Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this listing yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

Working with A5 and Garrett on our new roof has been great. We felt very comfortable with him and never felt like we were being pressured into quick decisions. His down to earth personality made A5 the obvious pick over the other companies that came out to meet with us. Bonus was that they had a great crew come out and our new roof was on in a day. It looks incredible!!

They did an excellent job from start to finish. Communication was clear, they showed up on time, and the repairs were done quickly and professionally. The quality of the work speaks for itself, and everything was cleaned up afterward. I’d absolutely use them again and recommend them to anyone needing roofing work.

I have not used A5 Roofing personally, but I want to speak to their character and values. This is a company that openly stands for conservative and family values and backs that up with action, not just words. They support their community, show respect for people, and operate with integrity. I appreciate businesses that take a clear stand for what they believe and treat others well while doing it. Based on that alone, I would gladly recommend A5 Roofing and would consider them first when I need roofing work in the future.

There are no words that can describe how satisfied with the work, quality, professionalism and simple human kindness of A5 Roofing. I called Garrett (the senior project manager) after a bad hail storm because he is local to our area and I felt someone with a local reputation to uphold was the best bet when you are new to an area and don’t know many people. What I didn’t expect was how much he went out of his way to help us and make this very painful process as easy as he could for us. Long story short, the last roofer from the last hail storm didn’t do his job correctly and failed to remove 3-4 layers of underlayment to properly inspect our decking. If he had, he’d have seen that it was 50 years old, rotted, water damaged and unnail-able. We watched as several guys (the owner David included) almost fell thru our roof. There’s a lot more to it, but I’ll leave it at that. Not only was Garrett up front with us about all the issues they were finding, what the proper fixes were and what they would cost, but he brainstormed with David to find the best solutions to all our problems. We cannot thank them enough for everything they did. We have been renovating our fixer upper for 3 years now and they are by far the most professional contractors we have ever worked with. They show up on time (rare), clean up any messes made, could confidently answer any questions and explain in layman’s terms what exactly they were doing and why. They genuinely care about doing a good job and helping people and that is very rare in today’s world. I also noticed that they treat their crew like family. As small of a thing as that may seem, it shows a lot about who they are as a company and as people. I will never hesitate to call A5 again and I recommend them to everyone I know. We weren’t expecting to run into all the issues we did, but I’m glad we had A5 looking out for us this time. Our new roof is absolutely beautiful, but even better, it’s safe! Now I need to clean up the rest of the outside so it matches our awesome roof. 😂 No need to google roofer reviews any further folks…these are your guys! I promise!
