About

Lucid Services is a Houston roofing and restoration contractor operating from a corporate office at 9039 Katy Freeway, Suite 516, in Houston, with a second Dallas-Fort Worth office at 4105 S. Bowen Road, Suite 2, in Arlington. Despite the generic company name, the business is unambiguously a roofing contractor: its own site, its BBB file, its Yelp listing and its listing in the Polyglass contractor directory all classify it under roofing. The BBB record shows the LLC started on 2 April 2020 and trades under the alternate name LUCID Roofing and Construction. The company works across three service lines. Commercial and multifamily work covers roof installations, repairs, inspections and custom preventative maintenance programs on TPO, modified bitumen, metal and coated roof systems. Residential work covers photo-documented inspections, leak and storm damage repair, same-day emergency tarping, full replacements, new roofs on additions, annual maintenance plans, custom metal fabrication, chimney flashing and seamless gutters. Lucid describes handling everything from small residential repairs through multi-million dollar commercial roof projects statewide. Lucid is listed in the Polyglass contractor directory, which is the manufacturer's own directory and therefore independently checkable. The company also states FORTIFIED certification under the IBHS program, a NOAA Weather-Ready Nation Ambassador designation, and membership in RCAT, the NRCA, GHBA, NAHB, TAB, HAA, TCA and BOMA. Those memberships and the FORTIFIED claim are stated by the company and were not separately confirmed on each association's own roster. Homeowners in Harris County should note that Texas has no state roofing licence, so verification rests on insurance certificates, RCAT status and any city permit history.

Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this listing yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

I am so grateful for the outstanding service provided by Lucid. My new metal roof is beautiful, and I was very impressed by it's teams professionalism. The worksite was cleaned daily, and the roofers were polite and respectful throughout the project. Most impressive, however, was their commitment to quality. During a quality control inspection, the team identified that certain components were not installed according to the manufacturer's specifications. Although the roof was not leaking, management made the decision to replace it entirely to ensure it met their high standards. It is refreshing to experience such dedicated, old-school customer service. With this philosophy and management style, I have no doubt Lucid will continue to thrive.

Lucid is a great roofing company. They were able to fight our denied claim through an appraisal process. Once it was approved and received the check from the insurance company, the scheduling and execution of the job was very efficient. The quality of their materials and installation process is really good. Jesus, their Sales Manager remained always on top of things during the whole process, great guy! Overall, great experience.

This company did an A-plus job on my roof replacement! Every issue was addressed and fixed, not just the replacing of the shingles. They pointed out several issues, and gave me the option to fix them, and did not try to push more costs on me. The installers did a perfect job of covering my pool and patio to catch all the debris. They worked all day and only took a 30 minute break....that was over the top. When it came time to clean up, the were very thorough on picking up nails, debris and left my home and yard spotless. My salesperson, Jen, was on top of the entire job, and was here to oversee the crew to make sure they met Lucid Services quality expectations. I highly recommend this company for any residential or commercial roofing needs, including repairs. Ask for Jen, I loved working with her!

Lucid Services did an EXCELLENT job replacing my roof, fixing my dormers and adding gutter guards to my house. The crew was hard working, thorough and professional. The clean up was extensive, but they came back a few times to make sure that all of the roofing supplies were cleaned from my yard and driveway. I highly recommend using Lucid if you need a repair or a replacement! They previously had repaired a few spots on our roof to allow us time to wait until the time was right for a full roof replacement.

Jesus was prompt to come out and quote, fair deal and walked me through the process. 3 days later the gutters were installed in ~2hrs, these guys were fast and professional. When I asked about moving the sprinkler rain sensor, they did it no problem. Would recommend.

Frequently asked

Is Lucid Services actually a roofing contractor, or a general services company?
It is a roofing contractor. The company name is generic, but its own website, its Better Business Bureau file, its Yelp listing and its entry in the Polyglass contractor directory all classify it as a roofing business. It describes itself as a roofing and restoration company covering residential, multifamily and commercial roofs.
Does Texas issue a state roofing licence?
No. Texas has no state roofing licence, so no roofer in Houston can be state licensed for roofing. Verification instead rests on a current certificate of general liability and workers compensation insurance sent directly from the insurer, on voluntary credentials such as RCAT status, and on the permit and inspection record with the City of Houston or the relevant Harris County jurisdiction.
What is the difference between an RCAT Member and an RCAT Licensed Roofing Contractor?
They are separate things. An RCAT Member is a company that has joined the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas and pays dues. The Licensed Roofing Contractor credential, in its CRRL, RRL and CRL forms, is earned separately through RCAT's own testing and continuing education programme. Lucid Services is listed as a Member. Membership is not a government licence and should not be described as one.
How should a Houston homeowner verify a roofer's insurance?
Ask for a certificate of insurance showing both general liability and workers compensation, and ask that it be emailed to you by the insurance agency rather than by the contractor. Confirm the policy dates cover your project window. Without workers compensation cover, an injury on your roof can become your problem.
Is hail a real risk in the Houston area?
Yes, though less frequently than in the North and Central Texas hail belt. Harris County still sees severe thunderstorms with damaging hail and straight line winds. Impact resistant Class 4 shingles are one option for reducing hail damage, and many Texas insurers offer a premium discount for them. Ask your carrier what discount applies before choosing a product.
What are Class 4 impact resistant shingles?
Class 4 is the top rating in the UL 2218 steel ball impact test. A Class 4 shingle resists puncture from hail better than a standard shingle. It is not hail proof, and it does not stop cosmetic bruising, but it is the most common upgrade Texas homeowners make after a hail claim.
What is a FORTIFIED roof?
FORTIFIED is a voluntary construction standard from the Insurance Institute for Business and Home Safety that goes beyond typical code, focusing on sealed roof decks, better fastening and edge detailing to resist wind and water intrusion. Lucid Services states that it is FORTIFIED certified. If that matters to your insurance, ask for the designation paperwork and confirm which FORTIFIED level applies to your roof.
Do I need a permit to replace a roof in Houston?
Texas has no statewide building code for this, so permitting is set city by city and county by county. In the City of Houston a residential reroof generally requires a permit, and requirements differ in Harris County unincorporated areas and in surrounding municipalities. Ask the contractor in writing who pulls the permit and confirm it with your local building department.
What should I ask before signing a roofing contract in Texas?
Ask for the total price rather than a deductible based figure, the shingle or membrane brand and product line, the underlayment, the workmanship warranty length and who backs it, who pulls the permit, the payment schedule, and whether any subcontractors will be used. Under Texas law a contractor must not pay or absorb your insurance deductible, so treat any offer to do so as a red flag.
What roof systems does Lucid Services work with on commercial and multifamily buildings?
Its commercial and multifamily pages name TPO, modified bitumen, metal and roof coatings, alongside asphalt shingles on lower rise multifamily. It also offers inspections and custom preventative maintenance programmes built around the building type and existing system.
