About
SPC Construction & Roofing operates from 1107 South Airport Circle, Suite B in Euless, Tarrant County, and takes calls on 817-684-1088. The Better Business Bureau records the legal entity as SPC Construction & Roofing, Inc., with the business starting in May 2000 and incorporating in October 2012. It has been BBB accredited since August 2009 and carries an A+ rating. Jonathan Shaw is listed as president and Stanford Hare as general manager.
The company works across residential and commercial roofing and covers the wider Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex from the one Euless location. Named service areas on its own site include Southlake, Grapevine, Colleyville, Hurst, Bedford, Euless, Irving, Coppell, Arlington, Fort Worth, Dallas, Rockwall, Frisco and Prosper. It is registered with the City of Plano as a general contractor, which fits that Collin County reach.
Material coverage is broad: asphalt shingles, metal, tile and synthetic slate, solar shingles, and TPO and PVC membrane for low slope work. Alongside roofing it handles gutters, siding, insulation, ventilation and storm restoration, and it takes emergency repair calls. It is a member of the North Texas Roofing Contractors Association. Note that SPC is used as initials by the company and is not expanded anywhere we could verify, so we do not spell it out.

Insurance & credential verification
Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

City/county registration
Registered — Plano Check the register ↗Registered general contractor, City of Plano. Roofing companies register in Plano's general contractor category, which also covers concrete, demolition, fence, foundation, pool and sign work; it is a $100 annual registration renewed yearly, and the city's published requirements do not list proof of insurance or a bond. This company appears on the city's own list of registered contractors. The city publishes no certificate number or expiry date for this programme, so ask to see the registration itself before work starts.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

Frequently asked
Is SPC Construction & Roofing licensed by the State of Texas?
Texas does not issue a state roofing licence, so no roofer in the state holds one. What can be checked is city registration where the job is, a current certificate of general liability and workers compensation insurance, manufacturer credentials such as Owens Corning Platinum Preferred, and association membership. The company appears on the City of Plano register of general contractors.
Was the company found in the RCAT directory?
We searched the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas member directory and did not find a record for it. RCAT membership is voluntary. This company is a member of the North Texas Roofing Contractors Association instead, which is the regional association for the Dallas Fort Worth area. If it tells you it is an RCAT member, ask for the directory link.
What does Owens Corning Platinum Preferred mean?
Platinum Preferred is the highest tier of Owens Corning's contractor network, above Preferred. Owens Corning restricts it to a small percentage of the roofing companies in its programme and requires standards for insurance, warranty performance and customer satisfaction. The practical benefit is access to Owens Corning's strongest system warranty, which lower tier contractors cannot offer.
What does SPC stand for?
The company trades as SPC Construction & Roofing and does not publish an expansion of the initials on its own website or on its BBB record, so we do not guess at one. Its email domain is spcgc.com and its website is spcroofs.com. If the full form matters to you, ask the company directly.
Why does hail drive so much roofing work around Euless and Plano?
North Texas sits in the corridor commonly called Hail Alley, and damaging hail is a recurring seasonal event across Tarrant, Dallas and Collin Counties. Most roof replacements here begin as an insurance claim after a storm rather than as a planned replacement. That is also why out of town storm crews appear after big events, and why an established local address is worth checking.
Are Class 4 impact resistant shingles worth it in Tarrant County?
Usually worth pricing at least. Class 4 is the top result under the UL 2218 steel ball impact test and those shingles resist hail bruising and granule loss better than standard products. Several Texas insurers give a premium discount for a documented Class 4 roof. Ask your own carrier what the discount is on your policy before deciding.
Who pulls the permit, and does it change between cities?
It does change, because Texas has no statewide building code administration and permitting is handled city by city. Euless, Bedford, Hurst, Plano and Fort Worth each set their own registration and inspection rules. Normally the contractor registers with the relevant city and pulls the permit. Confirm on the contract who is responsible before work starts.
Can this company handle a flat or low slope roof?
Yes. It lists TPO and PVC single ply membrane and flat metal alongside shingles, tile, synthetic slate and metal, and it runs a commercial line as well as residential. If you have a low slope section over a porch or an addition, or a small commercial building, ask which membrane it recommends and what the seam warranty is.
What warranties should I expect on a roof replacement?
Two separate ones. The manufacturer warranty covers the product and comes from Owens Corning, GAF or whoever made it, and its strongest tiers are only available through top tier certified contractors. The workmanship warranty covers installation and comes from the roofer. Most early leaks trace to installation rather than material, so get the workmanship term in writing.
What are the warning signs of a bad roofing contract in Texas?
A large deposit before materials arrive. No physical local address. A refusal to send a certificate of insurance directly from the insurer. Pressure to sign an assignment of benefits or a contingency agreement on the doorstep. And any offer to pay, waive or absorb your insurance deductible, which Texas Insurance Code Chapter 707 makes illegal for the contractor to do.
