About

NTC Roofing is a Rockwall based roofing and construction company that also trades under the longer name North Texas Custom Roofing and Construction Management on its website at ntxcroofing.com. The office is at 2455 Ridge Road, Suite 205 in Rockwall, and the company lists a second mailing address in Royse City on its BBB record. David Prokop is listed as the owner and manager. The Better Business Bureau records the business as founded in July 2020 and incorporated in September 2020. The company works on both homes and commercial buildings. Residential work covers roof inspection, repair and replacement along with insulation, gutters, window treatment and interior and exterior painting. Commercial work covers inspection, repair, replacement and gutter systems in aluminium, galvanized steel and stainless steel. NTC advertises free commercial roofing inspections and estimates, and for residential roofs it installs it offers a five year workmanship guarantee that includes repairing any leaks at no cost. Coverage runs well beyond Rockwall County. The company says it serves Dallas, Tarrant, Kaufman, Ellis, Hunt, Collin and Denton counties, which places most of its work inside the North Texas hail belt where wind driven rain, hail and falling limbs drive the bulk of roof claims. NTC Roofing is a dues paying Member of the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas and has been a BBB Accredited Business with an A plus rating since September 2021.

Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this listing yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

David is one of the best contractors I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. He met the adjuster on site multiple times to ensure that nothing was being missed. He returned every text and phone call, usually within the hour, and made every effort to make all required repairs, he even had his guys picking up some extra hedge clippings I missed once they were done. Small leak was found one morning as I was headed out the door. I called him and he was on my roof sending me a picture of the issue before I made it to my office. His guys were there that afternoon making the repair. Highly recommended.

Despite a clearly posted no bills, no knock sign, an employee knocked on the door. I asked him if he had read the sign 3 feet in front of him, he said yes and I told him to leave. A couple hours later they drove up and left a card on the door. They state "integrity" on the card, but their actions prove otherwise.

Top notch professionalism and quality of work from their team. Chris is especially great at answering any questions we had during our entire process. Can't recommend enough!

I’ve had the pleasure of knowing David for over 20 years, both as a personal friend and as a professional partner. As a realtor, I definitely refer all my clients to him for their roofing needs. He even replaced my roof, and his integrity shines through in every job he takes on. David is the only roofer I trust and recommend.

I will never use anyone else and recommend them to anyone who wants the best team on the biggest investment. Thank you David and the whold NTC team.

Frequently asked

Does Texas issue a state roofing licence, and is NTC Roofing state licensed?
Texas does not license roofing contractors at the state level. There is no state roofing licence to check, so the useful checks are current general liability and workers compensation insurance, a verifiable local address, and voluntary industry credentials. NTC Roofing lists a Rockwall office at 2455 Ridge Road, Suite 205.
What does the RCAT Member status on this listing actually mean?
The Roofing Contractors Association of Texas has two separate things. Plain Membership means the company pays dues and belongs to the association. The Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned separately through testing and experience requirements. NTC Roofing appears in the RCAT directory as a Member. It is not shown holding the separately earned Licensed credential.
Is NTC Roofing accredited by the Better Business Bureau?
Yes. The BBB profile for NTC Roofing shows Accredited Business status with an A plus rating, accredited since 13 September 2021. The BBB record lists David Allyn Prokop as owner and manager.
How long has the company been in business?
The BBB record shows the business started in July 2020 and was incorporated in September 2020. The company appears in the RCAT directory under the name NTC Roofing with the Rockwall address.
Which areas does NTC Roofing cover?
The company states it serves Rockwall and the surrounding North Texas cities, and names Dallas, Tarrant, Kaufman, Ellis, Hunt, Collin and Denton counties on its website.
What warranty comes with a new roof?
For residential work the company advertises a five year workmanship guarantee that covers any roof it installs and includes repair of any leaks at no cost to the homeowner. Material warranties on a roof are separate and come from the shingle or metal manufacturer, so ask for both in writing.
Rockwall gets hail. Are impact resistant shingles worth it here?
Rockwall County sits inside the North Texas hail corridor, so impact resistant products are worth pricing. A UL 2218 Class 4 rated shingle is the top impact class and many Texas insurers offer a premium discount for one. Ask any contractor to quote a Class 4 option alongside a standard shingle and ask your insurer in writing what the discount would be before you decide.
Do I need a permit to replace a roof in Rockwall?
Texas has no statewide building code enforcement for residential re-roofs, so permitting and inspection rules are set city by city and county by county. Rockwall and the surrounding cities each run their own building inspection departments. Confirm with your city who pulls the permit, and make sure the contract says the contractor does it rather than the homeowner.
What should I ask NTC Roofing before signing anything?
Ask for a current certificate of general liability and workers compensation insurance sent directly from the insurer, the full scope in writing including underlayment, flashing, ventilation and decking replacement pricing, who pulls the permit, whether the crew is in-house or subcontracted, and the exact terms of the five year workmanship guarantee including what voids it.
Does the company handle insurance claim work?
The company markets roof inspections that document damage history for insurance claims and describes repairing damage from high winds, hail, rain, falling tree limbs and severe storms. In Texas a roofer may inspect and document damage and quote the repair, but only a licensed public adjuster may negotiate or adjust the claim on your behalf. Keep those two roles separate.
