About

Triumph Roofing is a residential and commercial roofing contractor based at 811 E Plano Pkwy, Suite 107 in Plano, serving Collin County and the wider North Dallas area. BBB records show the business started in 2009, and it has been BBB Accredited with an A+ rating since April 2011. RCAT lists it as a Member. The company's own site lists roof replacement, roof installation, roof repair, roof inspections, roof maintenance, roof coatings, gutters and commercial roofing, and it names Allen, Anna, Carrollton, Celina, Fairview, Flower Mound, Frisco, Garland, Lewisville, Little Elm, McKinney, Melissa, Plano, Prosper and Richardson as the places it works. It also markets direct help with insurance claims, which matters in a stretch of North Texas that sits inside the state's main hail corridor. Owens Corning's own contractor directory carries a profile for Triumph Roofing and Construction at the Plano address showing Platinum Preferred status, the top tier of that network. Separately, the company states it is a certified GAF installer, that it works in composition, metal, tile, modified bitumen and built-up systems, and that installations carry a 10 year labor warranty. Those last points are stated by the company and we could not confirm them at a manufacturer's own directory.

Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this listing yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

I’ve really enjoyed getting to know Ryan and the team at Triumph Roofing. Ryan has been incredibly kind, welcoming, and passionate about what he does, and it’s easy to see how much knowledge and experience the company brings to the roofing industry. One of my favorite experiences was attending a networking event Ryan invited me to where he gave a presentation about roofing materials and the industry. He even brought actual roofing materials with him, turning it into a hands-on “show and tell” experience that was both educational and genuinely fun. It was such a refreshing and interesting break from the normal workday, and you could tell he truly enjoys teaching others and helping people understand the work they do. Triumph Roofing clearly values relationships, professionalism, and educating their customers and community. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a knowledgeable, trustworthy, and personable roofing company.

Hire Triumph Roofing!!! We are glad we did! Triumph handled all the details after the May hail storms rolled through our area. Wow! They showed up to replace our roof with a crew of 13!!! They got it all done in one day: prep to protect our home, shrubs and trees and cleaning up as they go and then after install they made sure everything was picked up and fresh looking. Super impressed with the teams we worked with at Triumph Roofing.

Frequently asked

Is Triumph Roofing licensed by the State of Texas?
No roofer is. Texas does not issue a state roofing licence, so there is no such thing as a state-licensed roofer here. What you can check instead is a company's insurance certificates, its standing with the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas (RCAT), its BBB record, and whether the City of Plano requires a permit or contractor registration for your job. Triumph Roofing is listed in the RCAT directory as a Member and has been BBB Accredited with an A+ rating since 2011.
What does RCAT Member mean, and is it the same as RCAT Licensed?
They are two different things. RCAT Member means the company pays dues and belongs to the association. RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned separately by an individual through examination and continuing education. Triumph Roofing appears in the RCAT directory as a Member. That is a real affiliation, but it is not the same as the licensed credential, and any roofer who blurs the two is worth a second look.
What is an Owens Corning Platinum Preferred Contractor?
It is the top tier of Owens Corning's contractor network, above Preferred and Independent. Contractors in it are eligible to offer Owens Corning's extended system warranties. Owens Corning's own contractor directory carries a Platinum Preferred profile for Triumph Roofing and Construction at the Plano address. If an extended manufacturer warranty is part of why you are hiring, ask for the warranty paperwork in writing before you sign, because the enhanced coverage has to be registered with the manufacturer.
Are Class 4 impact-resistant shingles worth it in Plano?
Collin County sits in the part of North Texas that gets the most damaging hail in the state, so the case for Class 4 is stronger here than almost anywhere. Class 4 is the top rating under the UL 2218 steel-ball impact test. It does not make a roof hail-proof, but it resists bruising and granule loss better, and most Texas carriers offer a premium discount for it. Ask your insurer what the discount is before you decide, because it often pays back a meaningful share of the upgrade over the life of the roof.
Will my insurance pay for hail damage to my roof?
Often, but it depends on your policy. Two things drive the outcome: whether you have replacement cost value or actual cash value coverage, and whether your policy carries a separate wind and hail deductible, which is common in North Texas and is usually a percentage of the dwelling value rather than a flat amount. Get an independent inspection, document the date of the storm, and file promptly. Triumph Roofing markets direct assistance with insurance claims.
Do I need a permit to replace a roof in Plano?
Texas has no statewide building code enforcement, so permitting is set city by city. Plano operates its own building inspections department and roofing work generally requires a permit and a final inspection. Your contractor should pull it and should be able to tell you which inspections apply. Never accept a job priced on the basis of skipping the permit.
How do I verify a roofer's insurance before signing?
Ask for a certificate of insurance sent to you directly by the insurance agent, not a copy forwarded by the contractor. You want general liability and, if the crew is employed rather than subcontracted, workers compensation. Check the policy dates cover your project window. Texas does not require roofers to carry workers compensation, so if a company does not have it, ask what happens if someone is hurt on your property.
Which cities does Triumph Roofing cover?
Its own site names Plano, Allen, Anna, Carrollton, Celina, Fairview, Flower Mound, Frisco, Garland, Lewisville, Little Elm, McKinney, Melissa, Prosper and Richardson. That is a North Dallas footprint spanning Collin, Denton and Dallas counties. If you are outside that list, ask before you book an inspection.
What should I ask before signing a roofing contract in Texas?
Get the full scope in writing: decking replacement rate per sheet, underlayment type, ventilation changes, flashing and drip edge, and who handles debris and permits. Ask what the labor warranty covers and for how long, and whether the manufacturer warranty is a standard shingle warranty or a registered system warranty. Ask whether the price is contingent on your insurance settlement. And never pay in full up front.
How long does a residential roof replacement take?
Most single-family asphalt shingle replacements in this area are a one to two day tear-off and install once materials are on site, weather permitting. The longer part is usually everything before that: inspection, insurance adjustment if a claim is involved, material selection, permitting and scheduling. Complex roofs, tile, metal and low-slope sections take longer. Ask for a realistic date range in writing rather than a single promised day.
