Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Insurance Required by RCAT Licensed credential (liability and workers’ comp cover are conditions of this credential; ask for the current certificate)

City/county registration Required in Lewisville Check the registry ↗Registration is required here to pull a roofing permit; we have not confirmed this company's own status, so check it before you sign.

Confirm this licence yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search — search #03-0637 or the company name.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

The team at Pineapple did an amazing job for us. They helped us through the claims process and even got our roof replacement approved through insurance after it was originally denied. They were polite and professional and the installation team was in and out in a day. They cleaned up extremely well after the job. Thanks Jr and James!!

I highly recommend Pineapple roofing. I was at first interested in them when I saw the job they did on my neighbors house. They had what looked like an army of workers - quite impressive. So I hired them to replace my roof, gutters, and restaining of my fence. And to work with my insurance company. They took care of EVERYTHING! All the work was top notch and QUALITY! Hassle free and easy to deal with. If you have hail damage I can’t recommend more highly this company!

Pineapple Roofing was referred to me by a friend. I reached out to Pineapple Roofing about doing roofing repairs in Duncanville, TX. Within a few days I spoke with Will and he informed me they would be sending someone out to look at my roof. Jr came out and looked at the damage and advised me I had hail damage. Needless to say, my insurance company had previously turned me down for hail damage repairs. So I was a little skeptical about asking for a second inspection. This is when Pineapple Roofing went to work. They came out and documented damages and took 355 pictures of hail damage done to my roof. My insurance adjuster took all of 5 minutes to come to the inspection( never once getting on the roof) and turned it down once again as he drove down the street. I was about to give up when Pineapple Roofing went into overdrive. The very next day my insurance adjuster called and stated, “my claim was 100% approved”. I was so shocked I called Will and asked, “what did you do”, because I had not had a chance to get over the initial shock of being turned down. The roof was installed and Ben (site manager) was out there making sure everything was done correctly. My end product is a gorgeous roof one that I can be proud of. If you’re in need of a roof and you feel like all else has failed please reach out to Pineapple Roofing and let them help you. Theses guys are so amazing, professional, and knowledgeable to be so young. They know their jobs and they do it well!

Frequently asked

Is Pineapple Roofing licensed by the State of Texas?
Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so no roofer in Texas is state-licensed. Instead, homeowners should look for proof of liability insurance, voluntary credentials such as RCAT status, and manufacturer certifications. Pineapple Roofing advertises that it is insured and holds manufacturer credentials from IKO, GAF and CertainTeed.
What is the difference between an RCAT Member and an RCAT Licensed Roofing Contractor?
The Roofing Contractors Association of Texas has two distinct levels. A Member simply belongs to the association, while a Licensed Roofing Contractor has separately earned RCAT's voluntary licensing credential by passing an exam and meeting insurance and experience requirements. They are not the same thing, so ask which one a contractor actually holds.
What services does Pineapple Roofing offer?
The company handles roof replacement, roof repair, storm damage repair, emergency repairs, commercial roofing, gutter installation and siding installation. Through its broader construction arm it also offers restoration work for water, fire, mold and storm damage, plus remodeling and new construction.
What areas does Pineapple Roofing serve?
Pineapple Roofing is headquartered in Lewisville and serves the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, including Frisco, Plano, McKinney, Prosper, Flower Mound, Southlake, Colleyville, Trophy Club, Highland Park and University Park. The company also lists an office location in Austin.
Does Pineapple Roofing offer free roof inspections?
Yes. The company offers what it calls a Complimentary Professional Photo Audit, a no-cost roof assessment where the crew documents the roof's condition with photos so the homeowner can review the findings before committing to any work.
Should I consider Class 4 impact-resistant shingles in North Texas?
Often yes. The Dallas-Fort Worth area sits in the heart of Texas Hail Alley, and Class 4 shingles are rated to withstand the largest hail in standard impact testing. Many Texas insurers offer premium discounts for Class 4 roofs, so ask both your roofer and your insurance agent to run the numbers.
Will my roof replacement need a permit in the Dallas-Fort Worth area?
Texas has no statewide building code for this, so permitting is handled city by city. Lewisville, Frisco, Plano and most DFW suburbs each have their own rules on permits and inspections for reroofing. A local contractor should know each city's requirements and handle any needed paperwork as part of the job.
What roofing materials does Pineapple Roofing install?
The company works with asphalt shingles, metal roofing, tile, stone-coated steel and slate for pitched roofs, and TPO and PVC membranes for flat and commercial roofs.
How does the insurance claim process work after hail or storm damage?
After a storm, document the damage, contact your insurer to open a claim, and have a roofing contractor inspect the roof and provide a written scope of damage. The insurer sends an adjuster, and a knowledgeable local roofer can meet the adjuster on site to make sure all storm-related damage is identified. Never sign over your claim or pay a large deposit before work begins.
What should I ask a Texas roofing company before signing a contract?
Ask for a certificate of liability insurance sent directly from the insurer, the physical office address, local references from recent jobs, the exact materials and manufacturer warranty being quoted, and who performs the work. Get the full scope, price and workmanship warranty in writing, and be cautious with door-to-door storm chasers who ask you to sign on the spot.
