About

Triangle DJ Contractors LLC now trades as TDJ Contractors, a Fort Worth roofing and construction company. The registered name gives no hint of the trade, but roofing is genuinely the core of the business. BBB files the company first under Roofing Contractors, GAF's own commercial contractor directory carries a Fort Worth listing for Triangle DJ Contractors LLC, RCAT holds it as a roofing contractor, and the company's public site is built around residential and commercial roofing with separate multi-family and HOA/condo roofing pages. Alongside roofing the company operates as a general construction group, taking on commercial and multifamily building restoration, reconstruction, water damage repair, and fire and smoke damage repair. Its marketing is aimed heavily at property managers, HOA boards and insurance agents rather than only at homeowners, and it advertises 24/7 emergency response. BBB records the business as incorporated in February 2011, accredited since April 2023 with an A+ rating, and names Derek Steiner as CEO/Owner, Payton Gregory as operations manager and Rebecca Denke as controller. The Fort Worth base is a working office rather than a mail drop. RCAT and the company's own Yelp listing both put it at 7535 Oakmont Blvd, Fort Worth 76132, while BBB records the headquarters at 6115 Camp Bowie Blvd Ste 225, Fort Worth 76116, with the same (972) 291-1800 number across all of them. BBB also records a second Texas office in Austin.

Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this licence yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search — search #03-0687 or the company name.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

Triangle DJ did a very poor roofing job for me in Oklahoma. The roof was "finished" in January 2020, but it took almost another year and a half to correct all the deficiencies the roof had. I've received their "10-year leak free warranty" in April 2021. My soffit developed a leak due to their gutter contractor installing the gutter too high and pushing up on the shingles. Called them and was told they no longer service OK area. They did give me the gutter contractor's number, however. I called them up and was told TDJ never paid them for the job... They are still carrying a valid license here and advertising OK as one of their locations on their website. Stay far away from these crooks. Update 3/30/23: filled a complaint with BBB and these clowns are now saying they consider the roof totaled and warranty void because we had some "storms" the last couple of years. Stay far, far away.

Dylan and Keith are great to work with. They are thorough and pay careful attention to detail. The results are amazing. We highly recommend TDJ for any home improvement project.

Working with Logan H has been as smooth as I could have imagined. From start to finish he has been super helpful since this was my partner and I first claim for a new roof. He walked us through all the steps and was always very communicative. If the need arises will not mind working with Logan again!

These guys are the absolute BEST. We had an indoor water leak and after we got the repair finished, Keith and Dylon were on it. We had commercial fans and dehumidifiers running nonstop for five days. They checked several times sand took readings to make sure it was drying. As the fans were going, TDJ went to work and pulled our baseboards to dry. Fortunately, we were able to reuse them. Once we were completely dry, Dylon started to reinstall the woodwork. Talking about attention to detail and meticulous workmanship. These guys were awesome. Everything had to be perfect before moving on. Today Joe , the painter came back with Dylon and again we were blown away with their work. When they finished, they cleaned up everything and even vacuumed! We highly recommended TDJ and were so lucky to find a one stop service that took care of all of our needs!

Everyone I’ve worked with in this company has been awesome. Starting and ending with Nick Coats, he has been so very helpful and patient with us on our residence and our commercial property. Their people at their home office are awesome as well. They’re all very professional, experienced, and knowledgeable on the insurance side of things and how to handle claims. My insurance agency has been terrible to deal with and Nick and his coworkers have lead me through every step with patience, professionalism, and kindness. Their contractors got the work done fast and were very professional as well.

Frequently asked

The name says contractors, not roofing. Is this actually a roofing company?
Yes. Triangle DJ Contractors LLC trades publicly as TDJ Contractors, and roofing is its primary line. The Better Business Bureau files it first under Roofing Contractors, GAF lists it in its own commercial contractor directory, RCAT holds it as a roofing contractor, and its website is organised around residential, commercial, multi-family and HOA/condo roofing. It also does broader construction and restoration work alongside the roofing.
What types of property does TDJ Contractors work on?
Its published material covers single-family homes, offices, warehouses, apartment and multifamily buildings, and HOA and condominium communities. BBB lists its service categories as commercial roofing, residential roofing, multi-family roofing, HOA and condo roofing, reconstruction services, water damage repair, and fire and smoke damage repair.
Is TDJ Contractors licensed by the State of Texas?
Texas issues no state roofing licence, so no Texas roofer holds one. What is checkable is insurance, RCAT standing, city or county registration where required, and BBB record. TDJ Contractors has been BBB accredited since 2023 with an A+ rating.
What is the difference between an RCAT Member and an RCAT Licensed Roofing Contractor?
RCAT Membership is dues-based association membership. The RCAT Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (RRL, CRL or CRRL) is a separate, individually earned credential with testing and continuing education behind it. Treating the two as the same thing is the most common mistake homeowners make when comparing Texas roofers.
What does a listing in GAF's contractor directory mean?
It means GAF itself recognises the company as a contractor it works with, which is a meaningfully better signal than a manufacturer logo pasted onto a website. GAF runs separate residential and commercial programmes with different tiers, so ask which programme and which tier a contractor is in, and confirm it on GAF's own locator.
The company says it is a preferred vendor for insurance carriers. What should I check?
Preferred vendor status is a commercial relationship between the contractor and the carrier, not a government credential. It can speed up scheduling and paperwork, but you are not required to use a carrier-recommended contractor. Under Texas law a roofing contractor cannot act as a public insurance adjuster on a claim they are also bidding to repair, so be wary of anyone offering to negotiate your claim for you.
How bad is hail on Dallas-Fort Worth roofs?
North Texas is the centre of what the industry calls Hail Alley, and Tarrant and Dallas counties see damaging hail most years. Class 4 impact-resistant shingles are tested to withstand a two-inch steel ball drop, and most Texas homeowners' insurers offer a premium discount for a Class 4 roof. Ask your agent for the discount figure before deciding on the upgrade.
Do I need a permit to reroof in Fort Worth?
Texas has no statewide building code enforcement, so this is set locally. The City of Fort Worth and each surrounding municipality run their own permitting and inspection rules, and unincorporated Tarrant County works differently again. Establish which jurisdiction covers your address and who is pulling the permit before the tear-off starts.
What should an HOA board or property manager ask before awarding a roofing contract?
Ask for insurance certificates issued directly by the agent, ask whether the crews are employees or subcontractors and who carries workers' compensation, ask for the manufacturer system being specified and what warranty the manufacturer will issue on it, ask for the contractor's own workmanship warranty in writing, and ask for references on comparable multi-building projects.
Where is TDJ Contractors based?
Fort Worth, Texas. RCAT and the company's Yelp listing show 7535 Oakmont Blvd, Fort Worth 76132, and BBB records the headquarters at 6115 Camp Bowie Blvd Ste 225, Fort Worth 76116, both on (972) 291-1800. BBB also records a second Texas office in Austin. Published office hours are Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.
