About

Prime Seamless Gutters & Roofing is a veteran-owned, family-run roofing and gutter contractor based at 4603 N Stahl Park in northeast San Antonio, in Bexar County. Founder and CEO Andrew Johnson served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS George Washington and later in the Air National Guard Reserve. Co-owner and CFO Katie Johnson, who holds a business degree from UTSA, joined the company in 2020. The business dates itself to 2006. The gutter side is the specialty the name points to. The company installs seamless gutters in 5 inch, 6 inch and 7 inch K-style plus half-round and box profiles, in painted aluminum, copper and galvalume steel, and handles gutter guards, cleaning and repair. The roofing side covers replacement, repair, inspections and new construction, with 3-tab, dimensional and designer composition shingles, standing seam metal, tile, and solar panel roofing, plus commercial work using TPO, modified bitumen and elastomeric coatings. Owens Corning's own contractor directory lists the company as an Owens Corning Preferred Contractor. The company additionally states GAF Authorized Residential Roofing Installer status and a ShingleMaster Premier credential, and lists membership in the Greater San Antonio Builders Association, the Greater New Braunfels Home Builders Association and the Hill Country Builders Association. It has been BBB accredited since October 2025 with an A+ rating, and appears in the RCAT directory. Coverage runs across roughly 34 communities in San Antonio and the surrounding Hill Country.

Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this listing yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had a great experience with Prime Seamless Gutters & Roofing serving San Antonio and Austin. Billy, who provided our initial consult, was knowledgeable, helpful, and easy to work with. The install team, Sam and Jacob, did an excellent job as well — they worked efficiently, were professional, and clearly took pride in their work. I guess we have a bit of an odd shaped roof on the edges so they had to add spacers and diverters from what I was told and we are happy with how it all turned out. Everything looks really nice and we have no complaints so far. Once we get some good rain, if there are any issues we’ll come back and update this review, but as of now everything looks great. Very happy with the service overall.

Yes, I would recommend and use this company again! Reviewed 8 companies for the metal roof installation and reinstall existing gutters after. They responded quickly, openly, in writing with initial quote and any followup clarifications. Researched materials and warranties on all quotes, they were constant throughout the bid / take off / quality install / finish detail and cleanup. Followed up on any and all questions throughout the process.

Stevie Ray, Cody, and Sam did a great job installing the gutters/rain chain on the rear of my home. They were prompt, polite, accommodating and professional. They even assisted with added requests like hooking up the rain catchment system and downspout extenders. I am very happy with the result. Further Robert, the sales representative, went above and beyond to prep me and the house for the install. He was patient, kind and took the time to answer all my questions and make good choices for this project. I am appreciative of how Prime Seamless Gutters led me through the entire process, was flexible with scheduling, and conducted themselves with integrity and the highest level of professionalism. Expectations exceeded. Thank you!

I had reached out to Prime Seamless Gutters&Roofing for an estimate for gutter installation around my house and kennel building. I liked the estimate, all my questions and concerns were addressed, so I went forward with the installation process. The installation process was timely and smooth. The techs Sam, Cody and Chris worked tidily and consistently and were very polite. They also cleaned up neatly after their work was done, ensuring there were no sharp metal pieces left on the ground that could have been harmful to my dogs. I definitely recommend this company for gutter installation.

