Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this licence yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search — search #03-0619 or the company name.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

T-Rock Roofing was referred to me by a long time friend some 5 years ago. I retained them then and they helped me reach a settlement with my homeowners insurance. Two years ago, I retained T-Rock again to install a cash roof on a rental property of ours. I was very pleased with the work, especially since they took the initiative to replace a few plywood sheets as well as trimmed back overhanging branches (did not charge me fpr the extra work). Over the years, I’ve referred them to several close contacts of mine for their roofing needs. Several months ago, I asked T-Rock to inspect the roof on my residence. Hail damage was documented. They returned for walk throughs on the roof with our insurance adjusters three times. Their team stood by me during struggles we encountered with our homeowners insurance until an award was granted. Finally this week, T-Rock installed a new roof on our home. My entire family thanks your team for your relentless support and commendable work!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I cannot say enough great things about Chase Holland and T Rock Roofing! From the very beginning, Chase was professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in making sure everything was handled correctly. He took the time to explain the entire process, answered every question, and kept me informed every step of the way. What impressed me most was his dedication to advocating for his customers. Chase went above and beyond when dealing with the insurance company, ensuring nothing was overlooked. His expertise, honesty, and attention to detail made what could have been a stressful experience incredibly smooth and straightforward. The workmanship was outstanding, the project was completed on time, and the entire team demonstrated professionalism and pride in their work. It's rare to find someone who combines excellent customer service with genuine integrity, but Chase does exactly that. If you're looking for a roofing professional you can trust, I highly recommend Chase Holland and T Rock Roofing. They exceeded my expectations in every way, and I wouldn't hesitate to use them again or recommend them to family and friends.

I had T Rock Roofing inspect my roof and was fully expecting to hear that it needed to be replaced. Instead, they gave me an honest assessment and told me the roof still had life left in it. That kind of integrity is hard to find in this industry. They took the time to educate me about how roofing systems work, explained the insurance process, and shared information about other exterior restoration services they offer as well. I never felt pressured or sold to. It’s refreshing to find a roofing company that puts honesty ahead of making a quick sale. Based on my experience, I would absolutely recommend T Rock Roofing & Contracting and will be calling them when I do need work done.

We had an amazing experience working with Ray Holtzclaw at T-Rock Roofing. From start to finish, everything was smooth, professional, and stress-free! Ray was incredibly helpful when it came to choosing the right color for our home. He took the time to look at our exterior brick and existing colors and gave thoughtful input on what would complement it best. He even showed us photos of a few black roofs he had recently completed, which really helped us visualize the final result. We ended up going with a black roof and black gutters, and we absolutely love how it turned out! The job was completed so quickly, and his crew was friendly and respectful throughout the entire process. They kept everything clean while working and did a thorough cleanup once the project was finished. Our neighbors saw the before and after and loved it so much that I’ve already recommended him to them! Overall, it was such a great experience. Ray is knowledgeable, honest, and clearly cares about the quality of his work. I would highly recommend Ray Holtzclaw at T-Rock Roofing for a new roof or any repairs you may need.

After a car crashed into my garage, I found T Rock Roofing on Google and was connected with Ray Holtzclaw, a Senior Project Manager. He was able to turn a nightmare scenario into a genuinely smooth experience. Ray handled everything from the start: getting the garage boarded up immediately, guiding me through the insurance and permit process, and managing additional projects outside the claim scope. Permits in Dallas dragged on, but Ray stayed on top of it the entire time. Once they cleared, his crew knocked out the full primary structural repairs in under a week, then spent the following two weeks coming back to fine-tune details most contractors wouldn’t even notice. The attention to detail was unmatched. T Rock Roofing is also Fortified certified, which added another layer of confidence in the quality of their work. Ray is my first call if anything else comes up, and I look forward to working with him and his team on future projects. If you’re dealing with an insurance claim, storm damage, or any structural repair, these are the people you want in your corner.

Frequently asked

Is T Rock Roofing the same company as T Rock Construction?
They are related brands based at the same Flower Mound address. T Rock Roofing & Contracting (dallasroofer.com) is the residential and commercial roofing arm, while T Rock Construction (trockgc.com) focuses on commercial and multi family construction. This listing covers the roofing company.
Is T Rock licensed by the State of Texas?
Texas has no state roofing license, so no roofer in Texas is state licensed. T Rock is listed with the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas (RCAT) as a Licensed Roofing Contractor, a voluntary credential earned through testing and insurance requirements. Always ask for current proof of liability insurance.
How long has T Rock been in business?
BBB records show the business started in July 2007, and it has been BBB accredited with an A+ rating since April 2010. On its own website the company traces its North Texas roofing roots back to 1959.
What roof types can T Rock install?
Its site lists asphalt shingle, metal, clay tile, slate and synthetic slate (it states it is a Brava certified installer), cedar shake, and flat or low slope systems including TPO, PVC, EPDM, modified bitumen, built up roofing and roof coatings.
Is T Rock manufacturer certified?
CertainTeed's own directory lists T-Rock Roofing & Construction in Flower Mound as a ShingleMaster PRO, credentialed since 2018. The company also states GAF Master Elite and IBHS FORTIFIED credentials on its website; those additional credentials are stated by the company.
Where does T Rock work?
The company lists offices in Flower Mound, Dallas, Plano, Arlington, Lewisville, Keller and Sherman, and serves Dallas, Fort Worth, Arlington, Plano, McKinney, Frisco and dozens of other North Texas cities.
Why is hail such a big deal in Flower Mound and DFW?
North Texas sits in the heart of Hail Alley, and hail is the leading cause of roof insurance claims in the region. Impact resistant Class 4 shingles hold up better in hail and can earn a discount on many homeowners insurance policies, so ask about them when comparing bids.
Can a roofer cover my insurance deductible?
No. Texas law makes it illegal for a contractor to waive, absorb or rebate your insurance deductible, and insurers can require proof you paid it. Treat any deductible waiving offer as a serious red flag.
Do I need a permit to reroof in the DFW area?
Permitting in Texas is handled city by city, and Flower Mound, Dallas, Plano and other Metroplex cities each run their own permit offices with different rules for reroofs. Confirm with your contractor which permits and inspections apply to your address before work begins.
What should I ask before signing a roofing contract?
Ask for a certificate of insurance sent directly from the roofer's agent, the company's RCAT status, a written scope with specific products and prices, warranty terms in writing, and local references you can call.
