About

Legacy Roofing & Construction is a residential and commercial roofing and exterior contractor based at 450 Century Parkway, Suite 250, in Allen, Collin County. The company works across the north Dallas suburbs and also lists offices in Sulphur, Louisiana and Lincoln, Nebraska, describing itself as licensed to do business in Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas and Nebraska. Alongside roof replacement and repair, the company sells a broad exterior and remodelling menu that includes seamless gutters, siding, windows, garage doors, fencing, painting, flooring and general remodelling. On the commercial side it lists built-up, modified bitumen, TPO, EPDM and PVC membrane systems as well as shingle, metal and tile. The Better Business Bureau shows the Texas entity, Legacy Roofing & Construction LLC, as an accredited business with an A+ rating, accredited since May 2020 and with a business start date of January 2020. That sits against a marketing claim on the company's own website of more than twenty years of experience, which most likely refers to the team's individual backgrounds rather than the company's age. The company also states Owens Corning Preferred, GAF Certified and IKO Roof Pro status, and advertises a thirty year manufacturer limited warranty plus a ten year workmanship warranty. Texas has no state roofing licence, so homeowners should verify insurance directly with the insurer and confirm what the workmanship warranty actually covers.

Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this licence yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search — search #03-0549 or the company name.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

We recently had our roof replaced by them, and I couldn’t be happier. Their communication was excellent — they explained each phase and even shared drone photos of the progress. Griffin(sales) and Angel(PM) were awesome, handling everything professionally and fixing a small uneven line quickly. Angel also assured me to reach out anytime if issues arise, which was very reassuring. The team finished on schedule and did quality work for the roof. Highly recommend Legacy Roofing!

Great experience with Legacy Roofing! Tony was professional, honest, and easy to work with throughout the entire process. Ryan, the QCM, made sure everything was done right and paid close attention to detail. The job went smoothly, and I’m very happy with my new roof. Highly recommend!

I can’t say enough good things about working with Rhett Hansen at Legacy Roofing. As a REALTOR®, I rely on honest and responsive professionals, and Rhett went above and beyond. Another roofing company had given my clients a completely inaccurate report on a roof that had just been replaced in March. Rhett came out right away, did a thorough inspection, and even contacted that company directly to go over his findings. Thanks to him, they corrected their report. Even though the buyers ended up terminating due to the stress of the situation, Rhett proved himself to be professional, knowledgeable, and truly an advocate for homeowners. He’s definitely earned my trust and future business, and I would highly recommend him to anyone needing a reliable roofer in North Texas.

I opened a business 3 years ago and trusted Rhett and the team with my pursuit of becoming a successful business owner. Now after 3 years, they have done such a great job that I've had to do no repairs and everything still has that new business shine. Appreciate them so much for bringing my vision to life!

After hail damage to my roof, this company made the entire replacement process stress-free. They handled all communication with my insurance company and got the claim approved smoothly. Even though the insurance only covered standard 30-year shingles, they upgraded my roof to impact-resistant shingles at no extra cost, which not only improved my roof’s quality but also lowered my insurance premium. On top of that, they went above and beyond by cleaning my air vents and resealing all my windows as a complimentary service. The work was done professionally, and they provided all the necessary certificates and warranties at the end. Their attention to detail and customer care truly stood out. Highly recommend!

Frequently asked

Is Legacy Roofing & Construction licensed by the State of Texas?
Texas does not issue a state roofing licence, so no Texas roofer holds one. What matters instead is verified general liability and workers compensation insurance, RCAT status, and city registration where a city requires it. Ask for the certificate of insurance to be emailed to you by the insurance agent, not by the salesperson.
What does RCAT Licensed mean, and how is it different from RCAT Member?
RCAT is the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas. Any company can join as a dues-paying Member. The Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is separate and has to be earned through testing and continuing education. This company holds RCAT Licensed status, which is the stronger of the two.
How old is the company?
The BBB record for Legacy Roofing & Construction LLC gives a business start date of January 2020 and accreditation from May 2020, and the RCAT record gives a company establishment date of February 2020. The website's reference to more than twenty years of experience should be read as the team's combined background, not the age of the business.
Are its manufacturer certifications verified?
The company states Owens Corning Preferred Contractor, GAF Certified and IKO Roof Pro status on its own website. Those specific listings were not located in the manufacturers' own public contractor directories during this review, so treat them as claims made by the company and ask to see the current certificate before signing.
Which areas does it cover?
The website names Allen, McKinney, Plano, Frisco, Richardson, Rockwall, Mesquite, Flower Mound and Lantana in Texas. It also lists offices in Sulphur, Louisiana and Lincoln, Nebraska.
Why does hail matter so much in Collin County?
The Allen, Plano and McKinney corridor sits squarely in North Texas hail alley, and hail is the leading cause of roof replacement in the region. After a storm, get the roof inspected and documented, report the claim promptly, and keep your own photographs and receipts.
Are Class 4 impact-resistant shingles worth it here?
For most North Texas homes they are worth pricing. Class 4 shingles pass the UL 2218 steel ball impact test and many Texas insurers offer a premium discount for them. Ask your insurer what discount applies before you choose the product, because the saving varies by carrier.
Do I need a permit to replace a roof in Allen?
Texas has no statewide building code office, so permitting is handled city by city. Most Collin County cities, including Allen, require a permit for a full roof replacement and a final inspection. Confirm in writing that the contractor pulls the permit in its own name.
What is the difference between the manufacturer warranty and the workmanship warranty?
The manufacturer warranty covers the shingles or membrane themselves and is issued by the manufacturer. The workmanship warranty covers the installation and is issued by the contractor, so it is only as good as the company standing behind it. This company advertises a 30 year manufacturer limited warranty and a 10 year workmanship warranty. Get both in writing with the terms attached.
What should I ask before signing a roofing contract in Texas?
Ask for insurer-issued proof of insurance, a written scope naming the exact shingle line and colour, the underlayment and ventilation details, who pulls the permit, the deposit and payment schedule, the lien waiver process, and the cancellation terms. Be wary of anyone pressing you to sign on the first visit or offering to cover your insurance deductible, which is not lawful in Texas.
