as co-owner. The company advertises itself under the number 833-ROOFS-4-U and says its owners and team bring more than 25 years of combined experience. The company covers residential and commercial roofing plus a wide restoration line: roof repair, replacement and restoration, storm damage work, water leak repair and mitigation, foundation repair, paintless dent removal, solar panel services, blown-in insulation and remodeling. It advertises 24/7 emergency response including tarping and shrink wrap. Its commercial roofing list includes built-up, modified bitumen, EPDM, TPO and PVC single ply, fluid applied membranes, sheet metal and cool roof coatings, alongside residential asphalt shingle, clay and concrete tile, synthetic and wood shake. BesTex Solutions appears in both GAF's residential and commercial contractor directories and in Owens Corning's contractor directory, and it has been a BBB Accredited Business since February 5, 2018 with an A+ rating. Williamson County is inland and sits in the Central Texas hail belt, so hail and wind claims, not coastal windstorm rules, drive most roof replacement here. Class 4 impact-resistant shingles are the usual upgrade. Because Texas has no state roofing license, confirm current liability and workers compensation coverage and check local permitting in Hutto, Round Rock or Georgetown before signing.

Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

City/county registration Not checked for HuttoTexas has no state roofing licence, and city rules differ: some require contractor registration, some run a voluntary registry, some neither. Ask this company and your local permit office.

Confirm this licence yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search — search #03-0431 or the company name.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

I have been working with the owner Steven of BesTex Solutions for my last 2 roof replacements. It is crazy to think that living in Austin, Texas- you will be a victim of hail destruction at some point in time. Both of hailstorms that happened in the last 2 years have been horrific! My roof was destroyed each time including my brand new one that was installed January of 2024!!! I have nothing bad to say about BesTex Solutions because they got the job done each time. Roof replacement shenanigans are not for the “faint of heart.” The 1st time was kind of rough but this time ran smoother because his head foreman, Brendon Sims, was very professional and kept everything under control. Brendon Sims did a great job. Thank you, BesTex Solutions.

I would highly recommend BesTex for all of your roofing needs and home repairs. From start to finish Rob and Brendon and the whole team were great to work with! Special kudos for Rob, he came to my home and did a free inspection. We definitely needed a new roof!!! In less than five days I had my estimate and a new roof!!!! Excellent job! Also, I would like to thank Samantha Stone. If not for her I would not have known about BesTex.

Great experience with Best Tex Solutions the representative Rob came by to assess my roof after the hail storm damaged. Their team helped me through the insurance process, communicated clearly, and made everything very smooth. The roof replacement was done professionally and on time, and the quality of the work was excellent. I highly recommend them if you need a reliable roofing company. 👍

Bestex was very helpful and thorough in helping me with my roof replacement. Rob D. went beyond measure to work around my busy work schedule and took time to go over materials including making improvements to help protect my home. The Bestex team was punctual and efficient both in time and cleanliness after the job. I liked the fact that they are an established Austin company which eliminated my reservations towards the quality of door to door sales tactics after a storm. I highly recommend Rob and Bestex if you are considering updating your roof!

Frequently asked

Does Texas require roofers to hold a state license?
No. Texas has no state roofing license and no state roofing regulator. Verification rests on current insurance, voluntary credentials such as RCAT, manufacturer certifications, and any local registration the city requires.
What does RCAT status mean on a Texas roofer's listing?
The Roofing Contractors Association of Texas offers plain membership, which is paid dues, and a separately earned Licensed Roofing Contractor credential. They are different things. Ask a contractor which one they actually hold.
How do I confirm a Central Texas roofer is insured?
Ask for a certificate of insurance sent directly from the agent or carrier showing general liability and workers compensation. Call the agent to confirm the policy is active for your job dates, and check that your address is listed.
Is hail a real problem in Williamson County?
Yes. Williamson County sits in the Central Texas hail belt, and spring hail and wind events regularly damage roofs in Hutto, Round Rock, Georgetown and Taylor. Hail claims drive most residential roof replacement in the area.
What are Class 4 impact-resistant shingles and should I use them?
Class 4 is the top rating in the UL 2218 impact test, meaning the shingle resists bruising and granule loss from hail. In a hail-prone county the upgrade often makes sense, especially if your carrier offers a matching discount.
Will a Class 4 roof lower my homeowners premium?
Many Texas carriers offer an impact-resistant roof discount, but the amount and the approved product list vary. Ask your own insurer what they offer and which products qualify before choosing a shingle.
Do I need a permit to replace a roof in Hutto or Georgetown?
Texas has no statewide building code enforcement, so permitting is decided city by city and county by county. Cities in Williamson County generally require a roofing permit. Have the contractor confirm in writing that they pull it and that inspection is included.
Can a roofing company pay my insurance deductible?
No. Texas Insurance Code Chapter 707 makes it illegal for a contractor to pay, waive or absorb your insurance deductible, and the contractor must disclose that in writing. Treat any deductible-covering offer as a reason to look elsewhere.
What should I look for in the contract?
The full written scope, the shingle brand and product line, underlayment and ventilation, decking replacement pricing, permit responsibility, workmanship warranty length, payment schedule, and what happens if the insurance scope changes after the tear-off.
What can a roofer do the same day after a storm?
Emergency mitigation is normally a tarp or shrink wrap over the opening plus interior protection to stop water damage while the claim is processed. That temporary work should be documented with photos, because insurers typically reimburse reasonable mitigation costs.
