About

This Wylie company appears in the RCAT directory as Texas Roofing & Construction Inc. and trades publicly as Texas Roofing Contractors, Inc., abbreviated TRC. Its BBB profile records the legal name Texas Roofing Contractors, Inc. with Taylor Roofing & Construction as an alternate name, so the same business has traded under all three. The website roofingnorthtexas.com is confirmed as this company's own site by the RCAT record, which lists it directly, and by the BBB profile, which lists the same domain, the same owner and the same Wylie address. The company works out of 2744 FM 1378, Suite 2, Wylie, TX 75098, in Collin County, and is owned by Joshua Taylor, who publishes a direct mobile line of (469) 667-0176 alongside the office number (972) 442-1711. BBB records the corporation as formed in September 2016 and accredited since April 2017, with an A+ rating. TRC is a roofer and a general contractor. The site lists residential, commercial and multi-family roofing, metal roofing, roof repair, re-roofing, new construction roofing, specialty roofing, colour selection, gutters, exterior painting, siding, window and screen work, storm damage repair and general contracting. Coverage is described by county: Collin, Rockwall, Dallas and Hunt, with Wylie, Allen, McKinney, Plano, Garland, Rockwall and Dallas named as cities. This is North Texas hail country, well inland of the coast, so hail and wind claims are the dominant storm work.

Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this listing yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

We have needed a roof for the past 4 years! Wells Fargo home project loan vendor list is where we found Texas roofing contractors! To say they were the best and easiest to work with is an understatement! Bob Reynolds made this run as smooth as possible we had an amazing crew who did a great job start to finish! We are blessed to know we have a quality roof and can safely say we will have no leaks this storm season!!! Thank you!

Josh and his team went above and beyond. Made the whole process seem less and felt confident in a trusted company. Process was detailed and thorough, and his team was very professional on site. I cannot recommend Texas Roofing & Construction Inc enough. They take care of you like they are working on one of their own properties. Give them a call, you will not be disappointed!

Truly the best in the business! Texas Roofing exceeded every expectation from start to finish. From the moment they came out for the initial inspection, I knew I was dealing with a team that values honesty, professionalism, and quality workmanship. They walked me through every detail, explained what needed to be done (and what didn’t—which I really appreciated), and made the entire process incredibly stress-free. Their crew showed up on time, worked efficiently, protected my property, and completed the job with absolute precision. They didn’t cut corners, they didn’t rush, and they treated my home like it was their own. When they were done, the cleanup was spotless—no nails, no debris, nothing out of place. On top of the craftsmanship, their communication is unmatched. They updated me at every step, answered all my questions without hesitation, and made sure I felt confident and informed the whole way through. It’s rare to find a roofing company that combines skill, transparency, and genuine customer care, but Texas Roofing does it all. My roof looks incredible, my home feels protected, and I have total peace of mind knowing the job was done right the first time. I highly recommend Texas Roofing to anyone who wants quality work, fair pricing, and a team that truly stands behind everything they do. They’ve earned a lifelong customer!

TRC Roofing recently replaced my entire roof from storm damages. I worked with Brad Campbell and Josh Taylor directly, and they were both extremely communicative and helpful. From the time of filing the claim, to working with the adjuster and performing the work, they were incredible to work with. Not to mention, did an excellent job on my roof as well. Definitely will use them again in the future for my roofing needs!

Frequently asked

Why does this company appear under more than one name?
The RCAT directory carries it as Texas Roofing & Construction Inc., the BBB records the legal name Texas Roofing Contractors, Inc. with Taylor Roofing & Construction as an alternate name, and the website brands it as Texas Roofing Contractors or TRC. All of these point to the same Wylie business, the same owner and the same phone numbers. Check the (469) 667-0176 number and the FM 1378 address to be sure.
Is a Texas roofer required to hold a state licence?
No. Texas does not issue a statewide roofing contractor licence, so nobody in this directory is state licensed for roofing. The checks that do mean something are a current certificate of general liability and workers compensation insurance, standing with a trade body such as RCAT, a real local address, and any contractor registration your city requires.
What does RCAT Member mean here?
RCAT is the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas. Member means the company belongs to the association and pays dues. It is separate from RCAT's earned Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL), which involves testing and documented experience. This company is listed as a Member.
Does Wylie need a permit for a roof replacement?
Texas has no statewide building code office, so permitting is decided locally. Wylie and the surrounding Collin and Rockwall County cities generally require a permit and a final inspection for a full replacement. Ask who is pulling the permit, get the number, and keep the inspection result with your paperwork for resale.
How bad is hail in Collin and Rockwall counties?
North Texas sits in the part of the state that takes the most damaging hail, with the heaviest season running roughly March through June. Repeated bruising can shorten a roof's life even when nothing leaks straight away, which is why a post-storm inspection is worth doing even if the ceiling looks fine.
Should I pay extra for Class 4 impact-resistant shingles?
In hail country it is usually the first upgrade worth pricing. Class 4 shingles are impact rated and many Texas insurers give a premium discount for them. Call your carrier for the discount figure first, then ask for the Class 4 option quoted line by line against the standard shingle so you can see the payback period.
The company also does siding, painting and windows. Is that a problem?
Not by itself. A general contractor that also roofs can be convenient after a storm that damaged more than the roof, since one contract covers the lot. Just make sure the scope names each trade separately with its own price and its own warranty, rather than one lump sum for exterior restoration.
How do I verify the insurance before work starts?
Ask for the certificate of insurance to be sent to you directly by the insurance agent, not forwarded by the contractor, and check that both general liability and workers compensation are current and that the policy dates cover your install window. If a roofer carries no workers compensation, ask in writing who is liable if a crew member is hurt on your property.
What belongs in the written contract?
Brand, product line and colour of the shingle or panel, underlayment and flashing details, how decking replacement is priced per sheet, ventilation, permit responsibility, clean up and magnet sweep, the payment schedule, the workmanship warranty term, and the start and finish window. Anything agreed verbally on the driveway should be added to the document before you sign.
Is my deductible negotiable on a hail claim?
No. Under Texas law you are responsible for paying your insurance deductible, and a contractor who offers to waive it, absorb it, or hide it in an inflated invoice is putting both of you at risk. Treat that offer as a reason to get another quote.
