About

Texas Direct Roofing & Construction operates from 231 NE Loop 820, Hurst, TX 76053, in Tarrant County, and works across the Dallas Fort Worth metro. Its own About page describes it as an award winning roofing contractor since 2017, and lists a leadership team of co-founders Jerrimy Farris and Matt Andrews, managing partner Nathan Lemons and chief operating officer Brandon Woodside. The BBB record shows the company accredited since January 2018. The work is residential roofing led and heavily storm oriented. Published services cover roof inspections, residential roof replacement, roof repair, roof maintenance and storm damage restoration, with insurance claim support as a central part of the pitch. The company also sells the surrounding exterior trades, including gutters, windows, siding, fencing, exterior painting, outdoor living and interior remodels, so a hail claim can be handled as one job rather than several. On credentials the company states it holds Owens Corning Platinum Preferred status, which it describes as the manufacturer's top tier, and it also names CertainTeed Master Shingle Applicator and Atlas Platinum Select Contractor, plus work with IKO and F-Wave products. A contractor profile for Texas Direct Roofing & Construction does exist in Owens Corning's own directory, which confirms manufacturer network membership. The tier shown on that profile did not render for us, so the Platinum level and the CertainTeed and Atlas designations are recorded as stated by the company. The company also publishes an RCAT licence number, 01-0501, consistent with the RCAT Licensed status on our record.

Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this licence yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search — search #01-0501 or the company name.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

10 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐'s!!!!! Thank you Texas Direct Roofing, I feel like I have a brand new house! I highly recommend Texas Direct and if you can, work with Rob Duke. Rob made us feel like we were his only customers. His response time was excellent. He always made sure I got exactly what I asked for and never made me feel like I was being a pain. I have never had such a good experience with a contractor EVER. They made our vison for our home come to life and in a very reasonable time. Even when I did not love how something turned out Rob would get it fixed asap. Excellent communication, I always new the schedule for the week and when he said someone was showing to do a job they did at the exact time he said they would. The window awning they built for us turned out more than perfect. I see others like ours on other homes and I will say the quality of ours is 10xs better! I cannot recommend Texas Direct Roofing enough, I will be using them for all of my future projects!!

From start to finish, everything was top-notch working with Texas Direct. Charles Bryant was great throughout the process as far as keeping in touch, being professional, courteous, respectful and personable, and going above and beyond in making sure everything was well taken care of. The roofing team were excellent also, completing the work in just one day, and covering flowerbeds with tarp and leaving the area amazingly clean! I've already referred a friend to them because of how pleased I was. What an awesome upgrade to the house!! Thanks for such a wonderful experience :)

In late 2025, our home got hit hard by a freak hailstorm. The next day, a man named Parker knocked on our door to offer a free inspection of our roof. He took pictures and walked us through his findings. He said that our roof suffered a lot of damage. After speaking with him and checking into the company, we decided to hire them to do our roof replacement. Parker was amazing every step of the way. He walked us through everything and was very thorough with his communication and setting expectations. I know that many contractors are wonderful up front, but when you sign with them, they do a complete turn and communication can be minimal. Not so with Texas Direct Roofing! They answered our questions every step of the way and made sure that we were kept in the loop. We even changed our roof color in the process, which added a layer of complexity due to approvals from the HOA, but Parker helped us through it all. I definitely would do business again with them!

We were told by several roofers that they could get a new roof for us but never could . Then Kittie showed up and a roof got approved by insurance. Then we decided to add a sun room before the roof. It was not a problem even with huge banking delays. So the room was built and the roof was replaced. We love the room and the roof. Kittie is the most customer service oriented person I’ve ever dealt with. Every phone call answered every text responded to. Never any excuses only solutions. The construction company that did the room was also exceptional. We are very happy with the whole project (except for the banking part) thank you.

Frequently asked

Is Texas Direct Roofing licensed by the State of Texas?
Texas has no state roofing licence, so no roofer holds one. This company publishes an RCAT licence number, 01-0501, and our record shows RCAT Licensed status. That is an industry credential earned through the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas, not a government licence, and it is worth more than plain membership.
What is the difference between RCAT Member and RCAT Licensed?
Membership means the company joined the association and pays dues. The Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned separately through RCAT's own requirements and testing. They are not the same thing and one does not imply the other. Our record shows this company as RCAT Licensed.
How do I check the Owens Corning Platinum Preferred claim?
Search the contractor by name in Owens Corning's own contractor locator on owenscorning.com rather than trusting a badge image on a company website. The directory shows whether the contractor is in the network and at what tier. Preferred and Platinum Preferred are different levels with different warranty entitlements, so confirm the tier before you rely on it for a warranty.
Are Class 4 impact resistant shingles worth it in Tarrant County?
North Texas is the centre of Texas hail alley and Tarrant County takes damaging hail most years. Class 4 shingles are rated under UL 2218 to survive a steel ball impact without cracking the mat, and many Texas insurers offer a premium credit for a documented Class 4 roof. Ask your own carrier what discount applies and what proof it wants, because it varies by insurer.
How does a hail insurance claim usually work?
You report the damage to your carrier, an adjuster inspects, and the carrier issues a scope and an estimate based on actual cash value first, with the recoverable depreciation released once the work is completed and invoiced. A contractor can meet the adjuster and point out damage, but they cannot negotiate the claim on your behalf unless they are a licensed public adjuster, which in Texas a contractor cannot be for the same job.
Can a roofer pay or absorb my deductible?
No. Texas law prohibits a roofing contractor from paying, waiving, rebating or absorbing your insurance deductible. Offers to make the deductible disappear, or to inflate a scope to cover it, are a reason to walk away. Plan on paying it.
Who pulls the permit for a roof replacement in Hurst or the DFW metro?
There is no statewide Texas building code enforcement, so permits and inspections are set by each city. Most DFW cities require a permit for a full replacement, and the contractor normally pulls it. Confirm in writing who is responsible, and keep the final inspection record with your property documents.
How do I verify insurance and workers compensation?
Ask for the certificate of insurance to be sent to you directly by the insurance agent rather than forwarded by the salesperson. Check general liability limits and the policy dates, and ask specifically about workers compensation, because Texas does not require most private employers to carry it. Get the answer in writing before anyone gets on the roof.
What does the workmanship warranty actually cover?
It covers the installation, not the shingle, and it is issued by the roofing company rather than the manufacturer. That means it is only as durable as the company. Ask for the length in writing, what it excludes, whether it transfers on sale, and whether an enhanced manufacturer backed warranty is available through the contractor's certification tier.
What should I ask before signing after a storm?
Get the full scope in writing including underlayment, ventilation, flashing and decking allowances, the shingle line and impact rating, the payment schedule, lien waivers, and whether the crews are employees or subcontractors. Do not sign anything that authorises work at whatever the insurance pays without a stated scope and price. If you signed in reliance on an insurance payout that is later denied, Texas law may give you a short right to cancel, so read that clause.
