About

Mammoth Contracting trades publicly as Mammoth Roofing & Solar and runs its headquarters from 26669 IH 10 West, Suite 1, with a Boerne postal address on the Interstate 10 corridor near Fair Oaks Ranch. The Better Business Bureau lists the business as starting in January 2017 and Scott P. Edwards as managing member, and the company's own site names Scott Edwards as founder. It has grown into a multi office operation with additional locations in Round Rock, Belton, Horseshoe Bay and Frisco, and it publishes separate numbers for San Antonio, Austin, Kerrville, Marble Falls and Temple. The service range spans residential roof repair, replacement and inspection, commercial roofing, rubber and urethane roof coatings, gutter installation, repair and cleaning, siding, solar panel installation, and storm and hail damage restoration. Materials include asphalt shingles, metal in aluminium, copper, corrugated, standing seam and steel, tile, and commercial systems in PVC, TPO, spray foam and modified bitumen. The company advertises a complimentary 37 point roof inspection and 50 year material with lifetime labour warranty language on its roofing systems. On verification, the Better Business Bureau shows Mammoth Contracting as accredited since March 2018 with an A+ rating. The company also states a CertainTeed SELECT ShingleMaster credential and Tile Roofing Industry Alliance certification, but neither could be confirmed on the manufacturer's or the alliance's own directory during this research, so both are recorded here as stated by the company. Texas does not issue a state roofing licence, a point the company itself makes on its site, so the trust basis is RCAT status, BBB accreditation and current insurance confirmed directly with the insurer.

Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this licence yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search — search #03-0528 or the company name.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

After filing our insurance claim we found Mammoth Roofing through Terrell. We met with Scott and he was straight to the point and he explained the difference between the quality of materials that they use. They did a great job working with the insurance company, they were quick and on top of it. Tim came out before the project started and answered all my questions and concerns and put some shingles on the roof so I could compare colors. We were really impressed that they were able to get started within a week and they finished in 1 day because they have a big crew. My roof no longer sounds like it’s about to blow off when it’s windy. I can’t barely even hear the wind now, where as before it was so loud. I also notice it’s not as hot as it was this time last year in our room. The shingles they use are way better than what we previously had and they look much better too. They gave us the best value for this project and we love the roof.

I had my roof recently replaced by mammoth, they did a great job. However I did have a concern about my siding after the roof replacement and Tim came out to check everything out and fixed my concerns. He went above and beyond. Every experience I’ve had with mammoth roofing has been positive. I’m happy we used them for our roof replacement.

Very pleased with our service! We bought a house with solar panels that apparently were not working properly. We called the company that installed the panels, multiple times, they never returned our calls. We called several other companies, same result. FINALLY we found Johnny Macias at Mammoth Roofing. He has been so helpful and knowledgeable, we are so grateful for his time effort. Highly recommend.

My husband and I had solar panels installed on our roof in 2020 by Nerd Power. They did a horrible job, and they left several holes in our roof. They told us that they were going to fix it and make it right, but they never did, and we're still dealing with the holes and leaks. We have had to work with several different roofers since then, and have paid so much money, even though we still have problems. With the rain last week, the roof started leaking again. I called Mammoth Roofing for an estimate. Tim Brady and Johnny Macias came out, and I can't say enough good things about them. They explained to us the extent of the damage, and they offered us two options. They said that they could do a quicker fix for $200 that would patch up the holes for 2 years, or they could do a much more intensive fix that would solve the problem for $10,000. My husband and I are retired senior citizens, and we don't have a lot of money. We can't afford the $10,000 plan right now, so we opted for the smaller option. Of all the roofers we've worked with and talked to in the last 6 years, they were the most honest, friendly, and professional. It rained again today, and no leaks! Thank you, Mammoth Roofing! We plan to call you in the future when we figure out how to pay for the bigger fix.

Tim stopped by and performed a thorough roof inspection at no charge. He confirmed our roof is in great condition, which gives us peace of mind after living in this house for 6 plus years.

Frequently asked

Is Mammoth Contracting licensed by the State of Texas?
No. Texas does not issue a state roofing licence, and the company says as much on its own site. Our record lists it as an RCAT Member. Membership means the company belongs to the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas, and it is not the same as a government licence.
What is the difference between an RCAT Member and an RCAT Licensed Roofing Contractor?
An RCAT Member pays association dues. The RCAT Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned separately by a named individual through testing and continuing education. The company's marketing refers to being licensed through RCAT, so it is worth asking which specific credential is held and by whom.
Does the company hold manufacturer certifications?
It states a CertainTeed SELECT ShingleMaster credential and Tile Roofing Industry Alliance certification. Neither could be confirmed on the manufacturer's or the alliance's own public directory during this research, so treat both as claims made by the company and ask to see the current certificate.
Is it BBB accredited?
Yes. The Better Business Bureau lists Mammoth Contracting as accredited since 9 March 2018 with an A+ rating, and gives a business start date of 8 January 2017.
Where is the company based and which county is that?
Its headquarters is at 26669 IH 10 West, Suite 1, with a Boerne postal address. Although Boerne itself sits in Kendall County, this stretch of the Interstate 10 corridor near Fair Oaks Ranch falls on the Bexar County side of the county line, which is why the record shows Bexar.
What areas does it serve?
It publishes offices and phone numbers for San Antonio and Boerne, Austin and Round Rock, Kerrville, Marble Falls and Horseshoe Bay, Belton and Temple, and the Allen and Frisco area, and lists service coverage including Fair Oaks Ranch, Alamo Heights, Leon Valley, Killeen and Waco.
Does it do more than roofing?
Yes. Alongside roofing it offers siding, gutter installation, repair and cleaning, roof coatings, and solar panel installation. On the commercial side it works in TPO, PVC, spray foam and modified bitumen.
What should I make of the 50 year warranty claim?
The site advertises 50 year material and lifetime labour warranty coverage. Ask which part is manufacturer backed and which is backed only by the contractor, whether the manufacturer warranty is registered in your name, and whether it is transferable if you sell. A contractor backed labour warranty is only as durable as the contractor.
Is hail a real risk in the Boerne and San Antonio area?
Yes. Central and South Central Texas take regular spring hail, and this part of the Hill Country has produced significant hail events. Class 4 impact resistant shingles carry the top rating in the UL 2218 steel ball test and many Texas insurers offer a premium discount for them. Confirm the discount with your carrier before choosing.
What should a homeowner ask before signing?
Texas has no statewide residential building code administration, so permitting rules differ between Boerne, Fair Oaks Ranch and unincorporated Bexar or Kendall County addresses. Ask who pulls the permit, get the full scope in writing, ask the insurer to send you the certificate of insurance directly, and get any certification claim backed by a current certificate.
