About
JA Construction Services works from 6703 Levelland Road, Suite D, Dallas, TX 75252, in the Far North Dallas area that falls inside Collin County rather than Dallas County. Its own site states the company has provided building services since 1985, and it has been a supplier member of the Apartment Association of Greater Dallas since 1998. GAF's own contractor directory lists it as a certified contractor in Dallas and describes it as a full service roofing contractor specialising in multifamily and commercial projects.
The work is weighted toward apartment communities and commercial property rather than single family retail roofing. The company lists apartment rehabilitation and turnkey renovations, exterior renovation packages covering roofing, concrete restoration and amenity improvements, interior renovation of units, leasing offices and commercial interiors, commercial build outs, ground up construction, and fire and water damage restoration. On roofing specifically, the GAF listing states it performs replacement of shingle, TPO and metal roofs.
Because the client base is largely property managers and owners with multi site portfolios, the buying process here looks different from a homeowner reroof. Texas has no state roofing licence, so the checks that matter are certificates of insurance with adequate limits, the manufacturer certification confirmed on the manufacturer's own site, and clear scope and schedule terms for occupied buildings.

Insurance & credential verification
Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

City/county registration
Required in Dallas Check the registry ↗Contractor Certificate of Registration (Dallas City Code Chapter 52). Registration is required here to pull a roofing permit; we have not confirmed this company's own status, so check it before you sign.

RCAT member ID603 (member since 2016)
Licence boardRCAT, Roofing Contractors Association of Texas (Texas issues no state roofing licence; RCAT runs the licensing programme)
Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

My house was hit by a tornado in March. I called many different roofing co. Some were no shows, others were crazy stupid in price.
I also called JA. They came out, gave me a fair price. I accepted the bid price and they hopped right on it.
The roof was damaged for the tornado ripped off shingle, and felt, down to bare wood. New decking was needed. They replaced the decking like pros!
Many homes in my area you can see the roof wave due to age and foundation. Where the rafters are lower with age.
MY ROOF!!!! Straight as straight can be! My ridge has a great straight edge! The shingles are straight lines across! The valleys are CUT STRAIGHT!
The guys working are EPIC!
Pictures do not lie! Check out the straight ridges. Sweet job!
Call JA... Ya won't regret it!

We hired JA Construction Services to do some renovations to our home. They replaced our roof, removed a skylight, installed new trim, soffit, fascia and painted the exterior. We are very happy with the workmanship. The customer service was great! The crew was professional and left everything clean after each day. We will definitely call on them for future work needed to our home. Thank you J A Construction Services.

I recently hired JA Construction Services to be the general contractors of our apartment rehab. The project was completed on time, on budget, and with the highest possible quality of professionalism. I would recommend them to any management company or apartment complex looking to remodel their property.

Frequently asked
Which county is JA Construction Services actually in?
Its address, 6703 Levelland Road, Suite D, Dallas, TX 75252, is a City of Dallas address that sits in Collin County, not Dallas County. Far North Dallas extends across the county line, and this stretch is inside Collin Central Appraisal District and Plano ISD. The mailing city and the county genuinely differ.
Does the company do single family residential roofs?
Its focus is multifamily and commercial. GAF's directory describes it as a full service roofing contractor specialising in multifamily and commercial projects, and its own site leads with apartment rehabilitation and commercial renovation. It does list residential renovation as a service, but this is not primarily a retail storm chaser operation.
Is there a state roofing licence in Texas?
No. Texas issues no state roofing licence. For a commercial or multifamily owner, the checks that matter are certificates of insurance with limits suited to the property value, workers compensation coverage, manufacturer certification verified on the manufacturer's own website, and references from comparable projects.
What does RCAT membership mean for a commercial roofer?
RCAT is the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas, a trade association whose membership is paid. It is separate from RCAT's earned Licensed Roofing Contractor credential, which carries RRL, CRRL or CRL letters after an individual's name. Membership and the licence credential are not interchangeable, so ask which applies.
What roofing systems does the company install?
GAF's contractor listing states it performs replacement of shingle, TPO and metal roofs. TPO is the common single ply choice on low slope apartment and commercial buildings, while shingle work covers pitched apartment blocks and townhome style communities.
How does hail affect apartment portfolios in North Texas?
Collin and Dallas counties sit inside the Texas hail corridor, and a single storm can hit dozens of buildings across one community. Large portfolio claims usually need per building damage documentation, and owners often phase replacement across multiple buildings rather than doing everything at once.
Are impact resistant shingles used on multifamily buildings?
They can be. Class 4 impact resistant shingles, rated under the UL 2218 steel ball test, resist hail bruising better than standard shingles, and insurers writing commercial and habitational property sometimes credit them. Whether they pay back on a given portfolio depends on the carrier and the deductible structure.
Do commercial reroofs in Dallas need permits?
Texas has no statewide building code enforcement, so it is set locally. The City of Dallas, Plano and Richardson each run their own commercial reroof permit and inspection processes, and the Collin County portion of Dallas still permits through the City of Dallas. Confirm which jurisdiction applies to the specific property.
How long has the company been in business?
Its own website states it has provided building services since 1985. It has also been a supplier member of the Apartment Association of Greater Dallas since 1998, and GAF's directory copy refers to thirty six years of experience, which is consistent with a mid 1980s start.
What should an owner ask for before awarding a roofing contract?
Insurance certificates naming the property owner as additional insured, the manufacturer certification confirmed on the manufacturer's own contractor locator, a written scope naming the membrane or shingle and the deck and insulation treatment, the warranty type and term, and a phasing plan and tenant notification process for occupied buildings.
