About
Premiere Roofing was founded in 1995 in Bedford, Texas and has grown into a commercial and residential roofing contractor covering the North Texas region, including the DFW metroplex and Texoma, plus the Oklahoma City area and southern Oklahoma. Its Sherman office at 6320 Texoma Parkway is the Grayson County base, with additional offices in Frisco, Texas and Edmond, Oklahoma.
The company works across both low-slope and steep-slope systems. Its published service list covers single-ply membranes (EPDM, PVC and TPO), metal (R panel, standing seam, wall panels and soffit) and asphaltic systems (built-up, modified bitumen and shingles), for repairs, replacements, new construction and roof coatings. Manufacturer partners named on its own About page include GAF, Johns Manville, Carlisle, Firestone, Sika Sarnafil, Berridge, PacClad, MBCI, Centria and DerBigum.
The RCAT directory lists Premiere Roofing as a member since 2016, with John Morgan as primary contact. The company has been BBB accredited since 2001 and carries an A+ BBB rating. GAF's own commercial contractor locator lists the Sherman office as a GAF commercial contractor certified for asphaltic and single-ply work. Premiere Roofing also states membership in the NRCA and status as a certified TIPS purchasing vendor.

Insurance & credential verification
Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

City/county registration
Not checked for ShermanTexas has no state roofing licence, and city rules differ: some require contractor registration, some run a voluntary registry, some neither. Ask this company and your local permit office.
Status Current in the RCAT directory (no published licence number for this record)
RCAT member ID763 (member since 2016)
Licence boardRCAT, Roofing Contractors Association of Texas (Texas issues no state roofing licence; RCAT runs the licensing programme)
Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

We are incredibly grateful to Premier Roofing for helping us work with our insurance. They were essential in getting the insurance to cover our damaged roof . We had multiple other roofers come out but nobody was able to help us until premier stepped up to the plate . Justin and Lucas were always available to answer all our questions and without their help we know we wouldn't be here today . Our roof is beautiful, their contractors were responsible, cleaned up after themselves and did a wonderful job! Thankyou Premier

I watched every house in my former neighborhood get a roof & NONE of the crews were as “put together” as this one! Our roof looks great and it really was a pleasant experience.

Our experience with Premiere Roofing to get a new roof on my mom's house was amazing! Justin Crump was our project manager, and he was great at communicating with us and keeping us informed of where things were in the process. Our situation was a bit more challenging since the property being re-roofed wasn't where I live, but Justin was accommodating and quick to respond to any and all questions along the way. We also had all the fascia around the house replaced, some sections of soffit, and all new paint. This was all handled by Justin to get the additional work done, even though that wasn't part of our insurance scope. He gave us precise numbers so we would know what our costs would be. I would highly recommend this company for your roofing needs! You won't be disappointed!

We just bought a new (to us) house and needed to get a roof done, I went to Google and found Premiere roofing! We had an amazing experience with Ackman, he came out to discuss our options and he got it done a couple of days later with his crew and they did it all in about 7 hours! I was so impressed and the roof looks GREAT! Ackman is definitely the guy you want! They were able to patch up a spot and add vents to the roof over the bathrooms as well. Cannot recommended him enough!

Frequently asked
Does Texas require a state roofing license?
No. Texas has no state roofing license, so there is no state license number to look up. Trust in Texas rests on proof of general liability and workers compensation insurance, RCAT status, city or county registration where it applies, and a documented track record. Ask for a certificate of insurance sent to you directly by the insurer, not a copy forwarded by the salesperson.
What does it mean that Premiere Roofing is an RCAT Member?
RCAT is the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas. Plain membership means the company belongs to the association and pays dues. That is separate from RCAT's separately earned Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL), which requires testing and documented experience. The RCAT directory lists Premiere Roofing as a member since 2016. Membership is a positive signal, not a government license.
Do I need a permit to replace a roof in Sherman or Grayson County?
Texas has no single statewide building code enforcement, so permitting and inspection are handled city by city and county by county. Check with the City of Sherman building department, or the relevant county office if the property is outside city limits, and get it in writing who pulls and pays for the permit.
Is hail a serious risk in Grayson County?
Yes. North Texas sits in the region commonly called Hail Alley, and hail is the most frequent cause of sudden roof damage there. Hail bruising often is not visible from the ground, so a post-storm inspection with photo documentation is worth doing even when the roof looks fine from the driveway.
What are Class 4 impact-resistant shingles and are they worth the money?
Class 4 is the top rating in the UL 2218 steel ball impact test. Class 4 shingles resist hail bruising better than standard shingles, and many Texas insurers offer a premium discount for them. Ask your insurer what discount actually applies to your policy before you decide, and get the product name and impact rating written into the contract.
What is the difference between residential and commercial roofing?
Residential roofs are usually steep slope, using shingles or metal. Commercial buildings are usually low slope, using membranes such as TPO, PVC or EPDM, or asphaltic systems such as modified bitumen and built-up, or standing seam metal. Crews, detailing and warranty structures differ, so confirm a contractor genuinely works in the system your building needs.
Can a roofer pay or waive my insurance deductible?
No. Texas law prohibits a contractor from paying, waiving, rebating or absorbing a homeowner's insurance deductible. An offer to do so is a serious red flag and can carry criminal penalties for the contractor.
What should I ask before signing a roofing contract in Texas?
Ask for a certificate of insurance sent by the insurer, the full written scope with brand, product line and color, who pulls the permit, the length of the workmanship warranty and who stands behind it, the payment schedule, and the cancellation terms. Verbal promises are worth nothing once the crew leaves.
Does Premiere Roofing work outside Texas?
Yes. Alongside its Texas coverage the company lists an Edmond, Oklahoma office and service across the Oklahoma City area and southern Oklahoma. For Texas property owners the relevant offices are Sherman and Frisco.
How do I check a Texas roofer's reputation properly?
Use more than one source. Read the BBB profile for accreditation status and complaint history, read recent Google reviews rather than only the headline score, and search the RCAT directory to confirm association status. Then ask for local references on the same roofing system you are buying.
