About

Kennedy Roofing is a Fort Worth roofing contractor operating from 3044 SE Loop 820 and serving the wider Dallas Fort Worth metroplex. The company's own site says it has served DFW since 2010, and its BBB file lists Timothy Hopp as owner. Its team describes a combined 48 years of roofing experience across residential, commercial and multi-family work. The work mix covers roof replacement, roof repair, storm damage repair and multi-family roofing. Published service areas run across Tarrant, Dallas, Denton, Collin, Ellis, Johnson, Palo Pinto and Parker counties, with Arlington, Cedar Hill, Dallas, Farmers Branch, Flower Mound, Garland, Irving, Mansfield and Southlake called out by name. The company is a BBB Accredited Business with an A+ rating, accredited since March 2010. RCAT lists it as a Member. Tarrant County sits inside the North Texas hail belt, so storm damage and insurance claim work are a routine part of roofing here, and homeowners often weigh impact resistant Class 4 shingles at replacement time.

Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this listing yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

During the heavy rain we had a few days ago we discovered a leak in my mom's roof. I contacted AJ the next morning and he had someone out the very next business day. Thanks for being so quick to respond and to fix our issue!

They were incredible took care of everything. They said they would all the workers careful with the yard in the house. They did a superb job on the roof the gutters all the caps on the roof and the skylight covers. Poor guy doing the skylight covers. It started pouring running while he was doing it and he waited in his truck till the rain stopped and then got the other two of the three finished he was amazing. Desiree has been great. Every question I’ve had she’s gotten me answers in here with the guys making sure things were good. It was a wonderful experience could not have asked 4 Better. I highly recommended.

Excellent communication, fair price and got it done quickly with very little disruption. Kevin was a pleasure to work with and everything was done with such professionalism. I love my new roof and they left my yard, driveway and patio in tip top shape. Excellent company.

I was grateful to have Josh come and meet with my adjuster. After the past several hail storms I had an adjuster come out and they always told me my roof was fine. If I had know how important it was to had a roofer represent you, I would have had a professional here the first time. Once the replacement was scheduled all went smoothly. Everyone I encountered was very professional. They got the whole roof done in just under one day and they cleaned up every bit of the debris. I would highly recommend Kennedy Roofing to anyone. I am also glad I chose this light color to reflect the Texas heat. I like the look a lot!

Frequently asked

Does Texas license roofing contractors?
No. Texas has no state roofing license, so no roofer in Fort Worth is licensed by the state. Judge a contractor on proof of general liability and workers compensation insurance, RCAT standing, BBB record, and any city or county registration that applies.
What is Kennedy Roofing's RCAT status?
RCAT lists the company as a Member. Membership means the company belongs to the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas and pays dues. It is not the same as RCAT's separately earned Licensed Roofing Contractor credential, and the two should never be treated as interchangeable.
How long has the company been roofing?
The company's own website says it has served the DFW area since 2010. Its BBB file records a business start date of January 2009 and BBB accreditation from March 2010. The team describes a combined 48 years of roofing experience.
Which cities does Kennedy Roofing cover?
The company's service area page names Fort Worth, Arlington, Cedar Hill, Dallas, Farmers Branch, Flower Mound, Garland, Irving, Mansfield and Southlake, and lists Tarrant, Dallas, Denton, Collin, Ellis, Johnson, Parker and Palo Pinto counties.
Does it work on apartments and commercial buildings?
Yes. The company lists commercial roofing and multi-family roofing alongside its residential work, plus roof repair, roof replacement and storm damage repair.
Why does hail matter so much in Tarrant County?
North and Central Texas sit in what insurers informally call hail alley. Hail is the single biggest driver of roof replacement here, which is why storm damage repair and insurance claim work make up so much of a Fort Worth roofer's calendar.
Are impact resistant Class 4 shingles worth it here?
For many Fort Worth homeowners they are worth pricing. Class 4 shingles are rated to resist impact under the UL 2218 steel ball test, and a number of Texas insurers offer a premium discount for them. Ask your carrier what discount it allows before you choose, and get the product's rating in writing.
Do I need a permit to replace a roof in Fort Worth?
Texas has no statewide building code office running roof permits, so requirements are set city by city and county by county. Ask your roofer to confirm what your specific jurisdiction requires and who is pulling the permit before work starts.
Is Kennedy Roofing BBB accredited?
Yes. It is a BBB Accredited Business with an A+ rating, accredited since 26 March 2010, listed at its Fort Worth address.
What should I confirm before signing a roofing contract in Texas?
Ask for current certificates of general liability and workers compensation insurance sent directly by the insurer, a written scope naming the shingle line and underlayment, decking and ventilation allowances, the workmanship warranty length in writing, lien waivers on payment, and a payment schedule that never requires the full amount up front.
