Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this licence yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search — search #01-0639 or the company name.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

My roof had weather-related damage for the past 11 years. I had worked with other roofing companies for patch repairs, but when it finally came time for a full replacement, I did my research and chose Rhino Roofers. Jupiter came out and did a thorough inspection and showed me clear photos and video of the damage. He presented options without any pressure to commit. We discussed what would work best for us and scheduled the replacement. They completed the entire roof replacement in just one day, and we couldn’t be happier with the results. The roof looks fantastic, and I no longer worry about leaks or further weather damage. I also appreciate that I can contact Rhino Roofers directly if any issues ever come up. If you’re looking for a roofing company, I highly recommend Rhino Roofers as your first choice!

Rhino Roofers replaced the gutters on my house. Wally and crew were professional, knowledgeable and pleasant to work with. Rhino recently replaced my roof and did an outstanding job. I highly recommend Rhino for your gutter and roofing needs.

**Update** Our roof was completed recently and we are ecstatic with the outcome. The install crew was very quick and efficient, Victor was our project manager and was very professional and answered all questions (we even got a card to one of our neighbors that was blown away with how quick and efficient they were). We also were able to identify a few spots on the roof decking that was leaking and saved us from future costly repairs. I also recommend, if you get a roof, to opt for the attic breeze fan. That thing works great and can feel the difference in our upstairs rooms. Nice color shingles, looks great, and fast install! We’ve only had our initial inspection and quote, but are scheduled to have our roof replaced by Rhino Roofers. Initial impressions: quick to make an appointment, very professional, lots of communication leading up to appointment, showed up on time, our inspector was August and he was very professional and informative during inspection, and they allow you to have real time pictures of the inspection. Overall, super satisfied and honestly looking forward to getting the roof done. Prices are going to be what they are, but a home only has 1 roof, and I want ours to be free of leaks and covered under a warranty. I’ll update the review once the new roof is on, but like I said, looking forward to working with Rhino Roofers.

It took us months to make a final decision on hiring a roofing company, after months of research I'm so glad that we chose Rhino Roofers. I highly recommend Rhino Roofers for roofing and gutter services. I recently had my roof and gutters replaced, and I cannot say enough good things about this team! From the start, Jonathan was incredibly professional and knowledgeable, walking me through the quote in detail without any high-pressure tactics. Once the project began, Victor (Roofing PM) and Wally (Gutter PM) were awesome. They were on-site, ensured the crews worked efficiently, and handled everything with great attention to detail. A special shout-out to Allison and the ladies in the office, especially Allison who was an absolute gem! She was very professional, sweet and customer service friendly, She communicated with me through the whole process, keeping me updated on scheduling and answering all my questions promptly. The job was completed on time, and the cleanup was thorough. Highly recommend this team for quality work and great service! What really sets them apart is their follow-up care, even after the job was finished, Allison reached out to ensure I was completely happy, satisfied and that everything was working properly. It's rare to find such genuine concern for customer satisfaction. 10 stars 🌟 out of 5! One Very Happy Satisfied Customer 🙏

They did a great job repairing our chimney and installing 2 Attic Breeze solar attic fans. Our house is already using less energy and keep the temp comfortable. The rep that did our estimate was great and very thorough. We didn’t even realize how bad the chimney was until he showed us where it was leaking in the attic. They provided several photos throughout the entire process to keep us informed. The photo of the chimney is the repair before being painted. The only reason we are giving a 4 stars is because they left some trash, not much, but some and one of the employees doing the repair spit their gum out and it landed on our porch. Our friend’s 2 year old son found it later that evening.

Frequently asked

Is Rhino Roofers licensed by the State of Texas?
Texas has no state roofing license, so no roofer in Texas is state licensed. Rhino Roofers is listed with the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas (RCAT) as a Licensed Roofing Contractor, a voluntary credential earned through testing and insurance requirements. Always ask any contractor for current proof of liability insurance before work begins.
What areas does Rhino Roofers serve?
The company runs its main office at 4949 N Loop 1604 W Ste 250 in San Antonio and a second office at 1311 Chisholm Trail Rd in Round Rock. It serves San Antonio, Austin, Round Rock, San Marcos and surrounding Central Texas communities.
Does Rhino Roofers handle commercial as well as residential roofs?
Yes. The company advertises residential services across San Antonio, Austin and Central Texas plus commercial roofing, including flat roof systems such as TPO, PVC, modified bitumen and spray foam.
What roofing materials does Rhino Roofers install?
Its site lists asphalt shingles, metal roofing (standing seam, corrugated, steel, aluminum and copper), stone coated metal from DECRA and Tilcor, tile, and several flat roofing systems. The company received a 2024 DECRA Project of the Year award for stone coated metal work.
Is Rhino Roofers manufacturer certified?
Rhino Roofers has a profile in Owens Corning's own contractor directory and identifies itself as an Owens Corning Platinum Preferred Contractor, the top tier of that network. Manufacturer credentials matter because they unlock stronger material and workmanship warranty options for homeowners.
Does hail really matter for San Antonio roofs?
Yes. Central Texas sits in the hail prone part of the state, and hail is the most common cause of roof insurance claims here. Impact resistant Class 4 shingles hold up better in hail and may qualify for a discount on your homeowners insurance premium, so ask your roofer and your insurer about them.
Will my reroof need a permit?
Texas has no statewide permitting office, so permitting is handled city by city. Requirements differ between San Antonio, its suburbs and unincorporated Bexar County, so confirm with your contractor which permits and inspections apply to your address before work starts.
How do storm damage insurance claims work in Texas?
Document the damage, report the claim to your insurer promptly, and get an independent roof inspection before agreeing to a scope of repairs. In Texas it is illegal for a contractor to waive or absorb your insurance deductible, so treat any such offer as a red flag.
What should I ask before signing a roofing contract?
Ask for a certificate of insurance sent directly from the roofer's agent, the company's RCAT status, a written scope with specific products and prices, warranty terms in writing, and local references you can call.
What do Rhino Roofers' ratings look like across the web?
The company holds an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau, has been BBB accredited since October 2021, and advertises more than 1,300 five star reviews. It maintains profiles on Yelp, HomeAdvisor, Facebook and Instagram. This directory reports those profiles; it does not endorse any company.
