About

Dynamite Roofing & Construction is a Central Texas roofing contractor whose New Braunfels office is at 1067 FM 306, Suite 102, alongside locations in Round Rock, Pflugerville, and Ennis. The company describes itself as the product of a merger of three established Texas roofing firms, Top Dog Roofing, Dynamite Roofing, and MRG Construction Services. Leadership named on the company site includes Sheldon Jones as chief executive officer and Justin Harrod as chief operating officer, with Wes Turner as senior vice president south, the contact RCAT lists for the New Braunfels record. The company handles residential and commercial roof replacement and repair, metal roofing, storm damage restoration, gutter installation, commercial TPO, and new construction roofing. Materials named on its own pages are asphalt shingles, metal, clay or concrete tile, and flat roofing systems, and it advertises a lifetime guarantee on roof replacements and new installations. Dynamite Roofing & Construction appears in the Owens Corning contractor directory as an Owens Corning Platinum Preferred Contractor, the manufacturer's top tier. Its own website describes it more modestly as an Owens Corning Preferred Contractor, and its Austin page also calls it GAF Certified. That GAF claim could not be located in GAF's own contractor directory, so it is reported here as stated by the company. New Braunfels is in Comal County, well inland, so hail rather than coastal windstorm drives most roof claims in this market. The company publishes a seven step insurance claim process, says it has completed thousands of insurance claim projects, and states that carrier estimates often need supplements for code upgrades and measurement errors. Homeowners should note two things. The Better Business Bureau lists this business as not BBB accredited with a C rating, and Texas has no state roofing licence, so current general liability and workers compensation certificates should be requested directly from the contractor before signing.

Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this licence yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search — search #03-0617 or the company name.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

This roofing service is top of the line as far as speed, accuracy, availability and quality of work performed. Justin Sullins was absolutely amazing to work with and is very knowledgeable about the entire roofing process. I recommend Dynamite Roofing & Construction to get the job done right and with all around good quality service. Thank you so much Justin! Take a look for yourself at the beautiful "teak" color shingles, ridge vents and all.

My area was recently affected by a hailstorm. Mr. David with Dynamite Roofing & Construction came out to inspected my roof. He was very professional and honest throughout the entire process. He explained that since most of my roof is covered by solar panels, the damage was minimal. He clearly went over my options and let me know that a full roof replacement wasn’t necessary. I really appreciated his honesty and would definitely recommend him.

From the very beginning Peter has helped me throughout the whole process. With his background of being a project supervisor he was able to explain the whole process of a reroof. He made dealing with the insurance company very simple and educated me throughout the whole time. Communication is very big for me and he was very keen on that! Mary in the office was also very helpful and helped communicating with the insurance to cover some items they missed on their inspection/estimate. If you want a trustworthy, honest, and overall great experience choose Dynamite Roofing and Construction!!!

Frequently asked

Does Dynamite Roofing & Construction have an office in New Braunfels?
Yes. The company's contact page lists a New Braunfels office at 1067 FM 306, Suite 102, New Braunfels, TX 78130, reachable on (210) 500-8760. Its headquarters is at 2631 Gattis School Road, Suite 250, Round Rock, and it also lists Pflugerville and Ennis offices.
Is this company licensed by the State of Texas?
No, and neither is any other roofer. Texas does not issue a state roofing contractor licence. Trust in Texas rests on proof of insurance, voluntary credentials such as RCAT membership or the RCAT Licensed Roofing Contractor designation, manufacturer certifications, and any city or county registration that applies to your job.
What does the RCAT Member status mean here?
Dynamite Roofing & Construction is listed as a Member of the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas. Membership means the company pays dues and belongs to the trade association. It is not the same as RCAT's separately earned Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL, or CRL), which requires testing. Ask which one a contractor actually holds.
Which manufacturer certification is actually verified?
Owens Corning's own contractor directory carries a profile for Dynamite Roofing & Construction as a Platinum Preferred Contractor. The company's own website says Owens Corning Preferred, a lower tier, and its Austin page also claims GAF Certified. The GAF claim could not be confirmed in GAF's contractor directory, so treat it as stated by the company until they show you the certificate.
What is the BBB situation for this company?
The Better Business Bureau profile for Dynamite Roofing & Construction shows the business as not BBB accredited with a C rating, reflecting complaints on file including one the BBB records as unanswered. The BBB profile lists the business start date as August 2018, an incorporation date of January 2021, and Texas Prime Roofing, LLC as an alternate business name.
Why does hail matter so much for a New Braunfels roof?
Comal County sits inland in Central Texas, so the roofing risk here is hail and thunderstorm wind rather than coastal windstorm. Hail strips the protective granules off asphalt shingles and can fracture the shingle mat, which shortens roof life long before any leak appears.
Are Class 4 impact resistant shingles worth it in Comal County?
Class 4 is the top impact rating under the UL 2218 steel ball test and is the standard upgrade Texas homeowners consider in hail prone counties. Many Texas carriers offer a premium credit on the wind and hail portion of a policy for a Class 4 roof. Ask your own insurer what discount it allows, and ask the roofer to quote a Class 4 product line as an alternate.
Does WPI-8 or windstorm certification apply in New Braunfels?
No. WPI-8 windstorm certification through the Texas Department of Insurance applies to the 14 first tier Gulf Coast counties served by TWIA. Comal County is not one of them, so no WPI-8 inspection or certificate is required for a New Braunfels roof.
Do I need a permit for a roof replacement here?
Texas has no statewide building code enforcement for this, so permitting is set city by city and county by county. Confirm with the City of New Braunfels or Comal County which permit and inspection apply to your address, and confirm in writing who is pulling it, you or the contractor.
What should I ask before signing a roofing contract in Texas?
Ask for current general liability and workers compensation certificates sent directly from the insurer, a written scope with the exact shingle line and impact rating, the warranty terms in writing including who honours the workmanship portion, the permit responsibility, and the payment schedule. Be wary of any request for a large payment before materials are on site, and check the BBB and RCAT records yourself.
