About

Restoration Services, Inc., which brands itself publicly as RSI, is a Houston commercial roofing, waterproofing and building restoration contractor based at 9810 Fairbanks N. Houston Rd. in northwest Harris County. Roofing is a genuine and leading service line rather than an incidental one. The company's own services page lists roofing first and describes complete commercial roofing solutions from new construction through repairs, alongside waterproofing, custom architectural sheet metal fabrication, and concrete repair and masonry restoration. The business traces its lineage to Hou-Tex Roofing, founded in 1932, and Gulf Waterproofing, founded in 1947, which combined in 1968. Restoration Services, Inc. itself was formed in September 1982 and began operating in March 1983, and the BBB record lists the business as established in 1982. A sheet metal department was added in 2002 with the acquisition of Branson Roofing, and Mike Pocock and Bryan Lindsey took full ownership between 2020 and 2021. The work is overwhelmingly commercial and institutional: colleges, hospitals, industrial facilities and multi-family properties. RSI is a BBB Accredited Business with an A+ rating, accredited since 1992, and lists membership in NRCA, WSRCA, IIBEC, AGC, ASA and ICRI. One record-keeping note for anyone checking: the website on file with RCAT, rsi-restorationservices.com, no longer resolves. The company's live site is rsitx.com.

Highlights

Commercial and institutional focus: colleges, hospitals, industrial plants and multi-family properties, not residential re-roofs.
Corporate lineage back to Hou-Tex Roofing in 1932 and Gulf Waterproofing in 1947, with RSI itself formed in 1982.
Roofing, waterproofing, sheet metal and concrete or masonry all in house, so a building envelope project does not need separate trades.
BBB Accredited Business with an A+ rating, accredited since 1992.

Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

Precision Restoration of Texas LLC exceeded every expectation I had during one of the most stressful times in my life. From day one, their team showed incredible patience, understanding, and professionalism while I was overwhelmed and trying to navigate everything. They truly made me feel like I was their only customer. The craftsmanship was absolutely outstanding—every detail was handled with care, and it’s clear they take great pride in their work. There were no shortcuts taken, just high-quality work done the right way. Not only did they deliver beautiful results, but they did so in a timely manner, which meant everything to me. What started as a difficult situation was transformed into something better than I could have imagined. I can’t recommend Precision Restoration of Texas LLC enough!

From start to finish, we had a great experience working with Precision Restoration of Texas to renovate our builder-grade master bathroom into a space we can enjoy for years to come. We met with several construction crews to obtain quotes and received various time frames back in December 2025. Ultimately, we selected Precision Restoration because of their attention to detail and the timeline they promised for project completion. The renovation took a total of 5 weeks, one week longer than anticipated due to delays in the arrival of some items like the tub and glass, which were not their fault. We also added a few additional projects, including installing sub-flooring in our above-garage attic and creating a new access point with pull-down stairs. I would like to highlight that Livia, the Project Manager, was instrumental in keeping everything on schedule and running smoothly. She ensured that all workers were clear on their tasks and maintained constant communication, updating us on expected completions throughout the project. If we have any other projects in the future, we would definitely hire Precision Restoration of Texas again.

Thank you to Precision Restoration of Texas. They did a fantastic job on my house flood. Appreciate all the help drying out the house after water break in the master bathroom. The same day we met they were ready to start work & place all heaters in place and then start the drying process. The next thing was removing furniture and removing all damaged flooring and damaged wood. They also provided a construction crew to start repairs in all the rooms that were affected. All in all it was a great experience and very satisfied with the end result. They also did an excellent job with working with insurance. Awesome job! Thank you very much. I highly recommend Precision Restoration. Thanks to Race and Lucas for their dedicated work and their team. Much appreciated.