Everyone here was amazing. We live in Pleasanton Tx and had a hail storm come through about 5 months ago and since have seen all my neighbors getting new roofs put on so I figured I better see about mine too. We are transplants from NC and have been here about 6 years and hail wasn’t really a thing where we come from so didn’t think much of it during the storm. So I contacted Prime and my salesman Mike along with a few other members of the Prime team Jeremy, Billy and Alfredo all made sure we were extremely well taken care of. Being from NC we weren’t aware of the type of homeowners insurance we really needed so us being naive we just took what the insurance person suggested when we bought our home here. Well that was a mistake for sure lol…definitely do your research in that regard. However even having a less than desirable insurance policy we were able to get what we felt was a good settlement considering the age of our roof. Prime was there every step of the way to make sure we were informed and kept in the know. They showed up for our adjuster meeting and taught us a lot of things we wouldn’t have otherwise known. Make sure you get a replacement cost policy with cosmetic coverage lol. We were able to get a class 3 impact rated shingle with a beautiful light grey almost white color to help reflect the blazing south Texas sun. They also taught us about their solar powered attic fans. Which we of course bought. It looks great and is so much quieter than those ugly turbines that seem to be all over the place here. The guys just finished up installing today and we are happy campers!!! They put up what they called a catch all system that is some kind of really strong netting tarp type thing that keeps debris off your stuff when they were tearing it off. They showed up about 6:45am and worked till complete. Super nice guys very respectful of the property. They made us aware of some rotten wood as they were tearing off the shingles and fixed any damaged areas on the fly and kept right on moving. Highly recommend this company. They are solid all the way through and through. The office ladies the sales team the project manager and the install team all great folks who make you feel like more than just another customer! I have no doubt I will get years and years of great service from our new roof. Now I have to update our exterior to match the new roof lol…thanks Prime Seamless Gutters and Roofing we really appreciate you all and will definitely recommend you to friends and neighbors. (Will update with pics soon it was too dark when writing this)

Frequently asked

Is there a state roofing license in Texas?
No. Texas does not license roofing contractors at state level, so there is no state number to check. What you can check is proof of general liability and workers compensation insurance, RCAT status, manufacturer credentials, BBB record and city registration where it applies. Ask for the certificate of insurance to come straight from the insurer.
What does RCAT Member status mean?
RCAT is the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas. Plain membership means the company belongs to the association and pays dues. It is separate from RCAT's separately earned Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL), which requires testing and documented experience. Prime Seamless appears in the RCAT directory as a member.
What is an Owens Corning Preferred Contractor?
It is a tier in Owens Corning's contractor network. Preferred contractors have met the manufacturer's requirements on licensing where applicable, insurance and standing, and can offer enhanced Owens Corning system warranties. Prime Seamless appears as a Preferred Contractor on Owens Corning's own directory. Preferred sits below Platinum Preferred, the top tier, so check which one any contractor actually holds.
Why does gutter work matter as much as the roof?
Gutters carry the water the roof sheds away from the fascia, siding and foundation. Undersized or badly pitched gutters cause fascia rot, soil erosion and foundation movement, which is a real issue on Central Texas clay soils. Seamless gutters, formed on site in one continuous run, have far fewer joints to leak than sectional gutters.
Which gutter size and material should I choose?
The company offers 5, 6 and 7 inch K-style plus half-round and box profiles in painted aluminum, copper and galvalume steel. Larger sizes handle heavier downpours and steeper or larger roof areas. Painted aluminum is the common cost-effective choice, copper is the premium architectural option, and galvalume steel sits in between on strength and price.
Does hail matter in the San Antonio area?
Yes. Central Texas gets significant hail, and it damages gutters and downspouts as well as roofing. Hail bruising on shingles is often invisible from the ground, so an inspection with photo documentation after a serious storm is worth doing even if there is no leak.
Are Class 4 impact-resistant shingles worth it here?
Class 4 is the top rating in the UL 2218 steel ball impact test and stands up to hail far better than standard shingles. Many Texas insurers offer a premium discount for a Class 4 roof. Ask your insurer what discount applies to your policy before choosing, and get the product name and impact rating written into the contract.
Do I need a permit for a roof replacement in San Antonio?
Texas has no statewide building code enforcement, so permitting is city by city and county by county. The City of San Antonio and the surrounding suburbs each set their own rules, and unincorporated Bexar County is different again. Confirm in writing who pulls and pays for the permit before work starts.
Can a contractor cover my insurance deductible?
No. Texas law prohibits a contractor from paying, waiving, rebating or absorbing a homeowner's insurance deductible. Any offer to do so is a red flag and can carry criminal penalties for the contractor.
What should I get in writing before signing?
The full scope with brand, product line and color, the gutter size, profile and material if gutters are included, who pulls the permit, the manufacturer warranty and the separate workmanship warranty with their durations, the payment schedule, and what happens if damaged decking is uncovered during tear-off.
