Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this licence yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search — search #03-0690 or the company name.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

My name Is Lori Pecore. I cannot say enough about how grateful I am for HailCat Roofing. They assured us they would do everything possible to get us a new roof...as ours was in very bad shape. Our roofing consultant, Chad Blackmon, and Production supervisor, Dennis Haines, were with us every step of the way. They sat with us as we filed our claim and went out of their way to address any and all questions and concerns we had. We were very impressed with Chad's knowledge of the product he was selling, as well as his professionalism. He helped us select a shingle that would withstand extremely high winds. He was also very good about keeping us in the loop on any upcoming appointments or activities surrounding the build. The HailCat Team as a whole was kind, and trustworthy. The entire experience was seamless. My husband and I are so glad we chose them as our roofing consultants.

Joseph from HailCat Roofing got us approved when no one else could. The insurance company did not want to assist us with our roof replacement. I was frustrated and ready to give up, however Joseph built an amazing rapport with the insurance company and it made all the difference. I highly recommend HailCat! It's very important to work with people who do exactly what they say they will do, when they say they will do it. It was a one day process and all I had to pay was my deductible! Communication was top notch and I cannot recommend Joseph & HailCat enough. Thank you!

We recently worked with Dennis at Hailcat Roofing for our first roofing project, and it was a fantastic experience. Dennis made the process smooth and stress-free, taking charge and guiding us every step of the way. He answered our questions thoroughly, handled the insurance process with professionalism, and kept us informed with clear, timely communication. He went out of his way to ensure we felt comfortable and understood everything, which we really valued. The work was completed efficiently, and our new roof looks great. We’d highly recommend Dennis to anyone needing a reliable and professional roofer!

Frequently asked

Is HailCat Roofing licensed by the State of Texas?
Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so no roofer in Texas holds one. What matters instead is proof of insurance, voluntary credentials such as those from the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas (RCAT), and any local city registration. Ask for a certificate of insurance sent directly from the carrier.
What is the difference between an RCAT Member and an RCAT Licensed Roofing Contractor?
RCAT membership means a company pays dues and belongs to the state trade association. The RCAT Licensed Roofing Contractor credential is separate and must be earned through testing, experience, and insurance requirements. They are not the same thing, so ask which one a contractor actually holds.
Does HailCat Roofing help with hail damage insurance claims?
Yes. Insurance claims assistance is one of its core services, including storm damage assessment and documentation for the insurer. Hail recovery is central to how the company presents itself.
What roofing materials does HailCat Roofing install?
The company installs asphalt shingle roofs, listing GAF Timberline NS and HDZ shingles in multiple colors, and also offers metal roofing, metal roof coatings, and gutter work.
Are Class 4 impact-resistant shingles worth considering in Montgomery County?
Often yes. The region sees regular hail, and Class 4 shingles are rated to resist larger hailstones. Many Texas insurers offer premium discounts for impact-resistant roofs, so check with your insurer before choosing a shingle.
Is HailCat Roofing BBB accredited?
Yes. BBB shows an A+ rating with accreditation since September 2023, and lists the business as started in 2021.
Where is HailCat Roofing located?
Its office is at 2525 N. Frazier St. Ste. 6300 in Conroe, Texas. Directory listings also associate the company with the Willis and The Woodlands area; all of these are in the Montgomery County market.
Do I need a permit to replace my roof in Montgomery County?
It depends on where you live. Texas has no statewide building code for this, so each city sets its own rules. Homes inside city limits such as Conroe or Willis may need a permit, while unincorporated county areas often do not. Confirm with your local building department before work starts.
What should I check before signing a roofing contract in Texas?
Get the scope, price, and warranty in writing, ask for a certificate of insurance direct from the carrier, and confirm who handles cleanup and disposal. Also remember that Texas law requires you to pay your insurance deductible; any offer to waive or absorb it is illegal.
Does HailCat Roofing offer financing?
Yes. The company advertises financing options and free estimates on its website.
