About

Heart Roofing is a small husband-and-wife roofing company in the Westbury area of southwest Houston, operating from 5322 W Bellfort Ave, Suite 208. The company was born from the aftermath of Hurricane Beryl in 2024, after the owners watched neighbors struggle with roof damage and insurance claims; the RCAT directory record shows the business established in April 2024. Juan Alvarez brings seven years of hands-on roofing experience and is personally on every job site, hand-measuring each roof and verifying details, while Evelin Alvarez, a University of Houston graduate and lifelong Houstonian, runs the business side. The company describes its approach as quality over quantity, taking one roof at a time and following Houston building codes. Heart Roofing focuses on residential work in Houston and nearby Bellaire: roof repair, roof installation and upgrades, shingle repair and replacement, leak repair, flashing repair, roof decking, and soffit and fascia work. The company appears in GAF's residential contractor directory as a certified contractor.

Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this licence yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search — search #01-0730 or the company name.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

Heart Roofing, led by the incredible Juan Alvarez, saved the day! I had a massive hole and a lot of rotted wood, and Juan and his team fixed my entire roof in just one day. Juan was incredibly knowledgeable about shingles and even helped me with the permit required by the HOA, making the whole process unbelievably easy. The team was fantastic. I truly enjoyed my experience with Heart Roofing and wouldn't hesitate to do business with them again. Juan really does have a great heart!

Juan and the Heart Roofing team did a great job on our roof replacement. Zero issues and it looks great. Communication was excellent and they walked us through the whole process. Highly recommend!

Great work, very satisfied. Provided an easy written understandable quote. Old shingled roof removed and replaced in a day just as promised. Hauled off the debris. Good communication throughout, good selection of shingle type and color. Started and ended promptly with professional roofing crew. Left the surrounding area in the yard cleaner than they found it. I highly recommend Heart Roofing. Provided before and after photos. Professional with integrity all the way. With new roof documentation provided by Juan, My property insurance premium dropped 29%.

We just bought our first house and needed some roof repairs. Juan was super easy to talk to and walked us through everything. He gave us a fair price and didn’t try to push extra stuff we didn’t need. The roof looks amazing now and we feel so much better knowing it was done right. Thanks again, Juan!

Juan made everything so easy! With two kids at home, I don’t have time to deal with contractors who don’t communicate. But he kept me updated the whole time, sent photos, and worked around our schedule. Super nice guy and really goes the extra mile. The roof looks great too!

Frequently asked

Is Heart Roofing licensed by the State of Texas?
Texas has no state roofing license, so no roofer in Texas is state-licensed. Heart Roofing is listed in the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas directory with a Houston address matching its website, and it appears in GAF's residential contractor directory. Ask for current proof of insurance before any work begins.
What is the difference between an RCAT member and an RCAT Licensed Roofing Contractor?
RCAT membership means the company has joined the association. The RCAT Licensed Roofing Contractor credential is separate and requires passing an exam plus insurance verification. Heart Roofing is carried here as an RCAT member; you can confirm current status in the RCAT directory at rcat.net.
How new is Heart Roofing?
It is a young company. The RCAT record shows it established in April 2024, and the owners say the business was born from the aftermath of Hurricane Beryl, which hit Houston in July 2024. Owner Juan Alvarez brings seven years of hands-on roofing experience from before the company was formed.
Does Heart Roofing handle storm and hurricane damage?
Storm recovery is central to the company's story: it was founded after Hurricane Beryl to help homeowners dealing with damaged roofs and difficult insurance claims. Its services include roof repair, shingle replacement, leak repair, and flashing repair, the typical wind and storm damage work.
Does my Houston home need windstorm certification like coastal properties?
Houston and most of Harris County are inland of the 14 first-tier Gulf Coast counties where TWIA windstorm coverage and WPI-8 inspections apply, so most Houston homeowners rely on standard homeowners insurance for wind damage. Check with your insurer if you are near the coastal boundary.
Do I need a permit to replace a roof in Houston?
Texas permitting is city by city. The City of Houston has its own permitting rules for roofing work, and Heart Roofing states that it follows Houston building codes. Confirm with Houston Permitting Center or your municipality, and agree in writing on who handles any required permit.
Is Heart Roofing GAF certified?
Heart Roofing LLC appears in GAF's own residential contractor directory for Houston, which lists factory-certified contractors. The specific certification tier could not be confirmed from the directory page, so ask the company directly if a particular GAF warranty program matters to you.
What should I ask a newer roofing company before signing?
The same things you would ask anyone, applied a bit more carefully: current certificate of insurance, references from completed local jobs, a written scope and price, warranty terms in writing, and who pulls any permit. Texas also makes it illegal for a contractor to offer to waive your insurance deductible.
What areas does Heart Roofing serve?
The company is based in the Westbury neighborhood of southwest Houston and serves surrounding areas, with a dedicated service page for Bellaire. Its address is 5322 W Bellfort Ave, Suite 208, Houston, TX 77035.
How do I reach Heart Roofing?
The office line is (713) 485-4729, which matches the number on its RCAT directory record, and the company also lists a mobile line, 832-226-8145, on its website, heart-roofing.com.
