Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this listing yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

I had a really good experience with Elite Pro roofing repair service. The technician Wil Harden was very knowledgeable, extremely professional, and friendly. My husband and I really appreciated the fact that he explained in detail what he found and what needed to be done before doing the work. The repairs were done in a timely manner and expertly completed. Everyone I spoke with at Elite Pro were very professional, friendly, and helpful, which made the whole process feel a lot more comfortable. I’d definitely use this service again and recommend it to others without hesitation.

I’m extremely satisfied with the job Elite Roofing did on my home in The Woodlands. From start to finish, the entire process was smooth and completely free of surprises. They were punctual, highly organized, and clearly very experienced. You could tell right away that the crew knew exactly what they were doing—the efficiency and professionalism on display were impressive. The cleanup was absolutely immaculate, which is something homeowners really notice and appreciate after a roofing job. The project was overseen by Austin Thomas, who did an outstanding job. He was professional, communicative, and took the time to clearly explain each step of the process. Overall, everything went off without a hitch and the new roof looks absolutely outstanding. I highly recommend Elite Roofing—they’re truly a top-notch company. Brad Howard The Woodlands, TX.

Steven did a great job repairing my roof. He was on time, hard working ,respectful, and communicated very well with me on what the job was. Their office has friendly and helpful people also. Thank you for taking care of the issue.

We had Will come out and fix a leak we had. Excellent service and very knowledgeable. Also, the team was great to follow up after. Even the “sales guy” that called me was not pushy whatsoever about buying a roof, and was giving me solid advice of what I should do in the near future. So I could tell this company had my best interest at heart.

These guys were fast and efficient! Came in less than the other bids I received and completed the job in 1 day compared to the 2 days I was quoted by other companies. Went above and beyond what was required. Highly recommend

Frequently asked

Does Texas require a state license for roofing contractors?
No. Texas has no state roofing license. Roofers may voluntarily join the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas (RCAT). Elite Roofing appears in the RCAT directory as a Member, which means it belongs to the association. Homeowners should always ask any roofer for current proof of liability insurance.
Is an RCAT Member the same as an RCAT Licensed Roofing Contractor?
No. RCAT Member means the company belongs to the association. The RCAT Licensed Roofing Contractor credential is a separate, voluntarily earned designation that requires passing an exam and meeting insurance requirements. This listing reflects Member status.
Is the Houston office Elite Roofing's headquarters?
Yes. The Houston office at 900 Apollo Street is the company headquarters. The Better Business Bureau profile for the company is based in Houston, and the McKinney, Austin, San Antonio and Bryan offices are branches of the same firm, each with its own local phone number.
What should Houston homeowners do after a hail or wind storm?
Document the damage with photos, get a roof inspection, and contact your insurer promptly. Elite Roofing advertises free roof inspections and specializes in storm and insurance restoration. Be wary of door knockers after storms and verify any contractor's insurance before signing.
Can a roofer pay or waive my insurance deductible in Texas?
No. Since 2019 Texas law makes it illegal for a contractor to pay, waive, absorb or rebate a homeowner's insurance deductible. A contractor offering to do so is breaking the law, and insurers can require proof that you paid your deductible.
Do I need a permit to replace a roof in Houston?
Texas has no statewide building code, so permitting is handled city by city. Requirements in the Houston area vary by jurisdiction, so check with your city's permitting office before work begins. A reputable contractor will know the local rules for your address.
What roofing materials does Elite Roofing install?
For homes the company installs GAF shingle roofing systems and advertises a GAF lifetime roofing system. For commercial buildings it lists TPO, PVC, EPDM, modified bitumen, metal roofing and roof coatings.
What warranties does Elite Roofing offer?
As a GAF Master Elite Contractor the company can offer GAF's enhanced warranties, and its website advertises a lifetime warranty covering GAF materials and labor it installs. Always get the specific warranty terms for your project in writing before signing.
Are Class 4 impact-resistant shingles worth it in the Houston area?
They can be. Class 4 shingles resist hail damage better than standard shingles, and some Texas insurers offer premium discounts for them. Ask your insurance company about discounts and ask the roofer for the exact shingle rating in your quote.
What should I ask a roofer before signing a contract in Texas?
Ask for a certificate of liability insurance sent directly from the insurer, local references, a written scope of work with the exact materials, the warranty terms, and how change orders are handled. Confirm the contract does not offer to cover your deductible, which is illegal in Texas.
