Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this licence yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search — search #01-0472 or the company name.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

I cannot express enough my gratitude and appreciation for Vadim Roofing Ranger. The roof inspection was full of knowledge. He worked with me with my insurance to get my roof replaced when my insurance originally said no. His detailed and thorough report got me a new inspection and I was able to get a new roof. I’m in Fort Worth area and his crew came and replaced my roof with such great quality and cleaned up my property well. I highly recommend this company.

Amazing & professional work. Completed my roof in Fate, Tx in 1 day. They had workers lay tarp around my house and cleaned up everything afterwards. Also changed my gutters, and stained my fence annd shutters to the correct color. Appreciate the assist from the hail damage - from inspection to install to completion review.

The roof itself was overall very good. There is one small section that is a little off. The main reason I am deducting one star is that the “crew” left the backyard in worst condition then when they arrived. Chairs looking like they have been thrown from previous spot, I have found several nails scattered around the house, but overall satisfied with the roof. Felt a little rushed.

We started noticing a small leak near the chimney during heavy rain, so we scheduled a flashing repair before it became a larger issue. The roofing crew inspected the area carefully, replaced damaged flashing, and sealed surrounding sections thoroughly. The repair took about half a day. Compared to before, we no longer worry every time it rains, and the ceiling area has stayed completely dry since the repair. The team also checked nearby shingles to make sure there were no additional weak spots. It was a focused repair, but it gave us a lot more confidence in the roof overall.

Frequently asked

Is Roofing Ranger licensed by the State of Texas?
Texas does not license roofers at the state level, so no Texas roofing company is state licensed. What you can check instead: insurance, voluntary credentials, and local registration. Roofing Ranger holds the RCAT Licensed Roofing Contractor credential, earned through the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas voluntary licensing program.
What does RCAT Licensed mean compared to a plain RCAT Member?
RCAT membership means a company pays dues to the association. The RCAT Licensed Roofing Contractor credential is separate and harder to get: it requires passing an exam and meeting insurance and reference requirements. Licensed is the meaningful credential of the two.
What does Owens Corning Preferred Contractor mean?
It is a manufacturer designation in Owens Corning's three tier network (Contractor Rewards, Preferred, Platinum Preferred). Preferred Contractors meet Owens Corning's requirements for insurance and reliable service and can offer enhanced warranty options on Owens Corning roofing systems. Roofing Ranger's listing appears in Owens Corning's own contractor directory.
Does Roofing Ranger warranty its work?
The company advertises a 10 year workmanship guarantee on its labor plus 10 year product warranties. Get both in writing before work starts, and note that manufacturer warranties on the shingles themselves are separate from the labor guarantee.
Are Class 4 impact resistant shingles worth it in Dallas-Fort Worth?
DFW sits squarely in Texas hail alley, so often yes. Class 4 is the highest UL 2218 impact rating, and many Texas insurers give premium discounts for Class 4 roofs. Ask your insurance agent what discount applies before picking a shingle.
Do I need a permit to replace my roof in Carrollton?
Permitting in Texas is set city by city because there is no statewide code enforcement for this. Check with the City of Carrollton (or your own city's building department) about whether a permit or inspection is required, and confirm in the contract who pulls it.
Can a roofer cover my insurance deductible?
No. Texas law has prohibited contractors from waiving, paying, or rebating insurance deductibles since 2019. Treat any deductible waiving offer as a red flag and a reason to choose another company.
How does the insurance claim process work after storm damage?
You file the claim with your insurer, an adjuster inspects, and the insurer issues a scope and payment subject to your deductible. A roofer's role is documentation and repair: inspecting, photographing damage, and providing an estimate. Roofing Ranger performs storm damage inspections and repairs across DFW.
What should I check before signing with any DFW roofer?
Verify current general liability insurance directly with the insurer, get a written scope and price, confirm warranty terms, ask for local references, and make sure the company has a physical local address. Roofing Ranger operates from 1510 Randolph St, Suite 607 in Carrollton and has been in business since 2018.
Does Roofing Ranger only do roofs?
No. In addition to residential and commercial roofing it offers siding, gutter, and fencing work, which lets homeowners bundle storm related exterior repairs with one contractor.
