About

State Roofing Company runs its Brazos Valley operation from an office at 4090 Raymond Stotzer Parkway in College Station, on its own phone line, (979) 260-7663. This is a genuine staffed branch rather than a forwarding address. It holds its own Better Business Bureau profile with the BBB serving Central Texas, accredited with an A+ rating since 7 January 2020, listing Natalie Giffin and Josh Sebesta as managers at the College Station location. It also has its own entry in GAF's contractor directory registered to the Raymond Stotzer Parkway address, its own Yelp page, its own Instagram account, and a dedicated College Station page on the company website. RCAT lists the College Station registration separately from the Houston one. The College Station office covers College Station, Bryan and the surrounding Brazos Valley, handling residential and commercial roof installation, repair, replacement and maintenance, re-roofing, roof inspections, gutters and gutter guards, roof cleaning, and storm damage documentation and insurance claim coordination. The company markets 24 hour emergency response, and Yelp records office hours of Monday to Thursday 8am to 5pm and Friday 7am to 2pm, closed at weekends. Warranty options quoted on the company's own pages are 10, 25 and 30 year workmanship terms sitting alongside the separate manufacturer material warranty. The credentials here check out independently. GAF's own contractor directory confirms the College Station listing at Master Elite level with President's Club Award status, which is GAF's top residential tier. RCAT's directory shows the company holding both commercial and residential roofing licences, which is the earned Licensed Roofing Contractor credential rather than plain membership. Central Texas gets its roofing work from spring thunderstorm season, which is where hail, wind driven rain and wind uplift damage come from, and the company's College Station material is built around exactly that.

Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this licence yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search — search #03-0169 or the company name.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

Best company I have ever dealt with! They took care of all the insurance paperwork, and did the job professionally and very quickly. Their warranty service is unmatched. I highly recommend them to all roofing services.

State Roofing is the only roofing company I will use in College Station. Josh walked me through the entire replacement process from start to finish, answered all my questions, was on time, cleaned up afterwards and has followed up with free checkups to insure quality. I am 100% confident if I ever had a problem, State Roofing will stand behind their product.

I have been denied two times by the insurance company for weather related roof damage. I find shingles in my yard but I don’t have a problem! Tony Williams from State Roofing told me about the insurance appraisal process. He arranged for an independent appraiser to come and look at the roof. Tony said to be patient, it takes time but go through the process. Six months later, success! The roof is complete. Tony walked me through every step. He explained the recommended shingle. Help me pick a color. Told me where to find homes nearby that had that color shingle. State Roofing also arranges for new gutters. The office girl came out multiple times to help pick the color. We looked at the color at different areas of my home and at different times of the day. Tony explained how installation day would go. Don’t be home, we will take care of it. He did. I left for work, came home and it was done! The next day, same with the gutters. You don't know that there were workers at your home. No trace. No trash, or nails. Nothing but great results. Tony said trust the process. I did! I am thrilled with the results. Jonelle Wilkins

State Roofing Company made the entire process of replacing my roof so easy from start to finish. Josh, Tony, and Chase were amazing to work with—they walked me through every step of my insurance claim, explained what to expect, and made sure everything was handled quickly and professionally. The crew was efficient, respectful of my property, and the quality of the work is top-notch. My roof looks fantastic, and I have peace of mind knowing it was done right. I highly recommend State Roofing Company, especially if you’re dealing with storm damage or an insurance claim. Ask for Tony, Josh, or Chase — they’ll take great care of you!

We no longer own the home having sold it to move into a senior high rise about seven years ago. State Roofing gave us a very fair estimate to replace the roof, performed an excellent job and clean up. My homeowner’s insurance didn’t agree to the total cost initially due to the steep roof of the house, but after John from State Roofing showed the insurance company their error, the insurance company paid the amount requested. A few months later my gutters and roof had minor damage due to a neighbor’s tree during a windstorm. State Roofing repaired the damage at no cost.

Frequently asked

Does State Roofing really have a College Station office, or is it a Houston company with a local number?
It is a real branch. The College Station location at 4090 Raymond Stotzer Parkway holds its own BBB accreditation with the BBB serving Central Texas, has named resident managers on that profile, runs its own phone line on (979) 260-7663, has its own Yelp page and Instagram account, and is registered separately in both GAF's contractor directory and RCAT's directory. Houston is a separate registration.
Is State Roofing licensed by the State of Texas?
Texas issues no statewide roofing contractor licence, so the honest answer is that no Texas roofer holds one. What this company does hold is the RCAT Licensed Roofing Contractor credential in both commercial and residential categories, which is an association credential earned through testing, plus general liability and workers compensation cover. Ask to see the insurance certificate and confirm it is current.
What is the difference between RCAT Member and RCAT Licensed Roofing Contractor?
Membership means a company has joined the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas and pays dues. The Licensed Roofing Contractor credential is separate and is earned by examination and continuing education, in residential, commercial or both. RCAT's directory shows State Roofing holding commercial and residential licences, which is the stronger of the two positions. They are not interchangeable and a contractor should not blur them.
How do I check the GAF Master Elite claim myself?
Go to GAF's own contractor locator at gaf.com and search College Station, TX. The College Station listing for State Roofing Company appears there at Master Elite level with President's Club Award status. That matters commercially because only Master Elite contractors can offer GAF's Golden Pledge limited warranty. Never take a Master Elite badge on a contractor's own website at face value without checking the manufacturer's directory.
Is the College Station office BBB accredited in its own right?
Yes. The BBB serving Central Texas holds a separate profile for the College Station location, accredited with an A+ rating since 7 January 2020, showing Natalie Giffin and Josh Sebesta as managers there. The Houston office carries its own separate BBB profile with the BBB of Greater Houston and South Texas. Two independent accreditations is a stronger signal than one profile listing branch addresses.
Does the Brazos Valley actually get damaging hail?
Yes. College Station and Bryan sit in Central Texas storm country, and the spring thunderstorm season delivers hail, high wind and heavy rain most years. Hail is the dominant cause of roof insurance claims across inland Texas. The practical implication is that most roof replacements here are storm and claim driven rather than simple end of life replacements, so claim documentation matters as much as installation quality.
Are Class 4 impact resistant shingles worth the extra cost in College Station?
Often, yes. Class 4 shingles are tested to UL 2218 for impact resistance, and many Texas insurers offer a standing premium discount for them. Ring your carrier first and ask what the discount is in your postcode, then ask the roofer to price the Class 4 option next to the standard one. The discount can repay the upgrade over the life of the roof in a hail prone area.
Do I need a permit for a roof replacement in College Station?
Texas has no statewide building code enforcement for residential roofing, so permitting and inspection rules are set locally. Check current requirements with the City of College Station, or with the City of Bryan if your property is on that side. Make the contract state clearly who applies for the permit and who books the inspection, and keep a copy of the issued permit.
What warranties does the company offer?
The company's own pages quote workmanship warranty terms of 10, 25 or 30 years depending on the system, sitting alongside the separate manufacturer material warranty on the shingles or panels themselves. These are two different things and both should be in writing. Ask specifically which warranty tier your quote includes, whether it is registered with the manufacturer, and whether it transfers if you sell.
What should a Brazos Valley homeowner ask before signing?
Ask for current certificates of general liability and workers compensation and verify them with the insurer directly. Ask whether the crew is employed or subcontracted. Ask which office is running your job and who your point of contact is. Get the shingle line, colour and underlayment named in the contract. Never pay the full amount up front, and never let a contractor offer to cover your deductible.