If you are looking for a trustworthy, professional, and compassionate restoration company, I cannot recommend Precision Restoration of Texas LLC enough. From the moment we contacted them, they responded immediately and treated our situation with genuine care and urgency. What really stood out to us was their empathy and professionalism during a very sensitive time in our household involving a sick family member. They were incredibly understanding, patient, and accommodating, working around our special circumstances without ever making us feel stressed or pressured. That level of compassion is rare to find. Their team provided the best estimate we received, explained everything clearly, and delivered outstanding workmanship from start to finish. The quality of the restoration work exceeded our expectations — clean, efficient, detail-oriented, and done right the first time. If you need water damage restoration, emergency restoration services, home restoration, remediation, or general restoration work in Texas, Precision Restoration of Texas LLC is the company to call. Honest, responsive, fair pricing, and truly caring people. We are extremely grateful for everything they did for us.

We thought we had a burst pipe and contacted Precision Restoration. Raec arrived very quickly and thoroughly checked everything out. He was extremely honest about the situation, the cost, and even let us know that he wasn’t the best person to handle this particular repair. He gave us a realistic estimate of what the fix should cost and told us to call him if it ended up being more than that. Even though he didn’t complete the repair himself, his honesty, fast response, and integrity absolutely earned a 5-star review. We will definitely contact Precision Restoration in the future.

Frequently asked

Does RSI work on houses, or only commercial buildings?
RSI presents itself as a commercial contractor. Its own site describes complete commercial roofing solutions and shows project types such as colleges, hospitals, industrial facilities and multi-family residential properties. Homeowners looking for a single-family re-roof should expect this to be outside the company's normal scope and should ask before scheduling.
Which website is the current one?
rsitx.com is the live site. The older address on file with RCAT, rsi-restorationservices.com, no longer resolves in DNS. If a directory still shows the old domain, that is a stale record and not a sign of a different business.
Is there a Texas state roofing licence to check?
No. Texas does not license roofing contractors at state level, so there is no state licence number to look up for any Texas roofer. Instead, verify current general liability and workers compensation insurance directly with the insurer, check any city or county registration that applies to the job site, and look at voluntary credentials such as RCAT status and BBB accreditation.
What is the difference between RCAT Member and RCAT Licensed?
The Roofing Contractors Association of Texas has two separate things. Plain membership means the company pays dues and belongs to the association. The Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned separately through RCAT's own testing and requirements. They are not equivalent, and a company can hold one without the other.
What do the trade association memberships actually tell me?
NRCA, WSRCA, IIBEC, AGC, ASA and ICRI are professional and trade bodies, not government licences. Membership signals that the company participates in industry standards and training in roofing, building enclosure consulting, general contracting and concrete repair. It is a useful supporting signal but it is not a substitute for checking insurance certificates and references.
Does RSI hold manufacturer certifications such as GAF or Carlisle?
No manufacturer certification or approved applicator status was found published on the company's own site or in a manufacturer's own contractor directory during this review. Commercial single-ply and built-up systems usually carry manufacturer warranties that require an approved applicator, so ask RSI directly which manufacturer approvals apply to the specific system being proposed and get it in writing.
How does hail affect a commercial roof in Harris County?
Harris County sits south of the worst of the North Texas hail corridor, but severe storms still bruise membranes, dent metal flashing and crack coping and mortar joints. Hail damage on a flat commercial roof is often invisible from the ground, so a documented post-storm inspection with photographs matters if an insurance claim is going to be filed later.
Should I ask about Class 4 impact-resistant materials?
On steep-slope work in Texas it is worth asking. Class 4 impact-resistant shingles are rated to the UL 2218 steel ball test and many Texas insurers offer a premium discount for them. On low-slope commercial roofs the equivalent conversation is about membrane thickness, cover board and hail rating for the system, so ask the contractor to spell out the hail rating of what is being quoted.
Who issues the permit for commercial roof work in the Houston area?
Texas has no statewide building code administration, so permitting and inspection are handled city by city and county by county. Commercial re-roofs inside Houston city limits generally require a permit through the City of Houston, while a job in an unincorporated part of Harris County or in another municipality follows that jurisdiction's rules. Confirm in writing who is pulling the permit before work starts.
What should I ask before signing a commercial roofing contract in Texas?
Ask for current certificates of insurance sent directly from the insurer, the exact roof system and manufacturer being installed, the difference between the manufacturer warranty and the contractor workmanship warranty in years and in what each covers, who pulls the permit, how tear-off and deck repair are priced if rot is found, and what the payment schedule is. Never pay the full amount up front.
