Insurance & credential verification
Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

City/county registration
Voluntary registry in HoustonRoofer Registration Program. Joining is optional here, so not being listed is not a mark against a company.
Status Current in the RCAT directory (no published licence number for this record)
RCAT member ID1505 (member since 2024)
Licence boardRCAT, Roofing Contractors Association of Texas (Texas issues no state roofing licence; RCAT runs the licensing programme)
Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

Jeremy and his team did an excellent job and were very professional. I would highly recommend them in an area of the construction world( roofing) where you can salesman that promise a lot but the follow through is not what was promised. I know because I’ve replaced many roofs in the real estate business and have had shoddy work done before and you only find out after problems occur and getting the contractor back out to remedy the
situation can be problematic…

Beyond satisfied! After reaching out to Paradox, Jeremy came to assess the roof for a suspected leak. This was the third roof estimate I’d received, and it was by far the most thorough. He walked the entire roof and chalked up every problem area he found. The quote came back quite affordable, and we moved forward.
He brought in a great subcontractor to finish the underside of our patio roof, too. And Jeremy oversaw everything to ensure a quality job was done. He went above and beyond for his project, and I can tell it’s because he cares and takes pride in his work.
I highly recommend Paradox for your next roofing project! I know they’ll be my next call when I need something.

I highly recommend Paradox Roofing! Joel speedily helped me get a roof replacement after I had some problems with insurance. Everything was dealt with quickly and professionally. Once the insurance mess was out of the way, I had a new roof within a week. Everything was cleaned up nicely--you would never know they were there. Jeremy inspected the roof the next day and I feel very confident about my new roof! Thank you!

Paradox did an amazing job on getting the roof done on our house. David G did my inspection and guided me through the process. I initially was denied by my insurance but their team of attorneys got us squared away. The whole process was smooth and effortless on my end. Guys showed up got the roof done cleaned up and left. David made everything stress free for me and the roof looks great and is now a stress free item for us. Thanks Paradox Roofing and Construction. Highly recommend to get your roof replaced or repaired!!!

Frequently asked
Does Texas issue roofing licences?
No. Texas has no state roofing licence, which means anyone can advertise as a roofer here. Verify a contractor by confirming active general liability and workers compensation insurance directly with the agent on the certificate, reviewing its Better Business Bureau record, checking its standing with the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas, and confirming any City of Houston or Harris County registration your project requires.
What is the difference between an RCAT Member and an RCAT Licensed Roofing Contractor?
The Roofing Contractors Association of Texas keeps these separate on purpose. Membership means a company pays dues and belongs to the association. The Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned by an individual through testing and continuing education. A company can be a member without holding the credential, so ask which one applies and to whom.
How do I confirm a Houston roofer is insured?
Ask for a certificate of insurance, then phone the insurance agent named on it and confirm the general liability and workers compensation policies are active for your project dates. If a roofer carries no workers compensation, an injury on your roof can become your problem. Given there is no state licence in Texas, this call is the most valuable ten minutes you will spend.
Does hail matter in the Houston area?
Less than in North Texas, but yes. Harris County and the surrounding counties see damaging hail and severe thunderstorm wind, and wind driven rain is a bigger recurring threat here than in the Dallas area. Impact-resistant (Class 4) shingles can still earn a homeowners insurance premium discount in Texas, so it is worth asking your carrier what it offers before choosing a shingle.
What does FORTIFIED certification mean?
FORTIFIED is a construction standard from the Insurance Institute for Business and Home Safety that sets stricter requirements for sealed roof decks, better fastening and edge detailing than a standard reroof. A FORTIFIED Roof designation requires an independent evaluator to verify the work. Paradox states it is FORTIFIED certified. If you want the designation itself, confirm up front that an approved evaluator will inspect and issue it.
How does the company's roofing process work?
Paradox describes three steps: an inspection of the existing roof, selection of the system and materials, and installation, and it says most residential projects finish in a single day. It also offers maintenance plans and 24 hour emergency repair. Ask what the inspection report actually includes and whether you receive photos and a written scope before you are asked to commit.
Do I need a permit to replace a roof in Houston?
Texas has no statewide building code, so permitting is handled locally. The City of Houston, Harris County for unincorporated areas, and separate municipalities such as Katy, Sugar Land, Pasadena and Conroe each set their own reroof permit and inspection rules. Your contractor should pull the permit in its own name. Ask for the permit number before work begins.
Can a contractor cover my insurance deductible?
No. Texas law makes it illegal for a contractor to pay, waive, absorb, rebate or credit an insurance deductible on a property claim, and it is illegal for a homeowner to accept the arrangement. An offer to do so is a clear warning sign about the company's business practices, whatever else its reviews say.
What should be in the contract before I sign?
Get the scope in writing: tear off versus overlay, the per sheet price for replacing rotten decking, underlayment, ventilation, flashing and drip edge, gutter work if included, and cleanup. Add the exact product line and colour, the manufacturer warranty and the separate workmanship warranty in writing, proof of insurance, the permit plan, and the payment schedule. Never pay in full up front.
Is Paradox Roofing & Construction related to Paradigm Roofing?
No. Despite the similar sounding names they are separate companies in different metros. Paradox Roofing & Construction operates from 11311 Jones Rd W in northwest Houston, in Harris County, with the domain paradoxroofing.com. Paradigm Roofing is a McKinney company in Collin County with a different domain, address and phone number. Check the address and phone on any quote you receive.
