Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this licence yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search — search #01-0471 or the company name.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

Ryan with Firehouse Roofing was excellent from start to finish. He was professional, knowledgeable, and incredibly thorough in walking me through everything, which made the entire process feel easy and stress-free. What stood out most was how trustworthy he was, I never felt pressured, just well-informed and taken care of. If you’re looking for someone who truly has your best interest in mind, I highly recommend Ryan. You’ll be in great hands!

Firehouse Roofing was such a great choice. I previously went with a cheaper company and ended up dealing with constant leaks, so I was a little hesitant—but this experience was completely different. Daniel came out, inspected everything, and actually took the time to explain what was going on. He was communicative, professional, and made the whole process smooth from start to finish. Highly recommend!

We are so glad we chose Firehouse Roofing to install our new roof! Aaron was awesome and was able to answer all of our questions. He took the time to explain everything to us and did not rush the process, but rather made sure we understood everything thoroughly. He was prompt and very knowledgeable about the company. Every step of the way, Aaron was sure to keep in contact with us making the whole process of getting a new roof installed truly stress free! Hunter, the project manager, was also great the day of installment. Our roof looks so beautiful! If you are looking into getting a new roof, or even roof repairs….look no further! You will not be disappointed!

Frequently asked

Is Firehouse Roofing licensed by the State of Texas?
Texas issues no state roofing license, so no Texas roofer is state-licensed. The meaningful credentials are voluntary. Firehouse Roofing is listed with the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas as a licensed roofing contractor, the credential RCAT awards separately from plain membership, and the company also cites its RCAT contractor number on its website. Always ask any roofer for current proof of insurance too.
What does Owens Corning Platinum Preferred mean?
Platinum Preferred is Owens Corning's highest contractor tier, reserved for a small group of installers who meet insurance, training, and workmanship standards. It lets the contractor offer Owens Corning's strongest warranty options. Firehouse Roofing's profile appears on Owens Corning's own contractor directory, and the company states it offers a 50-year workmanship warranty through the program.
Is Firehouse Roofing really firefighter founded?
Yes. The company says it was founded in 1997 by Mark Latham, a respected fire captain in the DFW area, and BBB lists Mark Brian Latham as founder and CEO. It markets itself as firefighter-founded and family-owned, and it is a different company from Fireman's Roofing and General Contractor of McKinney.
What areas does Firehouse Roofing serve?
The company was founded in Rockwall and keeps an office there at 2800 Discovery Blvd, Suite 110, with additional offices in Plano and Colleyville. Service covers the DFW metroplex including Dallas, Fort Worth, Rowlett, Arlington, and out to Tyler and Longview in East Texas.
Does Firehouse Roofing handle hail damage insurance claims?
Storm and hail restoration is a core service; North Texas sits in the heart of Texas Hail Alley and Rockwall County takes frequent spring hail. The company offers inspections and a hail impact report. When filing a claim, get the damage documented first and ask about Class 4 impact-resistant shingles, which some Texas insurers discount.
Does the company offer emergency service?
Yes, Firehouse Roofing advertises 24/7 emergency roofing service alongside regular office hours of Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm.
What besides roofing does Firehouse Roofing do?
The company also handles attic insulation, ventilation, and air sealing, gutter installation and repair, exterior painting, and masonry work, so storm repairs to several parts of the home can go through one contractor.
Do I need a permit to reroof in Rockwall?
Texas has no statewide building code, so permit rules are set city by city. The City of Rockwall has its own requirements for reroofing permits and inspections; confirm with the city before work starts. An established local contractor will normally handle permitting as part of the job.
How long has Firehouse Roofing been in business?
BBB records show the business started January 1, 1997, which is nearly three decades of operation, and it has been BBB accredited since 2010 with an A+ rating.
What should I ask a North Texas roofer before signing?
Ask for a certificate of insurance, a physical office you can visit, manufacturer credentials you can verify on the manufacturer's own directory, a written scope with brand and warranty details, and local references. After big hail events, out-of-town storm chasers flood North Texas; a company with a 1997 founding date and three local offices is the opposite of that profile.
