About

RoofCrafters, Inc. is a Central Texas roofing, siding and window contractor with its office at 610 Horizon Park Blvd in Leander, Williamson County. Its own About page dates the business to 1980 and describes it as a third-generation, locally owned contractor now past four decades of trading, and it markets itself as an Austin-area company serving Leander, Cedar Park, Round Rock, Georgetown, Liberty Hill, Hutto, Pflugerville, Lakeway, Buda, Kyle and Austin itself. The company covers more than roofing. Alongside residential and commercial roof installation, repair and replacement it lists standing seam and other metal roofing, tile, asphalt shingle and flat roof systems, plus James Hardie fibre cement siding, custom metal siding, soffits and trim, windows and doors, attic insulation, painting and storm damage restoration. Insurance claim support for wind and hail damage is a stated part of the offer, which fits a Central Texas market where hail drives most roof claims. On credentials, RoofCrafters appears in GAF's own contractor directory as a GAF Master Elite contractor, the tier that carries GAF's strongest warranty options including the Golden Pledge Limited Warranty. It is a Better Business Bureau Accredited Business with an A+ rating, accredited since 1988. The company additionally states that it is an Owens Corning Preferred contractor, a CertainTeed Quality Master, a James Hardie Elite Preferred contractor, an IB Roof Systems contractor and a member of the National Roofing Contractors Association. Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this listing yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

My roof is only six years old, but it’s been through several hail storms. I wanted a professional to take a look. Ronnie came out and put his drone up to check it out. Luckily, he told me I only needed to reseal fasteners that had penetrated the roof that no longer had caulk or silicone to protect against a leak. He charged me a very good price, and his crew came out within a few days. They were all so nice, professional, & knowledgeable. I could not recommend them more!

I had a great experience with this roofing team from start to finish. They were professional and responsive, which made me feel confident in the process. The crew showed up on time, worked efficiently, and left everything clean when they were done (which I really appreciated). My roof looks amazing and we’ve already had multiple compliments from my neighbors. Highly recommend if you’re looking for reliable, efficient and high-quality roofing work.

AI Cooley was an outstanding roof inspector. He was honest, professional, and incredibly helpful throughout the entire process. He took the time to explain everything clearly and made sure I understood the condition of my roof without trying to upsell anything unnecessary. Truly appreciate his integrity and expertise. Highly recommend Cooley to anyone needing a trustworthy roof inspection. 5 stars!

Ronnie and his team did an excellent job replacing the damaged wood trims on my exterior windows and chimney. They were helpful, patient, and professional throughout the entire process, and the quality of their work was great. Their pricing was also very reasonable. Before choosing RoofCrafters, I spoke with several other roofing companies. Unfortunately, some of them tried to trick me by exaggerating the situation and pushing unnecessary repairs. In contrast, Ronnie was honest and straightforward. I really appreciated their integrity and transparency. I feel very lucky to have found RoofCrafters and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for reliable and trustworthy siding or roofing service.

RoofCrafters did an outstanding job replacing my roof! The crew was quick, thorough, and very professional throughout the entire process. They paid close attention to detail and left everything spotless after the job was done — you’d never even know they had been there except for the beautiful new roof. I’m extremely satisfied with their work and would absolutely use them again. Highly recommend!

Frequently asked

Is this the same RoofCrafters as the one in Savannah, Georgia?
No. They are two separate, unrelated companies that happen to share a brand name. The Leander business is RoofCrafters, Inc. of 610 Horizon Park Blvd, Leander, Texas, trading on roofcrafters.com since 1980. The Savannah company is RoofCrafters Roofing, LLC, a Georgia low-country business that trades on a different domain. Nothing on the Texas company's site references a Georgia parent, branch or franchise relationship.
Does RoofCrafters hold a Texas roofing licence?
Texas issues no state roofing licence, so no roofer in Texas can hold one. The meaningful checks are current general liability and workers' compensation insurance, the company's RCAT listing, its manufacturer certifications, and whether your city requires a contractor registration to pull a roofing permit.
What does RCAT Member mean for this company?
RCAT is a voluntary trade association for Texas roofing contractors. RoofCrafters is listed as a Member, which means the company is in good standing with the association. That is distinct from RCAT's separately earned Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL), which requires examination and continuing education. The two should never be treated as interchangeable.
What is GAF Master Elite and why does it matter?
Master Elite is GAF's top residential contractor tier. GAF states that only a small fraction of roofers in North America hold it, and it cannot be bought. Practically, it is what allows a contractor to register GAF's strongest coverage, the Golden Pledge Limited Warranty, which includes workmanship backing from the manufacturer. You can confirm any contractor's tier yourself on gaf.com.
Which Central Texas areas does RoofCrafters cover?
Its service area pages list Leander, Austin, Cedar Park, Round Rock, Georgetown, Liberty Hill, Hutto, Pflugerville, Lakeway, Buda and Kyle. The company describes itself as an Austin-region contractor and says it has worked more widely across the state.
Are impact-resistant shingles worth it around Austin?
Central Texas sits in the broader Texas hail belt, and Class 4 impact-resistant shingles are rated under UL 2218 or FM 4473 impact testing. Many Texas insurers offer a premium credit for a Class 4 roof. Ask for the specific product and rating in the written scope, then confirm the discount amount with your own carrier before choosing.
Do they do siding and windows as well as roofs?
Yes. The company lists James Hardie fibre cement siding, custom metal siding, Hardieboard soffits and trim, plus windows and doors, attic insulation and exterior painting. It states James Hardie Elite Preferred contractor status, which you can verify on James Hardie's own contractor locator.
How does roofing permitting work in the Austin area?
There is no statewide Texas building code administered from Austin, so requirements are set locally. The City of Leander, City of Austin, Round Rock, Cedar Park and Georgetown each run their own permit and inspection processes, and Williamson County has its own rules for unincorporated areas. Confirm in writing who pulls the permit and ask for the final inspection record.
Can a roofer negotiate my hail claim for me?
Not as your adjuster. Texas law separates roofing contractors from public insurance adjusters, and the same firm cannot do both on one job. A contractor may inspect, document damage and meet your adjuster on the roof. Anyone offering to handle the claim on your behalf or to cover your deductible is offering something you should refuse.
What should I check before signing with any Central Texas roofer?
Get certificates of insurance emailed to you directly by the insurer rather than the contractor. Get a written scope naming the shingle line, underlayment, ventilation and flashing details. Verify the manufacturer certification tier on the manufacturer's own site. Ask for the workmanship warranty term in writing and who honours it. Keep the deposit small and tie payments to milestones.
